Cro/Roxy wedding prompt: “ i need a date so i’m hiring you off criags list, please don’t be a serial killer”
I dind’t try very hard and it’s not edited but I like it so IT’S GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME *Throws trashy shippy fan fic at u and scurries away bc im used to pale and I tried to broaden my horizons and IT DID NOT GO GOOD AHA.*
Roxy slipped on her highheels and shoved a hair clip back into place as she stumbled to the door and slammed into it. She jerked it open, and nearly fell into the guy waiting outside. He grinned at her, slicking fingers through his hair to push it into place.
“Hey there, babe. One date night, coming up.” He said, his voice sounding like a bad imitation of Danny Zuko from “Grease.” He was dressed nicer than Danny Zuko, thank goodness. A black suit and tie, dress shoes, good. He was maybe 6’1, with pitch black hair and sharp, brown eyes. Or maybe they were green. Or, blue? Roxy squinted up at him from her own, sad, 5”5.
“Cronus, right?” She asked. He nodded, grin growing.
“That’s right, darlin’. Roxy Lalonde, I presume. You chose the five hundred dollars for one night, so I’ll be taking two fifty right now. After I prove m worth, then I get the other two fifty.”
“Oh, right, hang on one mo.” She said. She looked around for her purse, and then grabbed it off the shoe rack where it had fallen when she’d crashed down the steps. She dug around and brought out the money, shoving it in his hands. He muttered a thanks and crammed it in his pocket, then stood on the porch.
“So…” Roxy hesitated, then smiled. “You’re not like, a serial killer, right?”
“The only killer I am is a lady killer.” He said and then laughed a little too loudly. Despite herself, Roxy snickered. She stepped out, and shut and locked the door behind her. He led her to the car she’d rented, and got in the driver’s seat. She gave him a small shove and slipped behind the wheel herself.
“Get in the passenger seat.” She said, buckling in. He obeyed with a small huff. She started up the car, waited for him to buckle, and then gunned it, slamming her foot onto the peddle. She cackled as Cronus actually screamed. They screeched down the road, and she took a hard right, then began speeding down the back roads.
Half an hour of driving later, Roxy screeched into the parking lot. She jumped out of the car and grabbed her purse. Cronus stumbled out of the car, falling and then scrambling back up and giving her a “You crazy b*tch” look. She snickered and offered her arm.
“C’mon. The wedding is in half an hour.” She said. Cronus grabbed her arm, and she led him in, then dropped him into a seat and sped off to help someone move a table.
Roxy had been unable to find a boyfriend for the wedding she’d been invited to, and would not go without one. She’d ended up getting on Craig’s list and looking around there. She’d come across a ‘boyfriend for rent’ deal and snapped it up.
Cronus behaved well enough at the wedding, and at the reception, although he was clearly a bit uncomfortable. Sometimes he seemed about to say something, but cut himself off and grinned instead.
At one point, near the end, she turned to say something to him, and noticed he was missing. She blinked and began looking for him. After a while, she heard some clacking and ducked into a spare room the church had.
Cronus was curled up in a corner, clacking on his phone, and sniffling. Roxy gasped and walked over, kneeling next to him.
“Cro? You okay, baby?” She asked, reaching out to pet him. He wiped his eyes, and nodded. She sniffed and raised an eyebrow. He was drunk. Really, really drunk.
“Yeah. Does this mean I’m not getting paid?” He said. Roxy rolled her eyes and stood up.
“No. Come on, let’s get back out there.”
“Yeah, yeah, give me a moment.”
She gave him several moments, and he just sat there, staring at his phone.
“…Cronus.” She said. She grabbed his arm and began to pull him up.
“Noooo.” He said. She grunted and began to pull him out of the room while he groaned loudly. “I don’t want to.”
“That’s too bad. I paid for you.” A louder groan. She huffed and puffed and continued to tug her date to the door. He groaned louder and louder as she got closer to the door.
Finally, he stood up and leaned heavily on her. She led him out, trying to be mad.
“I’m just a musician who’s down on his luck. I’m not an escort.”
“You’re totes an escort, honey.” She said, trying to scowl. This was a rather humorous situation, and she was trying her hardest to be mad that he was making a show of himself, groaning on and on about how he was a ‘sensitive, hardworking soul who’d been born into the wrong age.”
Half an hour later, she loaded him into the car, saying that he needed to get home and rest. He fell asleep in the car, and she barely managed to get him up enough to get him into her home and nap.
When Cronus woke up a few hours later, on a strange couch, with a hot chick offering him a pill and some coffee he almost had a heart attack. He was sure he did actually have a small one when she asked him out a week from now, but for free this time, claiming that he owed her. He agreed.
