Ah... I wouldn't say that. I've always really wanted to help people. Ever since I was a kid it's almost felt like an obligation I guess? Like because I can help that I should help?

Maybe it speaks to some deep issues or something. I'll probably need therapy eventually. Who knows.

Some outfits I designed for Princess Zarah. I think my vision for her is something between high fashion mixed with fantasy but also something someone would wear in a desert environment. I'm still figuring out the armor situation.

One night Axe was in the haze of sleep, arms wrapped around Ellie holding her. he could hear her heart beat. Calm and steady as she rested.

She smelled so sweet as she always did. His dreams had been intense. Filled with biting flesh. Tearing. Eating. There she was and that voice inside told him to consume her as it did many times in the past few weeks. In this state he couldn't resist. He didn't want to resist. Ellie woke to the feeling of his tongue on her neck. She immediately started to realize what was going on. Tried to call out to him. Get through to him. But the Axe she could reason with wasn't there. Much worse the pepper spray she kept with her for emergency situations like this was tucked away in her bag. They'd been safe for so long she'd stopped keeping it near by a long time ago

That's what he bit into her. Hard.

She fought and tried harder to reason with him, only resulting in him biting harder, with the crack of bone

She managed to put her horn to good use and stab him in the eye hard enough to startle him and make him let go.

Ellie managed to get away, defend herself, and get help that night but nothing was ever going to be the same again.

Things were going pretty alright for a while. Casual. Ellie would come back to stay at Axe's apartment for the most part on the weekends and they got in a nice rhythm.

At first things were okay but with Axe being back on his meds, he definitely noticed a difference. He was in a deep haze again. He wanted to be himself... to be a good boyfriend. But he found himself barely able to respond and he hated that.

He slowly started to lower the dose of his sedative. Just a bit at first. Ellie didn't need to know. He just wanted to be more awake. He wanted to be more of a person. He wanted to be who she liked. She seemed to enjoy it too as when she came to visit he started surprising her with attention.

He was still feeling a little groggy though... it was so tempting to keep on lowering the dose. As the weeks went on he kept going down... until one day he stopped taking them all together. He told himself again that Ellie didn't need to know. He didn't need the sedatives. He was okay. He could handle this.

He was ignoring the disturbing dreams he was getting about biting into Ellie's flesh and devouring her. He could handle this.

Korneli <3 Axael lovin

That summer was nice. Axe and Ellie were closer than ever and now that graduation was over it seemed like the both of them could let out a sigh of relief... but really it was just the calm before the storm.

Ellie had gained eyes on her ever since she had started doing presentations and pushing forth her proposition about making artificial unicorn tears into a real product that could help people. Not all of the attention was good.

Some people were indeed interested in the idea of unicorn tears but saw a lot more value in her as a commodity and making her their own. She was ignorant of the darker side of the underground of the city and didn't realize the vulnerable position she'd put herself in. MonstroCity has all types of people from all kinds of worlds, good and bad and all gray area in between. The city does it's best to manage it but they have a thriving underground that can be pretty dangerous if you're not careful.

Unfortunately Korneli and Axael found that out the hard way when Ellie got kidnapped.

Axael was able to rescue her but... he lost control in a way that was frightening to everyone involved, most of all himself. He'd been off his meds for months now by this point and while that meant he was more alert and attentive in his daily life it also meant he struggled with strange urges that he was constantly ignoring and in denial about. Urges that he was fully not able to control in his anger that day.

As soon as he'd figured out where Ellie had been taken he tore into that room like... well. Like a monster. Ellie had never seen him like that in her life. His eyes which were always blank were expressionless wide circles and his thin blue stripes were glowing. She didn't know he could do that. But what was terrifying was how he just grabbed and tore and killed people without hesitation. People shot at him and he didn't even flinch.

Then most horrifying at all he bit into someone and started eating them.

Ellie just stayed perfectly still while this was happening, terrified of drawing attention

Axe slowly calmed down and his growls turned into horrified sobs.

After that terrifying day they both agreed that he should go back on the meds

When the demoness was first released, Zarah doesn’t know what she expected but it wasn’t that. She was massive and immediately took out half the palace. Right away she was ready to do as she did best… kill. Starting with the one who freed her. Only she hesitated. That shadow who had spent all those months begrudgingly becoming Zarah’s friend no longer existed as their own entity. they were basically Lamia’s soul and now that they were one again, they found themself not wanting to hurt this little naga. That was very interesting. And for a thousands-of-years-old being, not many things were anymore. So she let the princess live. Not only that but she decided to save her kingdom (not that she didn’t cause plenty of casualties on both sides). She mostly wanted to stick close to this person who made her hesitate for a while. This had never happened before and she wanted to know where this story would lead for her...

Because Axe was able to pick up his grades, both he and Ellie were able to graduate!

Axe moved into apartment not too far away. The apartment was okay. A little studio. He started working too a job too things were going well.

Ellie on the other hand decided to stay and pursue further degrees. She had her mission in mind. People had laughed at first but she was starting to make progress and when she presented to the right people she even got herself a grant! She had her own lab now and an assistant too. Things were actually going her way finally maybe.

But she was also gaining the wrong kind of attention too.

Meanwhile Ellie wasn't at school just to play around. She chose Monstro University for a reason. They have the leading Inter-species Biology Program, since this is where all the portals tend to drop new people who end up here.

Ever since her accident she has been fascinated by the concept of how unicorn tears work. How she could just cry and make an injury seal itself up. When she lost her leg it wasn't instantaneous but it definitely made the healing process easier for her. It meant all she had to do was cry and rub the tears on herself and she never had any scars.

She wanted to study how to replicate this phenomenon. She wanted to make it her life's work.

She loved Axe and all her drama with him but didn't want it to distract from this.

Lamia attempting to seduce the princess while also flaunting her power and taunting her.

Zarah tried to stand tall. It had been weeks of the demon's unrelenting antagonizing but she wouldn't dare admit that it was starting to get to her. She'd never been talked to like the demoness talked to her before. Never been touched like she touched her before.

She was so much different than her shadow bolder, louder, confident. But also more cocky, rude, crude... Both of them had been very forward about their desires though. Only the demoness's desire just so happened to be spending more time with Princess Zarah. Much to the anxieties of the Queen and Princess alike.

Zarah tried her best not to be the ridiculous blushing virgin that she was but the way Lamia treated her was like no one had ever dared to in her life and she would be lying if she said it hadn't awoken something in her. She would die before she let that on though.

She certainly wasn't going to say anything here and now. Her relationship with the demon was a power struggle and that was the way Lamia liked it. She loved games and Zarah was the best one she'd had to play in a long time.

But she was going to have to wait at least a little while longer.

After Axe and Ellie started at University it started to become apparent that Axe was really struggling. which was not something new but it was even worse than normal after his doctor increased his medication. Ellie was a little suspicious and looked into it and found it was a sedative, much to both of their increased suspicion and distress.

They did some further research into what could be going on. Why would they would they be sedating Axe. This didn't seem right? He was on this medication almost as long as he could remember. Since he was a child. Could this maybe have something to do with the reason why his mother was in prison? But he wasn't his mother.

So they made the decision together for him to go off of the medication. At first it was hard and strange. He hadn't been fully alert and awake.. ever in his adult life. His grades started turning around. He started... noticing things about his best friend...

Ellie was receptive too. It wasn't like she'd never considered it. And for the first time he was awake enough to really feel. But there were mistakes.

He started to get hungry. Too hungry. And he started to have dreams where he would wake up in a kind of trance with cycling thoughts that scared him. But he didn't want to go back on the meds. Going back on the meds would change everything
