Я завел это место чтобы хоть как-то систематизировать некоторые вещи, пришедшие из темноты за моими глазами. Но раз уж Ты тут - добро пожаловать! Меня можешь звать Флай или Флайфлай. So people of Unsounded Discord started discussing who qualifies as a magical girl in the comic and they were coming up with bad ideas like “Mikaila“. They were all obviously wrong, so I decided to take the matter in my own hands. I am so sorry.

Have your feelings about some of your characters changed over the years? I've been around since chapter 2, and it's interesting how my views of the characters have developed outside of what's going on in the plot. Though of course I'm learning about them still through the story and you've had all these details for a long time. Still, I'm curious if you have also had any shifts in perspective.

I’m much harder on Duane than I used to be. Long ago he sprang from a more naive part of me that was certain he had perfectly logical reasons for his biases, but I judge him harder for those biases now than I once did. I think for all his intellect he has shied away from a lot of observational data that contradicted much of what he preferred to believe in, and taken the easier path, questioning very little of the world he was presented. Duane didn’t deserve the fate that befell him but Duane’s wickedness is real. It’s a banal flavour of wickedness, and utterly common, but wicked all the same.

I don’t know if you read the chapter 14 post on Patreon much less the old script I threw up, but the way that story changed over the years is a good example of how my thoughts on Duane changed. He originally went from assuming the role of a powerless nobody acting out because of bullying and yet remaining the pure-hearted, selfless hero; to a figure with authority who was exploiting others for his own status and to support a tyrannical regime, all the while killing whom he was told and not questioning the orders.

I still love him, and I know where he’s going so I have hope for him, but I now recognise all the guilt he’s felt all these years didn’t simply spring from that night with Mikaila. Duane increasingly recognises his own sins. Watching him come to this recognition is of course a big part of Unsounded.

There are some other characters - particularly Lady Ilganyag - whom I have much more sympathy for now than I once did, but I can’t talk about why :)

Ещё одна идея, чтобы закинуть к остальным и не забыть. Раса разумных насекомообразных существ с экзоскелетом. Меняют оный раз в пускай год. Очень многое в их культуре завязано на линьку, потому что линька очень долгий и интимный процесс в ходе которого линяющий уязвим. Например, традиции предписывают ходить в паломничество к одному из специальных храмов. Или пусть есть неписанное правили что нельзя отказать гостю просящего найти место под головой на время линьки. Или наоборот, такое не принято совсем. Надо подумать.

Набросал “Лорин“ (условное имя персонажа). Вообще, странно что я её тут почти не постил, потому что она чуть ли не самый рисуемый мною персонаж. Это, по идее, её “условно-взрослая“ версия.

Захотел быстренько анимировать этого чувака. Все ещё привыкаю к рисованию аниаций в таком низком разрешении. Процесс рисования кадров через пайнт вручную добавляет вина.
