There’s a certain stiffness whenever someone new appears in her doorstep. Not uncomfortable, because Jiah wouldn’t invite people she’s not fond of over to her apartment. It’s more about the discovery of a new place and understanding where to touch and where to step so nothing in the room will be disturbed. She’s glad that Mia is over that phase and apparently knows her way around Jiah’s apartment just as well as any of her friends who stop by often enough. “Everything in excess will make you feel like you’re dying,” she says because it’s true but it’s amusing if she’s honest, and she lets out a chuckle, “though I must admit I’ve never seen anyone turning green for any reason, and I’ve seen some weird stuff in the industry,” Jiah says with a bit of a laugh. She feels the smell of the food as soon as Mia places everything on the counter and she feels her stomach grumble.
It’s funny actually, how Mia looks so comfortable going around her kitchen, taking what they’ll need and everything. That’s why Jiah just decides to lean back against the counters and let her do her thing. There was no need of two people to handle the utensils and the glasses, “you really know what you’re looking for, huh. I feel like I haven’t drunk wine in the longest time now,” she says with a delighted sigh. Mia had a point. They both were busy with schedules recently but better that way than not having anything to work on, at least. She keeps a close look on the glass and it started filling. She held up her hand to tell Mia to stop pouring and the cup is not even a third filled but Jiah’s purpose tonight is not to get drunk but to enjoy the company. “You’re looking bright despite everything, Youngmi-ah,” she says offhandedly. Maybe because she’s younger than Jiah, the comment comes out so easily. Jiah forgets easily how much time has passed since her debut but seeing fresh faces like Mia’s is a welcome reminder, “how is life? Are you doing well? I feel like I haven’t asked you basic questions like that for a while now.”
“That’s a pretty morbid way of looking at things. I like to live by the phrase ‘I’m here for a good time, not a long time’.” Which was pretty morbid itself, but it was a lot less dreary than Jiah’s. Or at least that was how Youngmi felt about it. “I for one am glad that you haven’t seen anyone turn green. It makes me feel better about not having seen it for myself either.” The younger idol let out a small chuckle at her own little joke, comfortably making her way around Jiah’s apartment. She had been there more times than she could count on all of the fingers on both of her hands and all of the toes on both of her feet. Being around her company senior was like being around an older sister - comforting and familiar. While she did love her older half brother, there was still a little bit of unresolved tension between them because of their father and Youngmi’s mother. With Jiah, there wasn’t any tension or disagreements, just positivity and pseudo-familial love, and she was just happy that she was able to experience that with someone.
“How long has it been?” The younger woman wasn’t much of a drinker herself, but she did like to treat herself to a glass of wine at the end of a busy and hectic, schedule filled day. Which, as of late, tended to be almost everyday. It seemed as though BC Entertainment were dead set on running her into a hole. She figured she should be glad that they were pouring so much time and effort into her career, and that she was doing noticeable well compared to a lot of rookies and even some of her seniors. She just couldn’t find it in herself to be excited about it. Maybe she had to give it more time. She raised an eyebrow when Jiah stopped her. “Taking it easy tonight, unnie?” She joked, moving on to fill up her own glass, a good bit more than halfway filled. She hesitated, before completely filing her own with a wine. “Do I? It’s the skincare regime BC put me under,” she said, her voice a little deadpan. She wished she felt as good as she supposedly looked. “I could say the same about you, unnie. But then again, you always look great. Life has been.. Busy, that’s for sure.. Very busy.”
