Far Away {Matt & L} || Closed
Matt rubbed the back of his neck and sighed, “I’ve finished it all by now." He wasn’t lying. He’d rather get it done as fast as he could and turned in as fast as he could so he wouldn’t have to deal with it anymore. So far he did the assignments he received since he came here as soon as he got them, putting in his "whole-ass" effort.
“The sooner I finish it the sooner I can get back to these babies," He lifted up the handheld console and shook it slightly, showing it off and to prove whatever point he was attempting to make, "and I think it’s pretty cool to have created a club dedicated to it, you know?" He felt like he was, for lack of a better word, home.
“We’ve never really spoken outside of the classroom before, there a reason why you came here, of all places?" Matt shifted in his seat and shoved a hand in his pant pockets, fidgeting with his carton of cigarettes.
Well, at least he wasn’t letting the games disrupt his school work. Why come to a school to simply fail all one’s classes? Eyes drifting towards the controller, his expression flattened. Not only was he so absorbed into it, but it was also his inspiration to do better in his studies.
"I suppose. Why make a club that would teach useful life skills when there is a club opening for games?" Although he was being sarcastic, not a hint of it laced his voice.
Pulling up a chair, he placed one foot on the cushion, hoisted himself into the chair, and squatted as his shoe lined against the other. With fingers pinching the backing, he stared at Matt for a moment before answering. “Why do you think I am here?”
He watched his teacher and "Maybe to check up on me? I don't know." It was a possibility. Nothing else really made much sense to him, how the hell should he know? "Though honestly I doubt that's it. I'd just be firing out blanks unless you tell me." The thought that it might've been about his missing memory came to mind and maybe L would help shed light on that situation, but he didn't even want to bring it up. Being in the same room with someone he barely talked to before made him.. kind of uncomfortable.
