what’s your position?

Vigo: I'd never be with a Killer
Also Vigo: but is Wraith really a killer, I mean come on you guys
“You think you know death, but you don’t. Not until you’ve seen it, ’til you’ve really seen it. It gets under your skin and lives inside you. There’s nothing you can do. Nothing.”
- Cook. Rise, part two. (via mournus)
Vigo @ the Endgame Collapse
post entity vigo isn’t allowed to text bc half of each text will just be emojis
vigo is self centered. or rather, self interested. his shroud, the rainbow map, the black lock; these weren’t initially made with others in mind. they were made to play with the “irrefragable rules” of the fog. to test limits. to see what It would let him get away with... it just so happens that the item or add-on he makes is then taken, replicated, and distributed via the Entity and it’s bloodweb. it ALSO just so happens that when he does give away his things, it’s to survivors vigo is personally invested in, like nea or dwight or certain other survivors. and there is a difference between what’s being made by him and what’s being “spat out” by the Entity. vigo says as much in his notes on the engineer’s toolbox:
I've created tools beyond compare and stood paralysed as they were stolen from me. These are but a poor replica, spat out by the fog.
ok so I haven’t drawn any references yet but vigo gets his
black hair
olive skin tone
eye color
profile shape
from his father.
from his mother:
nose shape
eye shape
round face shape
ear shape
Oh, did the prey think it'd gotten away? No, for the cloaked hound was never far behind the other's all too easily tracked footsteps. The Wraith witnessed the other's expertise in evading some of the more tunnel-visioned, but those were WEAK under the moon's gaze; he did not have nearly as much difficulty following the trail. And now it stood, a blockade in the rumor's path with blade hanging at bloodstained side. It waits. Give it a reason to STRIKE. -Wraith!
vigo knows his hunter. they’ve danced this dance many a night before; an on and off again game of cat and mouse between the transient occultist and him: the wraith— personal bloodhound of the entity and a near constant thorn in his side. a push too far or one too many irrefragable rules bent and he was sure to hear the distant chiming of grisly bell. though sometimes vigo was lucky if he even got that much before it swung at him…
this night he’s been lucky. there was no ring of the bell or rush of wind. no warning save sudden chill down his spine mere moments before the wraith had entered his poorly constructed shelter. their chase began almost immediately after but vigo had eventually been able to lose his hunter. now he creeps through a raining forest, eager to seek sanctuary in familiar ground. the campfire.
why the entity saw fit to send the wraith so soon this time eludes vigo. perhaps it had finally grew weary of his travels in-between and wish to nip him in the bud early. maybe the cloaked killer had simply sought him out for reasons unknown. in truth, it didn’t matter. vigo had the impression that he would end up at the campfire regardless of what happened. his frustration with both the entity and the wraith were only matched by his curiosity. if he could just—
vigo stops suddenly. there, just ahead, was his way back. and before it, the wraith. the killer was cloaked, damn near invisible and yet… the rain. it was the rain that gave him away. colliding with him and then running the course of his body, giving the formless a shape that he might then see.
‘ för fan i helvete ! ’ he curses. there was little to do but acknowledge it’s presence. should he run, it would merely follow and vigo may not spot him the next time. so he stands to his full height and locks his gaze with where he knows it’s eyes to be. ‘ wasn’t the last time enough, kukhuvud ? ’
he doesn’t expect an answer. he’s merely stalling the inevitable.
🧠 + yours truly ;0
headcanon meme ( @buckandwild kate) ( accepting ! )
kate? vigo adores kate! she’s tough, she speaks her mind, and she has a (seemingly) endless sunshine-y disposition in spite of her new surroundings. quite honestly she’s like this breath of fresh air— much needed given how dour or “serious” a lot of their fellow survivors can be. plus she can play the guitar and sports a very nice collection of tattoos sooo this makes her cool in vigo’s book.
🧠 + family?
headcanon meme ( accepting ! )
the only family member of any significance is vigo’s mother, sofia, who raised him by herself. his father, an on-again-off-again lover for sofia, left permanently when she told him of the pregnancy. relatives such as grandparents, aunts, and cousins were distant enough in both actual distance and emotional for their absence to be of no real importance to vigo.
in truth, he bears no ill will over an absentee father or missing relatives. he prefers it even, as he gets to fill in the gaps with friends and mentors— a habit he tries to drop quick when taken by the entity. spoiler: it doesn’t work.
@empathecary
obscured by fog and hidden from sight, vigo does his best to bandage the botanist’s wounds as well he can. she cries as he does, they all do, but he does his best to soothe her worried noises and grunts of pain. ‘ i’m almost done. you’re doing great. ’ it’s repeated near verbatim from other encounters with her, claudette’s own words of quiet encouragement returned in kind as he goes about his business. when he is finished, he steps back to take a cursory glance ‘round their wall of stone. somewhere in the distance another survivor cries out.
‘ i’m not a doctor, ’ vigo says, turning back to her. ‘ so no lolipop for you. ’ a poor attempt by him to relieve the tension of their trial. ‘ but— ‘ he pulls an item from his back pocket, presenting her it. ‘ i did find this. ’
her glasses rest comfortably in his palms, dirtied as everything else is but relatively unscathed from what had caused her injury. a smile is offered when she takes it, yet another joke cracked. ‘ you’re like velma, yes ? from scooby doo ? ’ vigo keeps himself from saying the accompanying catchphrase.
my glasses ! i can’t see without my glasses !
nobody believes vigo is in his mid - late twenties bc he’s got a baby face and shaves
please note that I use occultist in it’s literal form, i.e. belief in or study of the action or influence of supernatural or supernormal powers. when i call vigo an occultist i’m not saying he’s part of, like, a cult or something. he grew up on tales of scandinavian folklore which grew into an interest with the occult and supernatural.
🧠 + animals
headcanon meme ( accepting ! )
vigo loves animals! he has a particular fondness for those often connected to the occult such as various birds, rabbits, and mice. before his ill-fated hike vigo owned a single black house mouse that he called faustus who he loved. he especially likes crows so you can imagine his frustration when he realized they function like eyes for the entity. that said, he does his best not to disturb them on principal.
@leftlast
‘ interested in a race ? ’ is asked of her, her busy at work on the final generator and him taking out the final totem on the map. ‘ last one to— ’ he pauses briefly in his work to search for their exit, pointing out the exit gate. it rests, large and inviting, on the opposite end of lampkin lane; a straight line down the street from where they work. ‘ last one to the exit gate has to distract the killer until it’s opened. ’
a trial is hardly a place for such frivolity but with only two of them left vigo feels the need to try and lighten the mood. neither of them might make it out so a challenge wouldn’t matter much regardless.
