Turns out that daisies have a lot of the same properties as Roman chamomile, just not as potent

You know that essential oils arenāt just a fad right? Theyāve been around for centuries! Oregano is one of the most overlooked, yet super powerful oils. (via Ways to Use Oregano Essential Oil)

I'm not naturally good at growing things and naturally great at wanting to grow everything all at once š already this year I've been so frustrated from the combination of our poor soil, invasive choking weeds, adorable bunnies chewing through our temp fence then eating the things, and my general lack of gardening skills. I've been fighting the idea of raised beds just because they can get so expensive, but I'm thinking raised beds are where I'll end up for most of our veggies eventually, just not this year. I don't want to fight with our land every year š And since it's still far too early to give up growing vegetables completely I'm going to try growing a few things in pots/containers this morning. Sooooo we will see how that goes šš¤š¼ ā ā A list of things that are currently growing well: ā -beans. The pole and bush types. ā -tomatoes. Though it's taking an insane amount of weeding to keep the weeds from eating them. And I need to wrap chicken wire around them to protect them from the chickens. ā -peppers. ā -garlic...trying to decide if I should plant more because you can never have too muchā -onionsā -sunflowersā -the new blackberry bushes (planted 50 this year)ā -wildflowers ā -the shrubs I planted this year (and thinking about it I planted around 60 this year--chokecherry, hazelnut, elderberry, witch hazel, aaaand a few others I can't remember at the moment)ā -the apple trees the goats didn't kill šš»ā -the mulberry trees I didn't plant ā -the blackberries I didn't plantā -and the raspberries I didn't plantā ā Oh and I think I found wild strawberries in the back field š http://ift.tt/2qvNJt6

Things I learned this morning in order of occurrence:ā ā ā¢Basil essential oil took away my itchy throat so much faster than the lavender/lemon/peppermint combo. ā ā¢Bunnies eat peas. All of them. Even if they're just baby pea plants without any peas. But so far they don't eat tomato plants. ā ā¢Mulberries taste like cherries. ā ā¢Mulberries and wild roses well grow together. At least from what I've seen on our property. ā ā¢Wild black raspberries and poison ivy grow well together. The raspberries are worth the risk of poison ivy. But they aren't ripe yet. ā ā¢I eat a lot of leftovers for breakfast. ā ā Also if you made it this far (high five āØ) I'm doing a little local class on natural remedies--so if you were to come, what would you want to learn about? ā http://ift.tt/2qkzEie
I'm sooo excited to start learning to embroider with this kit from @underatinroof š wish me luck š http://ift.tt/2rYsaP6
