Remy takes his steps through the new world grass. The perfectly normal instinct to wonder where he was. Because there were a couple of things weren’t sitting well in his stomach.

For one, there were no lights. Remy had never thought of a world without streetlights until now. When he was thrown in the middle of darkness. It disturbed him.

The rat shakes his head. Knowing very well any fear was in there and not in actual reality.

Looking on the bright side. Maybe if he saw some humans, it would make him feel a little more at home.

“And then,” Rapunzel told Pascal, who was walking beside her. “Eugene says, ‘I KNEW Hookhand was there’ even though he didn’t! It was so funny- he was trying so hard to play it off, you know? How he does -- his Flynn Rider-y instinct, you know what I mean?” Pascal nodded, and then froze, which caused Rapunzel to look down, wondering why he’d stopped.

“What? What is it?” She whispered, looking around, suddenly tense. Though she loved the outside world, and she did love it, there were times she was afraid of it -- the fear of the unknown that she always felt. There was beauty in this world, but also danger.

But, not in the form of the tiny rat Pascal was looking at, which Rapunzel figured out was the source of his stopping. “Oh! Hello!” She exclaimed, bending down to look at him. “Hi- are you lost?” She had never seen a rat quite like this one -- he was looking a little frazzled and confused. Not like the ones at the Snuggly Duckling, who looked happy and a little drunk however that worked. Maybe Rats could get drunk off of smells? (But then again, the pub thugs could be giving them drinks...) Rapunzel shook the thought away.

“Are you okay Little Guy?”

“I’ll have you know I’m the reigning hide-and-seek champion -- Not even PASCAL can out-do me! Are you sure you don’t want to play something else?”

Makes Them Grow

The brunette knew it was true -- talking to plants makes them grow. Rapunzel had always done this-- the little flowers on her tower’s windowsill were pretty much the finest in the land, if she did say so herself (which she did).

The girl smiled, looking at her new windowsill and her new little plants and flowers, watering them slightly and humming a little tune. “I know you'll grow up to be bright and beautiful-- and just LOOK at the view!” Turning her head to gaze outside at the wonderful, happy Kingdom of Corona, Rapunzel smiled. It was magnificent-- and her flowers would have lots of sun and warmth -- something Rapunzel herself finally knew a bit more about. Sun and warmth. Hope and kindness. A loving, trusting family.

The brunette suddenly realized that people were a lot like flowers. They neeed to be treated right and given lots of love and care and sunshine.

Rapunzel paused, deciding that it was exactly what Eugene needed -- love and warmth and sunshine of course, but also a little plant! It could brighten up his room, give him something to tend after! He could really grow to love plants, she figured, since he’d spent so much time running...now he could finally slow down and relax, and love something with his whole heart, and watch it love him right back.

“That’s it!” She said, scooping up her littlest sunflower. “You’re going to live with Eugene, and he’ll take great care of you, and you’ll get the best view in the whole castle, in my opinion -- Eugene likes it a lot too, or so he tells me. You’ll have a wonderful life, and --” She was just stepping out of the hall when suddenly she ran into !!

“Eugene!” She exclaimed, fumbling with her plant as she crashed into him. “I’m sorry! I didn’t see you! Are you okay? I have something for you!” And she smiled big and bright, because even though she’d bumped into him, she was always, always, always so happy to see him, the man who’d helped save her.
