Pak Khlong Talat is Flower Market located around the Memorial Bridge in Bangkok City. It's open 24 hours but the best time to visit is at night. It's amazing to see the flowers sold in this place and the size of the market is stunning. You can get pretty cheap flowers here for your home if you are having an extended stay over Bangkok. You can take Bus No. 73 or 8 to reach here or just waive down the cab.
A must for a memorable visit to Bangkok.
For the night owls hunting for a nice place to work, relax, hangout late or (even catch a nap?), this is the place for you. It has plenty of space, but can be crowded until late at night. Young people hangout a lot here because it is so close to Chulalongkorn U. They serve typical cafe drinks and food, but the point is you need a good joint. If you come early in the evening you can go across Rama IV to Chamchuri square and visit large bookstores there as well.
Cafe Hopping in Chulalongkorn 42 area reachable by Sam Yan MRT. This place are favourites of Chula U students. There are plenty of small cafes that are nicely decked up. If you don't mind mingling around the the smartest people in Thailand (Chula U is the top U in Thailand and around Asia) come to this place. You can go to Chamchuri Square for big big bookstore and across the Square to visit two beautiful temple. If you want your life reading, get services from palmistry, tarot card readers just outside the temple. If you really don't mind walking, you can go down Rama IV to one of the top place for noodle in Bangkok - Jay Jia Yentafu, highly recommended or cheap, good steak at Today Steak at Sam Yan Market nearby Chulalongkorn 42. New location for the Thalad Rod Fai market which is now known as Train Market Srinakarin. Location is as the map above. How to get there for tourists, here is the direction from Google Map:
1. Take train to BTS Ekkamai and go down to Wat That Thong located below the station.
2. Take Bus 133 and after 36 stops you stop at Roro Ro Yon Prin Dusit
3. Walk 4 mins about 300m to Seacon Square
Another more expensive alternative:
1. Take train to BTS Udom Suk or On Nut
2. Stop a cab to get you there.
4. The market is located behin Seacon Square as shown in the map.
Platinum Mall Food Festival 20-30 June 2013
Come and take a bite off Bangkok's Street food. Located just outside of Platinum Mall in central Bangkok. Go to BTS Chit Lom and then ask people for direction to Platinum Mall (about 5 mins walk away)
Thalad Rod Fai or Rod Fai Market is a mix of market selling vintage and new stuff and of course street foods. We went to the last market located just behind Chatuchak Market before they are "asked" to shift elsewhere. At the moment I have no idea where is their new location. What is so cool about this market is because it is simply COOL!. There are lots of people here coming to just chill and shop over the weekend. Will keep everyone posted on the new place when we do find out. This place is a MUST come if you visit Bangkok, not the typical place a tourist bus would want to take you.

Saung Angklung Udjo performance at their "village" in Bandung. A must go if you are visiting Bandung. Learn to play the angklung as well :D
Brogasari Food Fair a nice festival where you can have access to favourite Indonesian cuisines and sundanese food all in one spot.
Khlong Toei Wet Market is one of the biggest wet market in Bangkok and there are many choices and grades in terms of fresh food offered. Many of them wholesale their products to smaller retailers and restaurants. An experience to just visit.

Amphawa Floating Market which is located outside Bangkok. You can take a songthaew from Mae Khlong town or direct from Bangkok via the mini van at the BTS Victory Monument. A different feel from the Damnoen Saduak market. Here the boat ride experience is only reasonable compared to the MUST experience on the side of the canal. Shops selling food to cafes and hangout places aplenty.
Mae Khlong Railway Market which is located in the Mae Khlong town, 1.5 hours out from Bangkok. Easily reachable via a mini van from BTS Victory Monument and cost you around 80 Baht. A must see experience and the train passes the town 8 times, you can opt to catch the 12 noon train to experience the tourist crowd and all the craziness.
Or Tor Kor Fresh Market which is located next to Chatuchak or JJ Market. All the fresh food stuff can be obtained here. This market offers a clean, dry and well lit environment to do your shopping. Lots of stuff to buy and feast your eyes on to. There is also a food court to have your fill. Just head to MRT Kamphaeng Phet and take Exit 3 where the market is located.
A surprised find across Chatuchak Market. It's the Orchid Market where traders sell flowers and orchids. Besides the plants, they also sell gardening tools, fertilisers and pots of all sorts. There is a Doi Chaang coffee at the ship-liked building which is quite nice to just relax from the hustle and bustle of Chatuchak.

A visit to Asiatique The Riverfront, one of the main tourism draw in the city of Bangkok. It's a high-end Chatuchak with a more organised and presentable products and "hipster" + "art" + "entertainment" kinda place. You can probably spend a full evening here so don't budget for an hour's visit. It's relatively easy to get here. The cheap way is to take a bus 15 right from Siam Centre.
A visit to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, located about 110 km or 1.5 hours by mini van from Bangkok City. Come early before 9am preferably so that you can enjoy the boat trip. The tip is to share with other tourist for the boat if not you will end up paying to expensive. You can catch the mini van operator just below BTS Victory Monument and it will cost you 90Baht per person. Everything in the place is tourist price, with some items can go up to 300% premium, so be sure to haggle down. Overall a nice experience before the motorboats come into the canal.
