What’s the strangest thing that’s ever happened to you?

Well, I was just walking around the kingdom, as I do sometimes... There are lots of infected bugs about, still, but they’re pretty easy to avoid. They’re not very smart, after all.

But there’s no way an infected bug could land a hit as close as this one!

As much as I hate to admit it, had I never trained in fighting I’m not sure I would've been able to dodge that needle.

The bug that threw it started babbling about me needing to prove my strength or something...

But I didn’t stay around to listen. I prefer my shell to stay all in one piece, thank you!

I’m not entirely sure what her deal was... But maybe she mistook me for someone else? It was definitely ‘strange,’ to say the least.

Canis, do you accept gifts? If so what kind?

“Funny that you should ask... I recently got promoted to head guard! If there was ever a time for me to get gifts, it would be now.“

“That being said, the only thing I would really want is a newer nail or set of armor, but those were already gifted to me upon being promoted. Looks like you were a bit late!“

“However... If you’re asking because you do have a gift or are planning to get one.... Know that I would not refuse.“

Canis looks somewhat giddy at the prospect, despite having gotten what he wanted already. He’s acting almost like a very big, very dangerous puppy.

He’s a little odd, but that’s none of my business. He was very kind to me.

Laurel: I’ve never been the best at drawing, but I hope you like it!

Mari: “I’m...more suited to painting the landscapes around the kingdom, to be perfectly honest.”

Leopold: “I would have signed it, but that would risk covering the beauty I’ve created. Perhaps I should take up a new career in art now that I’m no longer busy! What do you think?”

Pepper: “......... Did it have to be drawing? I’d much rather use a medium I’m actually skilled at, like metalworking. Give me metalwork any day of the week, seriously. Just so you remember, YOU made me draw this, so don’t you dare say it’s bad!!”

Canis: “I’m never doing something like this ever again.”

“Thank you very much. My horns may get in the way of wearing this as a proper crown, but I think doing it this way has a certain unique flair to it, don’t you?“

I went with some flower symbolism because I got to pick the flowers in the crown! They hint at Leopold’s backstory. From top to bottom in the art they are:

Gladiolus - Faithfulness, Honor, Remembrance, Strength

King Protea - Transformation, Change

Iris - Royalty, Valor

Black Eyed Susan - Justice

I wish I had been lucky enough to share his company instead of the loneliness I have to deal with. Perhaps I would know more of my own siblings, as they would have had a reason to stay.

But for now, just for a little bit… I can pretend.
