“You’re going to follow me?”she said a bit confused. She was pretty sure she didn’t say that but she didn’t mind except for the fact of werewolves being around and she couldn’t risk a traveler guy letting them know she was there. “You really aren’t from around here, or you just have no social skills whatsoever.”she said tilting her head looking at Merlin giving two thumbs up and a smile to go along. “Stalkerish?”she asked puzzled. Okay, this guy really didn’t know English or something. “It means creepy like I’m watching you so I can kill you cut you into pieces or hide you in my closet and feed you skittles under the door.
"Uhhhhhhhh..."
She didn't look very happy, so 'thank you' probably wasn't the right response this time around. Maybe 'Stalkerish' was a bad thing after all. One more try. Merlin put his hands infront of him this time defensively. "' 'Stalker-ish', na... no" ('Stalkerish', no... 'no') And he slowly shook his head. He stopped, and half way through his next sentence it would turn to nodding. " 'Follow' giese." ('Follow' yes.) He put his hand to his own chest, gesturing to himself, and to her when relevant. "Ic... I, Helpan you?" (I... 'I', help 'you'?) Just like before, he didn't know all the words, and he couldn't say exactly what he wanted to, but he hoped that he did enough with what he could say.
Merlin had two real motives behind offering to help the girl, weather they were apparent or not. He had the chance to interact with another person, and with every interaction so far he had been slowly but surely learning more modern English. Because of this, he wouldn't pass down the chance to engage in any kind of conversation. If he was to ever get home, he wouldn't be able to do it on his own, and to get help he'd need to be able to talk to people, and he'd need friends. Good friends.
The sorcerer's second and possibly most significant motive, was the fact that he genuinely felt bad for the confusion, and worried that he might have insulted the girl somehow. Considering the time he was from, it was simply unchivalrous and above all rude to ignore how he might have offend her. He wanted to make it up to Katerina, and so he offered to help, however he could.

“Not stalkerish at all.”she said ever so sarcastically. She laughed a bit, and nodded at the boy. “It’s nice to meet you, Merlin was it? Odd name, never heard it except in like old magic books or shows. “
"Thank ðu." (Thank you)
Merlin had absolutely no idea what she just said, but he thanked her all the same. He pointed to himself and then her.
"I Bef... umm follow... you." (I follow... uhh 'follow'... you)
As far as he knew, she had asked him to. He gave her a shy thumbs up and a smile to go with the statement, though both felt awkward at the time. He hoped it might fix the confusion about the situation. THe blue eyed boy didn't mean her any harm, in fact he might even be of some help, if she needed any that was. On second glance she did seem like quite the self capable type. He did have one question though.
"Uhh, hwa si 'stalkerish'?" (Uhh, what is 'stalkerish'?)
sneaking glances
Gabriela furrowed her eyebrows upon the very first word that left his mouth. He seemed both lost and confused, and at the same time…not really local. That thought didn’t imply him being from another country, as she was familiar with many languages, and the one he spoke wasn’t something she heard before.
Her gaze left his as she looked at the pile of books by his side. She pointed a finger at them and quickly glanced at the man before reaching for the first one, her eyes drinking in the titles of what he had. She found it interesting, the combination itself; history and children’s books, ones that from what she noticed over the years should help little humans learn. It sparked her curiosity that much more and she grabbed a chair standing not that far from her and took a seat next to the boy.
“What is it?” she pronounced every word a bit slower than usual, smiling as she did so. She knew that he probably wouldn’t understand her long babble about the book and it’s contents so she simply took it from his hands, opening the first page and pointing at the words written.
“Italian history.” she flipped the pages, looking for a picture, and stopped once she spotted a map. Her fingers slowly trailing down the lines of her home country, her mind wandering a bit to the times she was born.
Gabriela shook her head, trying to come back to the moment and looked at him again. “Probably of no interest to you, though.” she placed it back and focused on the little book he was reading before she approached him. She tried to think of a simple way to put her question, but the fact that she didn’t know much about him or his progress in the language made the task more difficult than she thought.
“What country are you from?” she pointed a finger at him, wondering if he knew simple words like that.
"Me, from?"
He didn't understand everything about the question, but it proved that he understood enough. How oddly interested, and equally interesting the girl before him was. Merlin, quite honestly had no idea what 'Italian History' was; though he was eager to have a look at the map as she pointed it out.
When she finished he clocked that the place she pointed out had some deep significance, both by her tone of voice, and how her eyes glased over when mentioning it. As she placed the piece back on the shelf, he payed close attention tp exactly where she put it, just incase he wanted to look at it another time, (though he would mostly be looking at pictures if that was the case). But before that, it was probably best to answer her question.
To help him do so he begun to rummage through the pile of books on the desk in search of the accurate book to show her in return. Peculiarly enough the young warlock pulled out the only 'fiction' book in his pile, and if that wasn't enough he continued by looking through it. The book itself stood out because of the two bright dragons, and grand castle depicted on the front, it's title 'Arthurian legends'. Merlin flicked through it, stopping as he hit a page with a map on it. It was however far less detailed then the one Gabriela had just shown him. He turned the book around, and slid it along the table so it would face her. He then pointed to the largest district on the map which was read 'Camelot'.
"This is Camelot. This is my home." He spoke and circled the aria on the page with his fingertip. He admired the page in a melancholy haze, the circles he drew with his finger begun to drag out. A devine longing filled him, and merlin soon realised that the longer he devoted to these memoreis the harder it became to swallow. It would seem that nostalgia walks in the shadow of all good memories.
Eventually, he did come back to the conversation doing his best to fake a smile.
"I am Merlin. I... am lost."
Not sure if this has been put on tumblr yet, but holy shit!
I watched this, and my mind was blown. Breath taken away. I have no words for this video. Amazing doesn’t really cover it all.
I love how they used clips of Colin and Bradley from some other shows they’ve done.

“Yeah, that’s right.” Benji smiled, taking the hand offered to him and shaking it kindly. “Can I get you anything to drink?” He asked, speaking slowly and motioning taking a drink with his hand. “Water?”
An eyebrow lifted. Merlin nodded. He didn't mind what he had, he was after all a guest, but secretly hoped it might be something warm. His eyes wandered around the room, curious of what the place Banji lived in looked like. With him being so different from anyone Merlin had ever met before, he took a great interest.

sneaking glances
Gabriela felt time ticking, crawling, to be exact. Yet another long hour passed, her eyes darting between the book in her hands and people coming and going, never stopping for more than a second; just to cast a glance or two her way. Humming silently while flipping the pages of yet another book, her gaze finally stopped on someone. A man, who for some time had attention of few other’s, but it faded quickly, as everyone seemed to be involved in only themselves.
Even if some more time have passed, her eyes always seemed to find their way back to him, a spark of curiosity burning ever so much more intensely. Questions she shouldn’t have now settling in her mind, distracting her from the words written. Without even thinking further her feet were already carrying her towards him, a smile playing on her lips as she noticed what kind of a book he was holding in his hands. “Good choice.” she whispered once closer to him, smirking slightly. Gabriela didn’t even know why she came to him, yet something had to be done and so she held her own book out for him now, turning conversation to some casual polite chit-chat. “You should try this one, I believe. That is if you’re interested in something more than only children’s books.”
Similar to the girl's stack, next to Merlin lay several books, though most very unorganised. At the bottom of the pile, there things as simple as 'white rabbit's colour book' and 'my first number book', but next to them historical books which overflowed with pictures of chain mail, swords and relics from the dark ages. It was a very odd mix, especially as the book in Merlin's hands was 'Where's spot?'.
It was a surprise that someone approached him. At first he had thought he might be in trouble, but seeing Gabriela's calm expression gave him the feeling that he wasn't. Merlin welcomed the conversation. After all it gave his eyes a break fromt the constant reading.
Merlin listened and took in what words he could. He healed his words back and flicked to something nearer the end of the book. There it was, and he pointed, it read 'good'. Merlin flipped the cover of his book, double checking what it was before looking up to the girl.
"Good?" To his great surprise he understood that, and a bit more. The young man replied with a smile, and then; "þu þancest." (Thank you)
He followed her gesture to a book on the side. "Hwa'... uhh.. What is-?" He started flipping through the book again before he recalled the word he was looking for. "Hwat is it?" He was glad she walked over, reason or not.
Twenty-first century
He could tell that the man didn’t find the ice pack particularly pleasant and when he commented, it sounded like he was saying ‘cold’. Benji nodded and when the other man smiled a little and took the ice pack in his own hand, he was relieved.
He watched him point to himself and say his name. Merlin. Benji gave a smile in return and tapped his own chest.
“Benji.”
It would seem that the worst day of the boy's life did in fact have a silver lining.
"Ben-ji...?" Merlin held his smile and shrugged in acceptance before sticking his hand out for a handshake. He did hope those existed here. He did felt a deep obligation to repay the man somehow, even if he had no idea how to yet.
Katerina Morgan
Katerina began her way walking the way she planned to go. She had planned to check the woods the see if it was true, about a possible werewolf pack camping out around here. She realized she couldn’t keep going as she had planned she could feel the boy following behind her and stopped. “So, now you’re following me?”she questioned the boy tilting her head to the side.
Blinking, and feeling a little lost or words Merlin didn't mean to cause something awkward, though it would seem that he had. 'Following' and 'me' was what he caught his attention this time round, but it was in a confused or curious tone. He stayed quiet before he replies with eyebrows pressed. "...Yes?" At the very least he was honest.
But it didn't seem that would fix the situation, at least not that alone. Maybe he should... introduce himself? There was no real harm in trying.
"I'm, uhh... Merlin." Hey that was pretty good, it sounded right. The boy was quite impressed with himself.

Benji managed to get them to his flat without too much trouble, though several people decided to stare along the way. Once they were inside, Benji pointed to a chair for the stranger to sit and went to retrieve an ice pack from the freezer.
“Ok, this is going to be cold.” he spoke slowly, gently placing the pack to the man’s head.
The journey there was intriguing. Even though people stared at him on the way he was quite honestly too busy staring at the sights to notice. From benches to street lamps, and of course the horror that was 'cars', but on arriving, which was thankfully in one piece, Merlin continued to listen closely. He followed the man's finger to the chair, and did as he was told by sitting in it. It was strangely comfortable. Really comfortable in fact.
Merlin's attention to the situation came back as Benji approached with the ice pack, which wasn't an item Merlin recognized. He wondered what the other's words ment. 'Going', 'this', 'be', and of course 'cold'. When the ice pack finally reached his forehead Merlin had no idea what to expect. His eyes widened at the sudden cold, and while one eye shut tight Merlin forced the other open which gave an awkward and very uncomfortable expression. "Hit si ....ceald" (It is ....cold.) It took a lot for Merlin to not push the ice pack away at first.
Being as unpleasant as it was Merlin tried to smile. How the other kept something so cold in a something that looked like a cubed, without it melting was astounding.
The kindness that the ginger man offered him was something outstanding and unforgettable. He could have ignored him in that alleyway but he chose not to and for that Merlin was in his debt. The boy took the pack with a hand so Benji would no longer have to hold it, he then felt the deep wish to try to introduce himself. Taking his spare hand he tapped at his own chest three times, saying only one word, but with a smile. "Merlin."
sneaking glances

He entered the building on a whim, and was quite glad he did because the room he was in now was a Library. It didn't take long for him to dig into a book. It was a simple one, something a young child would read but it did the trick when it came to learning the language. He was trying to do some research and learn more modern words.
Without a change of clothes however; and being a grown man reading a children's book, needless to say he stuck out like a sore thumb. He ignored the passers by who stared at him, and soon enough they started to ignore him also. It had been a short while, and every now and then he felt his eyes glance over the book catching the figure of a young looking blond across the way. He didn't know why she stood out to him.
Twenty-first century
Benji watched the man who seemed to be thinking a lot. When the stranger pointed to his head and asked for help, Benji knew he had to do something. He could maybe take him back to his flat and check him there?
“Ok.” Benji started, hoping the man understood him. “If you come with me, I’ll help you.” Benji pointed to his own forehead on the word ‘help’ so he understood. Hopefully it would work.
Curiosity filled Merlin's eyes. He nodded slowly, not exactly knowing what he was nodding to, but it all clicked when Benji threw in a bit of body language. Merlin smiled showing thanks, and he'd follow the Ginger stranger if he'd lead the way.
Katerina Morgan
“Yes, sorry, I’m not following you, at least not trying to, just wondering about.”Katerina said before moving back a bit before turning to go in another direction. “I’m Katerina, by the way.” she said giving him a soft smile. “I’ll keep my distance, this actual was the last straight path before I made a turn.”
"Ah." Merlin nodded, pretending to understand everything she said. He mimicked her smile, mainly because she seemed kind, and because it felt natural to. Now Merlin watched her make her turn and carry on her way. And while the short conversation between the two would normally be just that, it didn't seem like fate would let that be the case.
Merlin understood a few things about what the girl had said. he understood 'I'm Katherina'. And asides from the casual 'I', 'this' and 'the' he understood one more word in the sentence; 'follow'. It was the only other word that really popped out.
With no where to go, and little to do besides wander, the young warlock did exactly that. Merlin followed her, and stayed alert just incase of any fowl play.
That ghostly fear

"No..."
WIth the ghostly face of fear, Merlin felt his stomach drop. He was lost, he was tired, he was week and now he was face to face with what he had every reason to believe was the witch of Camelot.
"M-Mor...gana!" Náe... náe se sy ne onhagian." (M-Mor...gana. 'No'... No that's impossible.) So sure that she was the woman in mind merlin was certain she would understand him.
