it was some kind of conspiracy, she deduced, that made people in this town friendlier as the weather got chillier. it was as if they knew she’d prefer to be without their company that made them all the more eager to insert themselves into her solitary narrative ( something she was typically good at maintaining ). she’d only just narrowly escaped the clutches of a chatty group of church ladies when she fell into step by adam. ‘ friendly ’ wasn’t the word she’d use to describe the relationship between the wolf and the witch, but ‘ hostile ’ wasn’t right, either. “ considerin’ half this town doesn’t know how to operate a computer, i’d say your prospects aren’t so bright. ” leaves crunched beneath the soles of her boots, serving as pleasant enough background noise in the otherwise still autumn air. “ though, i will admit, your conditions are pretty much cornerstones of my personality. ”
if there was a few things adam loved - the pretty little wolf girl was able to cross them off. she was beautiful, shared his type of humor and most importantly; actually giving him the time of day. ‘ aren’t you suppose to be in before the moon comes out or somethin’. ‘ adam teased. ‘ if you need somewhere to go, my doors always open. ‘ he wasn’t exactly sure why he was flirting with her. it was just one of his many unneeded traits. but it was also his way of easing into an actual conversation if his partner decided they’d stay around for more of his bickering. and truly, he did want her to stay. not for potential kisses or to take her home. but because lately, he’d been feeling a little left out of simple activities and getting more attention had become an everyday part of his to-do list.
