When you travel as much as Tyki and his companions did you take work where you can. And since they were following the work South since this was now the fall of the year any night they could find a place to hold up for the night was a good one. Since he was by far the best at hiding, as voted by his group, he was the last one to sneak into the showers they had set up for the employees at the Carnival. This was really a lucky break because the plan was also to mix in with the working and get food too.
Being someone though living a life of a Hobo he still took his time when doing things like showering. He would often think of the Egyptian cotton towels and Karl Lagerfeld bath products he had back in his place in Las Vegas. Not to mention decadent things back on the Ark. But this life was different, simpler and without those sorts of trappings. And for a time at least it was where he belonged.
Hearing the other workers chatting among themselves this was good because it meant he wouldn’t stand out so much. Giving himself a final rinse something felt different, he could still hear the other people talking but the sound in the makeshift stall seemed to have changed, then he felt a cool breeze.
Joyd stirred slightly, this was not the time for that. But it seemed the Noah within was alerting him to the presence of another that wasn’t like those he was around. Turning he saw a man that probably knew he didn’t work there.
“Hey!” He said turning to face the other and he continued to quickly rinse off, “I hope there is still some food left cause today has been a hell of a day for maintenance. But don’t tell I came and snuck a shower in here.”
It had been a long, hot day, and secretly, Xander was cursing their scheduling coordinator. Why the hell would he put them in Arizona before it even reached October?
Luckily, they would only be touring through the end of fall, then winter would start his time off.
Once he was stripped of his clothes, the Brit sighed. All he’d wanted all day was to go back to his trailer and sleep after a drink of whiskey, but the showers beckoned him first.
Hearing the other’s voice as he walked in, he paused, feeling something off in the stranger’s tone.
“Yeah, I’m sure....” he muttered, walking into the next stall and turning on the water.
“I don’t care mate. Everyone needs a shower now and again,” he mused. He knew thieves had a way of sneaking in from time to time, but if all they were taking was food and a damn shower, who was he to judge?
“Far as I know there’s food. You can have my portion at least. I went by a bit ago, but I just wasn’t much in the mood.”
