Nobody tells you that 90% of being a fic writer is telling yourself sternly that you CANNOT start a new wip until you finish one of the old ones, and then failing to write anything at all as your brain sulks like a toddler.

for real, if you see a fic that seems abandoned but you really want to see if it might be completed

i would genuinely suggest not mentioning the fact its abandoned at all. instead, just leave the most effusive comment you can. tell the author specifically what you liked. if they are in a position they might continue it, you might remind them what they liked about the story, and thus maybe revive it.

that is probably your best bet to get a story finished, much more than asking “hey is this abandoned” or asking for it to be continued.

I love the way Withthekeyisking writes. This story feels so oppressive, almost emotionally claustrophobic as you have to watch helplessly how Dick's mind breaks despite how hard he fights to stay true to himself. A great read if you enjoy brainwashing and mind break.

A Dick whump fest, for those who enjoy Dick suffering. And suffering he does, Slade is cruel and brutal in this story, methodically destroying and gaslighting Dick and reshaping him into exactly who Slade wants Dick to become.

Another one for Problematic Poker. Dark and twisted, starts subtle and then grows progressively darker the more you read, impossible to deny. For all that Bruce isn't a main character, his subtle dark web of manipulative grooming and abuse surrounds it all.

This time I discover a rather sweet gunkink Slade/Dick story, which despite the tags ended up being more like badly negotiated kink than actual dubcon, but YMMV. I continue my adventures in exploring and searching for new stories for Problematic Poker and this time I found a great angsty, super dark and nasty piece that brings Jason's suffering to a new level. This was so brutal and hard to read at times, and yet I loved every second of it. For those who like dark stuff and competent Jason and a horrible, horrible, horrible Roman.

I found this plotty Tim-centric story while playing the Problematic Poker event. If you're looking for Tim angst, recovery, hopeful ending and a story in which Tim is still quite clever and resourceful despite what lives throws at him, this might one to check out. I enjoyed reading it.
