Pluto In Aquarius and The Agency of Children
Pluto has been in Aquarius since November 19, 2024. It is currently only in 4° as of 03.02.26. I have been noticing a rise of people choosing to be childless, and not wanting to bring kids to this world. We have seen this (and currently seeing it) in countries like South Korea, Japan, and in the USA.
And it is more than just a simple lifestyle choice, but I am noticing how people are changing the narrative of what was once "your duty as a citizen of society" to have kids, and now it is more of a "it's my personal choice." Personally speaking, having kids has always been a personal choice in my eyes. And that is the thing. "Why don't you want to have kids?" is a question that has been asked for far too long and it extremely disrespectful, and quiet frankly, I'm tired of dealing with stupid questions from stupid people.
Anyhow, the common theme of the countries I named is the patriarchal, horrendous, capitalistic hellscape people are forced to endure. Moreover, these countries also have serious, unaddressed issues when it comes to misogyny & sexual assault on women. The USA is not even trying to address these issues with any serious thought, and instead continues to restrict safe reproductive access for people with uteruses. The USA also is a country that calls itself "developed" but has one of the worst maternity leave policies. You want American citizens to have kids, but won't give them the time to be parents? Idiots. Furthermore in the US; food instability, how easy it is for a family to become houseless when people lost their jobs during the government shutdown, defunding important social programs, ICE raids, school shootings, the terrible education system, healthcare costs are too high, and the case of Jeffrey Epstein and the DEEPLY woven child sex trafficking ring that is, and the US government still wants to fix their mouths and ask when are people having kids and why won't they have more??? Complete idiots.
What I have noticed about Pluto in Aquarius is not just the rise of people choosing to not be parents, but starting to advocate for the agency of children, which gives me a sliver of hope. I've noticed on multiple social media platforms (in the US), of how people don't want to have kids because they don't want them to suffer needlessly. And I love that, because it has been long overdue the conversation of how children are in fact an oppressed class of people and deserve their own agency. Children are the targets of so much abuse whether it be physical, mental, sexual, emotional, financially, psychological, etc. and then people get confused when they grow up to be adults that can't function well. I'm not a mental health expert or child psychologist, but I can say with confidence some people unfortunately can not come back from traumatic experiences without proper help and guidance. Even then, depending on the level of trauma endured, even a good community/therapy/other guidance may not be good enough. So we gotta start early. And I love how some people are noting that if the government doesn't even care for kids in the foster system or in adoption agencies, what makes you think they would care for kids that are in nuclear family units from birth?
So, it starts with advocating for children. You don't get to choose when to infantilize and when to adultify a child, especially Black children and other children of color. Children are to be treated with respect, and respect does not start at 18 or 21.
I'll even say this as I am a Black person (so if you're not Black I really don't want your perspective), the Black community also has alot of work to do with the way we treat and have treated children. The world is harsh and unforgiving to Black children, no need for us to add onto the pain and cause more trauma for our Black kids. That literally makes no sense.
Anyhow, if we are going to talk about liberation or any other buzz word I have been hearing, let's actually focus on helping the people who will eventually have to grow up in this world, our children. Adults love to say "Well, life is hard so I have to teach you to live in it," and it's rarely "Life is rough, so I will tell you the dangers of it and let you decide, but I will never let you suffer any horrors or let you be in danger." There is no point of freedom if we are still playing power dynamics on our children with no end goal of using our power to help them/protect them.
And stop being scared to call out child abusers (and I don't even mean of the sexual kind, but they are definitely included just so we're clear). Stop enabling abusers. You gain nothing from doing that and you're only putting more innocent lives in danger.
Back to astrology before I close this post, Aquarius is traditionally Saturn ruled. Yet, it is an air sign. Air signs like to focus on social constructs and live through them. Being an air sign and ruled by Saturn, Aquarius energy reevaluates the social norms we've allowed. And with Pluto in Aquarius, we have alot of reevaluating to do. If children aren't part of the conversations of freedom and we adults continue to oppress them, then what do you think the future holds when they grow up?
Exactly. Now think on that.
As a person with multiple 5th house placements, I've been wanting to make a post like this for a long time.
I love how the Pluto in Aquarius transit is not “anti-kid” like some people thought but “let’s stop dehumanizing children and start treating them as people with thoughts and feelings and not an extension of the adults that birth them” and I’m really happy to see that.

Saturn in Aries and fighting back!
I read this quote in this book called Burn Down Master's House by Clay Cane that really sums up the energy of Saturn in Aries:
"You strong. Stronger than any of them know. But strength ain't just about standing there taking it. Sometime, strength is about knowing when to strike back." -Chapter 2.
I believe many people think Saturn in Aries means that you have trouble keeping yourself contained, and this could be possible, given this placement is Saturn's fall. Yet, the flip side of this placement are people, like myself, who struggle with asserting themselves because Mars and Saturn are battling each other over what is the right thing to do vs. what is the RIGHT WAY to do something.
It also depends on aspects, as people with Mars-Saturn aspects in their chart can relate to the latter. And I have also noticed the minute a Mars-Saturn person (no matter the aspect) fights for themselves, they realize they have more power than they once thought, and the restriction was in trying to "follow the rules" and do things "the right way."
Yet, you can't do things "the right way" if the rules come from a person/institution that was built on oppressing others and only survives by eradicating the innocent and taking away their things, livelihood, dreams, and humanity.
Fight back this transit.
