This dumbass girl I know has been ADAMANT about anti-vax and anti-masks, arguing with people promoting science and everything…well she’s been begging for prayers the last week because someone in her braindead family finally caught covid and her mama was on a ventilator. Well guess what? Now her mama’s dead and she’s getting the mf vaccination because it had to touch her personally before she gave a fuck!!! I think there’s a really unfortunate trend in people’s thinking that like, belonging to a marginalized or oppressed group makes you an ethically better person (either generally or individually) and like that sort of moralism is really unhelpful to any discussion and also doesn’t track into reality. It also results in like, someone’s status as an oppressed person being revoked by their individual moral failings, which obviously makes no actual sense

My roommate in college said she used to have really bad panic attacks when she was younger so her grandma taught her to knit because it had helped her with her nerves, so I’d always know when my roommate was anxious because she’d be sitting at her desk in the corner with her knittin sticks pretty much smoking 😂😂 I still have a headband she made me for the winter somewhere. She said she made so many things that she just started giving them to whoever would take them 🤣
