thinking about the concept of lu guang revealing to cheng xiaoshi that he's gone back before. cheng xiaoshi is angry at him and they argue, but before they have the chance to make up, cheng xiaoshi dies. it was a doomed timeline. one that will forever remain unresolved.

then, every time lu guang considers telling cheng xiaoshi going forward, he has that in the back of his mind. he only had the anger and the death. in his head, if he tells cheng xiaoshi? cheng xiaoshi leaves his life forever. having the faith to try again, the hope that it could turn out better and that cheng xiaoshi would return after the initial backlash? that the last he sees of him alive isn't a face full of rage?

well, hope was always cheng xiaoshi's job.
