We recently cut a 2” thick composite layup into about 50 test coupons in many thicknesses and orientations to allow researchers at @umasslowell to study the effect of defects in large composite layups like those in wind turbine blades. Really interesting to see transition into the intentional defect. This work was all done with our @omaxcorp waterjet.
