ABOUT MASON

Mason was an 18 year old high school senior. He was star of the baseball team. On Halloween night he and his team went out partying. They had a few drinks and his team dared him to ok go into a supposed haunted house. He went in and was never seen again. His friends heard a crash and a scream and took off. He was reported missing by his parents the next morning. Police interviewed his team mates, but they were all scared they’d get in trouble for drinking and said that Mason took off after their party. The police searched for a year. His parents held a funeral and buried an empty coffin. No one in town knew what happened to Mason. Except of course his baseball team who dared him to enter the house he died in. To this day Mason’s story is a mystery and unsolved. His ghost however haunts the halls of that house.

Hey there, I’m Ashlynn, please call me Ash. I’m 31 years old. I work as a CNA at a center for developmentally disable. I work full time 7am-3:30pm mon-fir I love writing, it’s been something that I love to do since I was young. My muses & blogs mean so much to me as well as all of my rp partners. I do have a very active mind. I tend to get fixated on certain things and characters, especially the characters / muses I write. I like having a lot of blogs and muses. More often than not I will jump from one to the other and so one. So please bare with me. I have a list of all my blogs so you can always find me. I do have a discord so ask for it if you’d like it.

—She spun around, losing her footing as her arms spread out wildly. The breath she'd been holding was knocked clean from her lungs when her body made blunt impact against the wall behind her. Immediately, she wrapped her arms around herself in a feeble attempt at protection.

She would surely be the first to die.

Liora quietly accepted this in her mind and cautiously opened her eyes as the other spoke. She hadn't expected this place to be occupied, aside from perhaps a few animals claiming the abandoned house as their own, or the occasional creaks and groans typical of old, empty spaces. But here stood someone, without subtlety, without the eerie anticipation or unnerving feeling that typically accompanied being followed. No, this was entirely unexpected, and yet somehow perfectly fitting, given the house's unsettling aura.

She didn't say a word. Quietly observing, she focused on steadying her breathing until reason gradually overtook her panic-filled thoughts.

"Wh-when did you get here?"

It was a silly question in a possible murder scenario, but Liora had always expected she'd meet her end sooner rather than later.

There was a pause, like she was weighing the danger before saying more.

“I, um, I hadn’t heard someone coming,” she added, her hand now hovering awkwardly near her chest. “I mean, I know there’s such a thing as being light on your feet, but… sheesh. Maybe walk a little louder next time, ya know?”

Her eyes scanned him warily, though some of the fear had faded into a dry, anxious humor. “I nearly accepted death and everything.” She exhaled, almost laughing. “So, what, are we both just… deciding to trespass on a Tuesday?"

"When?" He asked. "Well Halloween, 1986. I don't know how long ago that was exactly, the days and months and years kinda just melt together after a while, but by the looks of your clothes it has been a long time." He made a face.

"The hair is great though, what do you use for it?" He asked with a grin. "Sorry, you just called out so I thought I'd answer." He shrugged. "Trespassing? You maybe but me nah, this is where I reside. I guess I could leave, I don't know. Nothing out there left for me so." He shrugged.

"You really should be careful, because this place is haunted. Like people have died, gone missing. Shit like that." He explained. "Oh, I'm so rude. I'm Mason. I'm a ghost." He held out his hand.

"Congratulations on your first haunting."

Brown eyes watched as he perched himself on the awning of a closed down shop, one with a "retail space available" sign that had been up just for a week. The owner had mysteriously disappeared one night after closing, after having tried to make a pass at Star, and well... The rumors of Santa Carla remained.

"In a sense. Unless being undead means I'm not real," she replied, the words falling easier from her lips than Star would have liked. It had been decades since she had completely turned, but even still, it hadn't meant she was used to it, or liked it. Softening her eyes, she offered him a smile, extending out a hand, bracelets jingling softly as they fell down her wrist. "I'm Star."

Mason didn't leave the house often. He wasn't stuck there but there was never really a reason for him leave But he felt cooped up recently, he missed the world. So here he was, walking the pier, a soft pretzel in hand a cup of warm cheese in the other.

"Undead?" He was curious. He smiled. "I'm Mason." He said, holding out the pretzel, offering her some. "You been on the ferris wheel yet? It's been a while since I've been on it. You wanna join me?"

Part of the fun of exploring an abandoned building was that it was abandoned. There was no one around, which meant it was actually nice and quiet for once. But whatever, apparently this guy had not just decided to visit, he was going to follow them around.

“Why would I be afraid of monsters? I mean, they’re all different, so judging them as a group would be shitty. Plus, I like to hope monsters would like my vibe.” For someone who is annoyed, they are taking his question very seriously. “Same with ghosts. They can count as monsters too.”

"Yeah know I guess you're right." He nodded, crossing his arms over his chest. "No no no. See ghosts are different. Ghosts are people who died. Yes ghost can become monsters sure if they let it get to that point but I would classify ghosts as monsters., they're totally different."

her smile returns to her lips shrugging to him and nodding. " well, yeah. i'm like really good at reading vibes and stuff. " nothing about him gave off the same evil energy like the rest of the house. like he wasn't supposed to be here. " yeah.. a lot of people have.. haven't they? it feels so.. crowded here. " too many souls trapped in one house, it was overwhelming.

as salem listens to his story her eyes grow glossy, always emotional, but they're easily blinked away and she sighs softly. " i'm so sorry.. that's.. that sucks. " being torn apart and dying in this dark creepy room. she couldn't imagine it.. eyes look off, thinking for a second before looking back to him and pausing. " he was.. the original owner I mean.. he was a montgomery, wasn't he? " she had gone on that stupid ghost tour years ago with friends for fun. they all laughed when they said her last name but.. being here.. what if they were related?

eyes stare off, blank for a second before nodding and letting him lead her away and up the stairs. " why did you even come down here? " though she couldn't judge, she willingly walked into this house too.

"Vibes and stuff?" He grinned. "Well lucky me I guess." He chuckled. "Honestly, I think there's spirits here that I haven't even met, and I've been here since the 80s." He told her with a shrug.

Mason sighed. "Yeah well shit happens. If it makes you feel any better I was drunk when it happened so a lot of it is kind of a blur really. Pain didn't last too long." He explained.

"Charles. Yeah total freaking weirdo." He shook his head. "Seen him a few times. His wife Nora, she's real sad. She lost her baby." Mason looks back down to the darkness.

"I don't know. I think I just wanna understand the place a little bit more." He shrugged. "Mostly I just sit and try to stop people from coming down. I don't want them to end up like me."

" what the fuck ?! " quinn looked at him startled, confused and probably a thousand different emotions. he didn't seem . . . normal, to say the least, she simply couldn't explain what was going on. " what are you doing here ? who are you ? "

"Shit sorry." He said holding his hands up in defense. "What am I doing here? You called out to me. 'Hello is anyone here?'." He smirked. "Here I am." He nodded.

"But I'm Mason...Mason Finch. Surprised you haven't heard of me. Then again it's been a really long time."

The ghost looked down at the girl. "Yes." He nodded. "Maybe not in the same sense as everyone else but yeah, I'm real. I'm here." He shrugged. Being a ghost could be confusing sometimes. There were even times when he actually forgot that he was dead.

salem's draw to the house was strong, she knew she shouldn't lurk around in the shadows, especially at night; and especially with the rumors surrounding the place. but she just couldn't help it, she just had to see it for herself. eyes look around the dark room, surprised at how quiet it all was. the voice behind her causes her to jump, though a smile grows on her lips seeing the other. " I can tell.. you're not evil.. " but something was, she could feel it.

her smile slowly drops with his words and a soft breath falls from her lips. " you were... ripped apart ? " her voice is soft, fear growing. this wasn't the same as walking around a cemetery, this could be dangerous for her. " are they here now.. ? "

eyes glance to the back door, frowning before looking back to him and taking a step closer. " can I help? "

Mason was always nervous when a living being entered the house. A lot of times the living never maid it out of the house. He felt soft of protective of her in this moment. "You can?" He asked curiously. "That's good. I don't like it when people get hurt here. Or worse." He said in almost a whisper.

The ghost looked around. "Yeah. I was. Hurt like hell. I was all alone, until the mother showed up. Told him to stop. It was too late though." He explained. "Thaddeus was his name. He was human once, but his father tired to bring him back after he died. He came back wrong. Inhuman. Craving flesh and blood." Mason muttered.

"No, he's hiding, I think." He shook his head. "But we should head upstairs." He put a hand on her back, leading her towards the stairs. "We can talk up there."
