Bridge Project
I'll be making a new trio as part of Bridge Project presented alongside fellow dance makers Leslie Kraus, Michael “Majinn” O’Neal, and Jordan MacIntosh-Hougham. The Bridge Project is Velocity’s four-week program for movement-based artists new to making work in Seattle, or who have been making work in Seattle for three years or less.

L’enfant et les sortilèges
Chicago College of Performing Arts Opera at Roosevelt University is proud to present Maurice Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges (The Bewitched Child). The great French writer Colette’s enchanting libretto fired Ravel’s unique musical imagination to create one of his masterpieces. A disobedient child is transformed when the things he has destroyed magically come to life in order to teach him a lesson. Performed by the entire graduate class of CCPA voice majors with members of the CCPA Symphony Orchestra, this production will be presented in the Studebaker Theater in Chicago’s historic Fine Arts Building. This performance will be repeated on Sunday, March 19 at 3 p.m. This performance is free and open to the public. Tickets are not required; seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information call: 312-341-2352.

closer by BodyCartography Project
I'm excited to perform with BodyCartography Project as part of The Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events SpinOff Festival!
closer lays bare the power of physicality and presence through a series of one-on-one dance performances, for one dancer and one audience, in public spaces and multiplies into an expansive performance experience and dance party. Together we play with how the meeting between performer and audience generates the possibility for something new.
closer will be presented by The Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events for the City of Chicago as part of the Fourth Annual “SPINOFF” Showcase of Contemporary Dance Made in the Midwest with local performers Joanna Furnans, Alana Parekh, Amelia Charter, Darling Squire, and Hope Goldman. All performances will be FREE!

Announcing Performance Response Journal
I am thrilled to announce the launch of Performance Response Journal! Co-founded by myself and Joanna Furnans, Performance Response Journal is an exciting new online platform for the Chicago dance and performance communities
Created in reaction to artists' dissatisfaction with the limitations of traditional dance/performance "reviews", the desire for a broader range of opinions on the variety of work that is presented in this city, the need to practice constructive critical analysis and the want to creatively connect with the art that is presented, the Performance Response Journal is an open platform for community members to share their responses to dance and performance in Chicago. In the spirit of similar peer to peer forums in other cities, PRJ is also a site for inquiry and investigation about the vitality of the Chicago dance and performance communities. To read more about the parameters, intentions and inspirations for the site visit our about page.
We want to hear from you. Check out the new website, spread the word and keep making good work!
