Qayinite Mustard Seed Ward
This was done without the traditional seals but a general understanding of mustard seed is as follows:
It causes enemies to disperse and be afflicted with sicknesses and confusion. As such, it is a baneful protective herb. It can be used purely for baneful qualities but also to invoke the spirits of Mars. Mustard is also associated with Shani Graha and can be used to placate Saturn. Zohal is the spirit of Saturn and teaches baneful magic to the Shaitani Witch, he governs the other planets, children of Iblis, with an iron rod. Saturn also rules over the occult and hidden aspects of life. Thus this herb can also break curses. The type of Mustard I used was black Mustard.
First, have a glass. Inside it, put a smaller container with your name and Holy Oil. On a plate, place the Black Mustard. Invoke Qayin seven times, asking him to provide strength during the ritual and for protection when invoking the Black in Green.
Blow cigarette smoke over the mustard seeds, invoking the spirit through prayer to bring disaster and sickness to those who attempt to harm you, and to protect you against any harm. Place the mustard seeds around the small container in the glass and blow smoke over it again, sealing it in the name of Qayin Rex Mundi and the Spirit of the Mustard Seed.
Theories of sigil magick:
Sigil magick is primarily understood from 3 different theories of understanding, these theories being the way of understanding how sigils are able to manifest. Practitioners will usually work with one of these theories, and will understand sigil magick from that point of view. From what I understand all of these theories are legitimate, and should not be looked at separately, but much rather together in order to have a higher understanding of the ins-and-outs of sigil manifestation. These theories I like to refer to as energy theory, consciousness theory, and psychological theory.
Energy theory:
Energy theory is the understanding that sigils work through the process of gathering up spiritual energy that is intended for a specific purpose, and when it is cast out that energy will go forth into the universe to manifest that intention. This is a theory that primarily works off the understanding of spiritual energy, and raising that energy in order to do a certain task.
Consciousness theory:
Consciousness theory is the understanding that sigils work through implanting sigils in the subconscious, so that they will be able to interact with the universal conscious in order to manifest a desired outcome. This theory works primarily off the understanding of universal consciousness, and how we are all connected to it, and because of that are able to influence it in order to make our desires a reality.
Psychological theory:
Psychological theory is the understanding that sigils work through the act of allowing you to focus on a specific construct, or situation, through the representation of the sigil. This is said to allow your subconscious mind to pull you in the direction of what you desire, by it suggesting to your normal waking consciousness certain decisions that will help you achieve your goal.
There are critiques, and criticisms to all of these theories but all of them support a very good understanding of the essence of sigil magick, and are all important to get acquainted with.
The Devil’s Triumph and the Resurrected Consort
This weekend I celebrate the Easter feast in familiar, yet inverted ways. This year, Venus rises in the morning briefly before the sunrise, and that comes with a slew of symbolism.
Tonight, Good Friday, I celebrate what I’ve dubbed the Devil’s Triumph with a sense of debauchery. Christ has been buried and Death rejoices in the demise of a God. This culminates with the rise of the Morning Star, seen as Lucifer making a brief escape from the chains of Hell. His mad dash for the Heavens is cut short however, by the rising light of the Sun, banishing him from sight.
Saturday will recognize the Harrowing of Hell, the release of purified souls from their cages, allowing them to pass in peace. A busy day for a sin-eater. I’ll spend part of the day at the cemetery and petitioning for the souls of the damned.
Sunday, Venus will play Her part again, this time as the Queen of Heaven, Who descended into the earth to retrieve Her slain consort (the Sun). She is the Magdalen and Aphrodite-Cybele leading the Nazarene and Adonis/Attis from the Underworld. My plans are to feast merrily and celebrate the return of the Green God.
A blessed weekend to you all.
People always ask me if I think it's a good idea to cast magic during Mercury retrograde. I definitely cast magic during Mercury retrogrades.
Protection magic is an obvious yes. Mercury does not impact that. Death work? 100 percent, Hermes was one of the only gods to enter the land of the dead and return to the upper world. A communication spell? Suuuuuure, if you're okay with it getting real weird. Retrogrades don't stop energy. They redirect it. They go at it from an unusual direction. (like the back of a Volkswagen)
Mercury is so changeable that trying to define their energy is challenging anyway. Your spell will manifest differently than when the planet is in direct motion.
That might even be the result that you are looking for. (if you've tried it all and nothing is working, maybe work with a retrograde, ya know?)
If you're a control freak, tho. Then nah...maybe just wait.
Would it be OK to make a luck or protection spell for the football team I root or is that kind of wrong ?
One of the oldest and most classical things you can do with magic. Honor your ancestors of spirit who were horny for the gladiators of ancient Rome and bless your local varsity golf team to your heart's content.
I know this is off-topic but what about a witch sport by proxy where you each choose a person to bless (and hex their enemies) and after a while whomever's proxy is doing the best wins the game
and also you're allowed to curse the other person's proxy and bless their enemies
Emanant Void Magick
Existence spontaneously emanates from nothing for no reason. That which exists which has limits as part of its definition. The non-existent has no limits and so allows all being to emanate from it.
Existence emanates from nothing, but it may build for itself its own structure to prevent itself from collapsing back into non-being. This structure may be static, such as the world of mathematics, or it may swallow non-being into itself as Void to create a dynamic self-organizing system which is constantly in a process of collapsing and emerging. This process is time, the experience of change.
This is the sort of existence that we inhabit. Consciousness is the Void at the center of our being. It emanates existence which self-organizes into dynamic structure that radiates from those forms closest to us, which are those things we call mind, which are somewhat under our control, out to that which manifests through us, beyond us, transcending ourselves to connect to others by a medium of objective existence where we surrender control for stability and the chance to connect with the Void of others beyond ourselves.
Magick is the process of working through the process of emanation of Void in order to shape our existence. Magick is made possible by the fact that existence has Void at its core. There is no fundamental nature of being, no fundamental truth. This allows us to influence existence in any number of ways that provide a structure for emanation to follow. Following chaos magick, we call such structures paradigms.
What emanant void magick adds to chaos magick is a description of the process of emanation which is used as a meta-structure in paradigm building. The process of emanation grows out in several stages of increasing complexity built around numerical relationships. Meanings are assigned to the numbers and the meanings deepen in complexity as needed to match the complexity of a paradigm built out from them.
Emanant void magick is non-dogmatic like chaos magick. The core ideas are laid out here. The numeric relationships are set as aspects such as which numbers are prime is set, but the particular meanings and associations are all mutable to suit the magician or group.

How to Consecrate Bones
Consecration is making something—a tool, spirit vessel, etc—sacred and imbue it power so that it can better serve the witch. This ritual is specific to working with animal bones and the departed spirits of those bones, especially skulls.
What You Need
• Animal skull (other bones might work)
• Something to cleanse the bones spiritually
• Witch’s holy water
• Honey, chamomile, + poppy seeds (optional)
• Representations of the elements e.g. incense, water, dirt, candle
Directions
1) Cleanse— First cleanse the bones physically, whether that means maceration, degreasing, whitening, or simply giving them a quick wipe-down or dusting. Then, cleanse them spiritually with whatever method you prefer. I use a cleansing incense.
2) Passing On— Death is probably disorienting, and I’ve worked with animals who’ve been shot by hunters or struck by cars so oftentimes I try to appease them or give them a sense of rest before trying to work with them. I was inspired by @shroud-of-roses’s Sweet Passing Potions recently and combined chamomile, honey, and poppy seeds to create an offering to subdue angsty spirits and sweeten their dispositions. The ‘passing’ part also ties into the next step.
3) Death—Shroud the skull and place it away, or preferably bury it in the Earth. Leave overnight. In life, we experience plenty of deaths. These enable us to leave something old behind and embrace the new. For our bones, this creates a clean slate and allows you to refocus them to your new purpose.
4) Rebirth— Smile as you sprinkle a holy water or holy oil onto the bones and welcome them to their new life.
5) Invitation— Ask the departed spirit to bind itself willingly to the bones, so that you may work with it and have it as an ally. Use whatever methods of communication you need, and anything to invoke the spirit. If the specific spirit doesn’t want to work with you, let it go. Invite another of it’s species in its place.
6) Blessing— Bless the bones with the four elements, and then imbue it with new life by blowing air and emptying your lungs three times, visualizing your energy going into the bones.
Working
Make sure to give your spirits regular offerings and cleanse their vessels! It’s very important that you take care of them for, well, the rest of your life unless you deconsecrate them. I find that they can make great allies for divination, spell-working, or protection. Consecration isn’t something to take lightly, you have a responsibility to the beings you’re working with. But that being said this is an awesome way to get into spirit work.
**I learned this process from Sarah Anne Lawless’s blog and have adapted it for my own practice.**
I believe in all new age magic stuff especially evil magic. I believe that you can completely summon a demon and talk to it using tutorials you see in a Discord server called Grove of the Shadows where everyone’s username is like 𝖈𝖔𝖗𝖛𝖎𝖉𝖆𝖊 in dark purple and the server has a dedicated channel for talking about weed. This is real to me. However I believe that Hecate takes away all your powers the instant you try to defend yourself from anyone making fun of you
Unless your spellcasting paradigm is literally "what I feel in the moment is the act of magic," you don't have to feel anything during spellwork for the spell to be successful.
For many spellcasting paradigms, this is like saying it's impossible to bake a cake unless you experience the metaphysical energies of the kitchen.
Alright sluts I need a favor
Hand of the Mysteries
[EDIT 09/29/2015: Reblogging to get this back on my site. Thanks to my originally omitting the link pre “read more” cut, it took me a while to re-track down the page in question.]
This is a Black and White version of [J. Augustus Knapp’s The Hand of the Mysteries] - Redrawn from an 18th century watercolor (artist unknown) originally described as, The hand of the philosopher which is extended to those who enter into the mysteries [X].
I am a member of a few different Alchemy groups on FB, and about once a month someone will ask about the meanings of the symbols in the Hand of the Mysteries / Hand of the Philosopher. 99.99% of the time, the “answers” given are of the, “you need to discover the secrets on your own“ variety. However, the other day someone gave link to an article that not only explains (or at least, appears to explain… misdirection is rather part and parcel of Alchemy) not only some of the meaning behind the symbols in this image, but also how they would be applied in the Alchemist’s work!
[Edit 09/29/2015: The article in question is actually a reprinting of Johan Isaac Hollandus’ The Hand of the Philosophers with its Secret Signs. [Archive link].)
I must admit, was extremely excited when I saw that link, and I was fascinated by the information on this page! :D That’s not to suggest there will be no other questions once you read and absorb this … on the contrary, after reading this I have even more questions! But at least they are more directed ;)
I’m not reproducing here everything from that page - I figured the info on the symbols and their meanings would be of more interest to more people. If you are interested in more information on how these principles are applied, I invite you read the full article at your convenience :)
Info on the symbols, after the cut…

From @graycloak :
1. The Thumb First look at the thumb on which stands the crown next to the moon, one quarter old. By this is meant saltpetre. For just as the thumb vigorously finishes off the hand, saltpeter does in the Art Alchemia, for he is the King and Lord of all salts. He is the mill through which everything must be ground. His nature is elsewhere sufficiently described.
2. Index The second sign and secret of the philosophers is the Star with six points, standing above the foremost finger next to the thumb. It is compared to Roman Vitriolo, because no work that is to be perfect can be completed without vitriol; for it is the greatest and strongest salt after saltpeter. Its nature is described.
3. The Middle Finger The third sign of the philosopher’s Hand is the Sun, standing above the third finger. By it, Sal Ammoniacum is designated, for apart from saltpeter and vitriol, no thing more powerful is found than *. That is why it is the third secret.
4. The Ring Finger The fourth sign of the philosophers is the Lantern, standing above the fourth finger of the Hand, whereby Alum Roche is indicated; for without alum, no perfect work can be accomplished, because it is required for the Red and the White. It has an astonishing nature and the most subtle Spiritus. It is described elsewhere.
5. The Little Finger The fifth secret and sign is the Key of the philosophers, standing above the little finger. Simultaneously, it is the lock of the hand. That is why the key is standing on it. By it, common salt is designated, for salt is the Key in this Art.
6. The Middle of the Hand The sixth secret sign is the Fish. It stands in the middle of the Hand and signifies Mercury, for without Mercury, or the fish, nothing can be done. He is the beginning, the middle and the end, and he is the priest who must marry everything. And he is the male and the seed; he is the water out of which all metals have originated; and he is the principal (factor) of all Arts, and the greatest of all secrets.
7. The Palm The seventh sign of the philosophers is Fire. By this Sulphur is indicated. It is the earth and beginning of all metals. It is the female who brings forth the fruit. For no seed can grow unless it be first thrown into fertile soil. Then beautiful fruit will come from it. Thus it also happens tat when a pure Mercury is joined to a pure Sulphur, it brings forth pure fruit. Thus, they are man and woman, father and mother, fire and water, seed and earth. This is sufficient about the seven secret signs of the philosophers. He who understands well this Hand and its sign, and can work with it, will derive joy from it. Now follows the Preparation.
The rest of the page has a lot more information on each of the things represented as well as things to then do with those things once you have created/deconstructed/understood them. This is not light reading.
The Zodiac Man appeared most frequently in calendars, devotional books of hours, treatises on philosophy, medicine and in Medieval Astrology. The concept of the Zodiac Man dates to the Hellenistic period and appears in Manilius's Astronomica. The Zodiac Man was used in medieval medicine to determine the correct time for surgery, medication, bloodletting, and other procedures. Attributed to Ptolemy, the foremost rule was to avoid interfering with a body part when the Moon could be found by transit in its corresponding sign.
