Oh my god guys have you thought that when the issue with Gadreel and Sam told Dean that he "saved" Sam just because he couldn't bear to be alone, BUT then when Dean dies at the barn, it was Sam that spent YEARS being lonely. I think that Sam years later would have understood Dean point of view, even if Sam is the type to "respect" decisions, such as letting Dean go, (Which is not true, he is just as terrible as Dean, but we didnt got to see a lot of that) I think that with Dean death it was such a slap in his face, a cruel irony of life, that it was always Sam the one who wanted to leave, and yet at the ending he was the one left alone and it was UNBEARABLE to him during his late years, the scene in the Impala touching the car is enough to see that Sam got the ultimate thing that he wanted, but at the cost of the love of his life and partner.

Been thinking that mystery spot sam and soulless sam are kinda similar. That's confirmation that sam and dean are soulmates (in my heart). Soulless sam let a vampire bite dean and mystery spot sam was doing all these jobs alone... They're not the exact same because in mystery spot he still has his soul and he had "emotion-based" reactions to the situation... What I'm trying to say is that dean is sam's soul in some way... sam is a completely different person without him, seemingly expressionless —very similar to soulless sam. The biggest similarity I found on my mystery spot rewatch was this line from the trickster: "Let me tell you. Whoever said dean was the dysfunctional one has never seen you with a sharp object in your hands." I also think he acts similarly when he's looking for all these crossroads demons trying to bring dean back after he goes to hell which keeps proving my point. Then again in s10 when he's looking for demon dean: makes a man sell his soul to find his brother because crossroass demons stopped showing up. I think sam's craziness over dean tends to be overlooked but that shit is mutual. Zachariah didn't call them codependent for nothing
