spn au with teacher!dean and student!sam

17 year old sam coming from an unstable home life

—essentially the same but without supernatural elements. mary is killed and john spirals trying to find the guy who did it bc cops gave up and stays out late at bars—

so he clings to his gym teacher / soccer coach and develops and unhealthy crush and obsession with him

dean tries to resist and guide sam along the right path but he would be lying if he said he never stared at the boys ass during practice or made him run extra laps just so they could spend extra time together

sam corners dean at one of his favorite diners late one night, awkwardly making conversation and (unsuccessfully) trying to hide his newly acquired black eye

“cut the crap, why are you here sam?” dean’s stare bore into the younger boy, setting his body ablaze and making him want to admit to every sin he’s ever committed.

sam gulped, letting the question hang heavy in the air until he couldn’t take it anymore.

“my dad kicked me out.”

dean stiffened.

“he kicked you out? why?”

“it doesn’t matter,” dean opened his mouth to say something but sam continued, “can i… can i just stay with you tonight?”

“with me? sam you can’t stay with me.”

“why not?” his voice was almost a whine.

“i can think of a million reasons why that’s not a good idea.”

“name your top three.”

dean gritted his teeth. he was never one to like a challenge, especially from someone 30 years his junior.

“1. you’re 16.”

“17.”

“close enough. 2. i’m 46. 3. im your teacher and coach.”

“exactly you’re my coach so it’s not weird.”

“sam if the school found out i could get fired. scratch that, i /would/ get fired. i’m not putting my job in jeopardy for you.”

cut to a few months in the future and dean is fucking sam across his desk during detention hours. after they’re done and are cleaning up sam laughs to himself causing dean to press about what’s so funny.

sam shakes his head and teases,

“i thought you weren’t going to put your job is jeopardy for me.”

dean is beet red and grumbling at the remark but says something like “that ass was too good to resist” or “i’m putting a lot more than my job in jeopardy by being with you”

Dean is the outward, dramatic, obsessive type. Sam leaves, tries to be his own person, or god forbid someone else tries to get close to him. Dean will complain about it, he'll talk about it. He might get violent about it and honestly that man in two bad days away from threatening to kill himself over it.

Sam is the quiet obsessive type. Its not that its not obvious or noticeable, but he's not claiming Dean directly. Hes being cold, he's taking notes. Hes that creepy guy staring down Dean's date till she leaves. He's keeping score. He's jealous and bitchy but its not quite obvious to a stranger that its cause he wants his brother like that. And if Dean leaves? Hes scrabbling to follow.
