Project #5
Trash day is tomorrow in my neighborhood and I felt that this would be the best way to get a message across to a person. Often times we like to hand out cold drinks to the trash men in the hot summer because a lot of people fail to realize how hard that job can be! I was thinking of putting these pieces somewhere on campus, but I felt it wouldn't be able to get across to enough people based on our obsession with social media and technology. I wanted to create images/statements I felt would stick with a person. This person has to physically pick up this trash can where they will unavoidably come in contact with a message. My personal favorite being “Thank God It’s Friday” which was inspired by a typical “Thank You” bag you might see in a restaurant. I’m all about thinking of clever ways to put out a message, especially those that are just subtle enough to make a difference.
