okay i know im doxxing where i go to school with this one but im pretty pissed off rn. at my university the past few years there has been someone who spray painted pink cats around campus. i always loved to see the cats on my way to class and so did everyone else i talked to about it. they felt like a unique part of our school. the person who created the cats (happy catshrooms) was arrested and has been ordered to pay $32,000 which is a fucking ridiculous amount. please consider donating to her ko-fi or sharing this post (i got her permission to share on tumblr.)

a few points from the article

she was arrested and the police initially refused to let her use the bathroom, then said she had to use it with the door open. (the way the cops treated her is not okay you guys i am actually so pissed off)

the police made her write an apology letter to the chancellor of the university, which they probably never even gave to him.

her phone was confiscated and she had to find her way home from woodland, which is about 10 miles away.

a retail job offer was rescinded because she failed their background check.

she was charged with a misdemeanor. fines for misdemeanors are typically about $1,000 in california, but she has been ordered to pay $32,000 in restitution by may 2026.
