the way people are responding to Yuno in Yumemita using chatgpt is fascinating because it's clearly being presented as a character flaw for her to overcome but some people are mad that it exists at all in the show? which is a lame point of view

a sympathetic look at someone who relies on a chatbot for social interaction could be interesting, especially for a show looking to focus on the good and bad of the modern internet

because like, it's not terribly different from an autistic person using a script, right? it's limiting in a similar manner, but can also help with difficult situations. Yuno's problem is that she's using it too much, so it becomes a crutch she is overly reliant

if handled well, this could be interesting for portraying the intersection of several issues in a way which shows why people are drawn to things otherwise seen as bad, but it could also take an overly simplistic approach in several directions. i'm willing to let it play out

I just caught up on yumemita, and i'm really liking it so far. The visuals are stunning, and the characters are really endearing. Arale is super cute. I'm really excited to see where it'll go from here!

it's kind of funny to watch that one video about how the lightning drakes in the valley of drakes have full animation sets for flying and for attacking you while flying and everybody in the comments talks about how terribly brutal it would have been if they had not cut that content, how impossible it would be to fight them with melee and how it would make the Valley of Drakes suck

because in King's Field IV they just had that with two big birds harassing you in the main hub area ALL the time and until you get end game spells to one shot them you basically just have to run through there quickly to dodge their fireball bombardment and from this experience I can say: 1) it is one of the most annoying fuck yous to players you can have in a game, and 2) they TOTALLY should have kept the flying drakes in the valley, running through there while being attacked by flying enemies that you can't meaningfully fight unless you have spells or a bow would have improved the area immensely

Kind of an ‘I should be able to solve every problem by killing every enemy without having to change my approach’ viewpoint that sucks the adventure and fun out of things
