The holiday really is over! Emilie was so thrilled to be back at preschool today. She really, really loved seeing all of her travel newsletters posted on the wall of her classroom!

When your 6 year old walks through this food court sobbing "I just really want a Vegemite sandwich", you know that it's time to go home! Sydney here we come!
What drink doesn't taste better with a cherry on top? A piña colada to celebrate our second last day of holidays!
Sweaty tropical nights! Waiting for the sea breeze.
Sunset, happy hour, happy days!!
Yes, that is a chicken drumstick in her hand! Jet-lag is such a ....! Especially when you are desperately hungry too! Sadly for Emilie (and her tummy), jet-lag beat hunger this round.
Those pounds were burning a hole in their pockets! A quick stop at a Harrods on our way to the gate. Emilie is especially pleased with her purchase as she has been trying to acquire a sporran since we were in Edinburgh!
These kids have had the most awesome times together this holiday. Gorgeous, all of them!!
We’re very lucky to have friends like these! Hope it’s not another 3 years between catch ups!
By luck I booked rooms in a quirky pub, in a gorgeous village and we were blessed with a balmy summer evening with delicious food. What a stunning way to end this adventure!
Final afternoon in Ireland. One last playground being enjoyed in this "heat wave"! The graffiti is really cute here too!
More spectacular hours of sun! I only wish that I had checked the tides for our visit - I suspect that high tide would be even more amazing.
Georgina played with the iPad this morning before Emilie was awake and this was the result!
Northern Ireland is really showing off now! Although all of the cafés that we tried for breakfast were closed, the castles and weather are both in fine form.
Northern Ireland has put on a pretty spectacular welcome for us! Nice of them to stay up so late!
Parenting Tip of the Day: Be Specific
For example, if you pointed at Ben Nevis and said to your kids "Climb to the top of that hill", it would have been wise to specify that you mean the first small hill. Result: Hill climbing for all the family! The upside is that it was very entertaining for the climbers coming down the mountain after their 8 hours of effort to be greeted by two "wee lassies" who assured them that they were going to "the top"!
Me: Look, a cuttlefish. E (looking extremely dubious): How does THAT give cuddles????
Emilie the Sceptic
We're all a bit besotted with the Utterly Otterlys. The seal was pretty cute too!
