I think I just can’t bring myself to fully agree with the “Bear is PURE EVIL spawn of satan, unequivocally sinister” consensus, mostly because he’s worse than that. He’s extremely normal and average, and dare I say not too different from most guys in their twenties. He’s real, and his reactions to things were fucked up, but they were also not far fetched in the slightest. When people act far removed from a character or person like this, I think that’s how cautionary tales can become distorted into tall tales. The danger is truly close, much closer than you think.

I think the strangest obsession of mine as a young child was my absolute enthrallment with Disney's 1940 Pinocchio. I am not exaggerating when I say that I used to watch it daily or as many times as my family would let me put it on the tv. To this day, well over a decade later, they all refuse to watch that movie because I made them sick of it. I watched it on LOOP.

It's just so absurd because it was like... a genuinely dark film. I remember just being equally horrified and obsessed. Something about the entire film just really spoke to me from as far back as I can remember.

Like... Rust. What an odd movie to be obsessed with. Baffling how much I loved it.

How do I explain to you people that interracial relationships are okay

Not every white person dating a POC is fetishizing. White people can be respectful and responsible when it comes to culture and relationships and not everyone has bad intentions.

Asian people can date Black people without you saying shit like “your kids will be so pretty” they’re not dating for pretty kids. They’re dating bc they like each other.

Someone can dress their partner in clothing from their culture if they want. Someone can take their partner to cultural events if they want.

People in relationships can share cultures, experiences and love without it being toxic or skin deep.

Their partner isn’t culturally appropriating. Their partner is being shown the ultimate form of love, bc their partner trusts them and loves them enough to share their history and heritage.

Yeah, dating someone from your culture is nice bc you automatically have similar experiences. But you’re not limited to dating people with the same experiences. Loving someone is sharing and growing and being together.

Interracial relationships aren’t always toxic, and some of y’all need to stop projecting onto other people.
