My friend Wesal (@deemagaza) doesn't speak English. The only way she can find her way around the English internet is by using Google Translate or ask others like me for help. It is very difficult for her.
Yet she has no choice but to do so for her daughter Farah, almost sixteen now, who is autistic and has a kidney problem that - without treatment - makes her deficient in potassium, which, if it becomes too severe, can lead to cardiac arrest.
^ Farah spends most of her days like this now, feeling uncomfortable in her body, but not understanding why.
Farah's medication has become unavailable in Gaza, which has endangered her life and means she has to be treated in the hospital, which is costly and where they are running out of resources as well. Farah's case has now been referred to the WHO to be transferred abroad. If the opportunity for evacuation arises, we must make sure the funds are available!

It's Juneteenth, I'm a Black Texan, descendant of enslaved Black Texans. Texas is the only state that fought two different wars to protect slavery and chattel slavery ended the last for it. Juneteenth to me is to celebrate that part of overt white supremacy coming to an end, but it was not the end of white supremacy. It did not stop, with the lynching, the police violence, the redlining, the environmental racism, the segregation. Juneteenth represents a good win aganist the fight against white supremacy, but it's not over.
And for this Juneteenth, I ask for help for my friends that are the victims of this same US white supremacy. Not just today, but everyday Gazans deserve any type of help that you can give them. Yesterday I heard from Ahmed and he was able to give me an update on his father. Ahmed says he is doing a little better, but he is still sick and needs more treatment.
The next chemo treatment is currently scheduled for April 28th. It will cost $835. Ahmed will need the money by 12am on the 28th, eastern european standard time.
In the past, the doctors had to postpone the chemo because we couldn't meet the goal by the deadline. I am hoping we can get the money on time, and not have to make Ahmed's dad wait and suffer longer.

Id like to apologize, in my previous update I switched the numbers around so it read 385 as the total goal instead of the correct amount. That was an error on my part that I did not catch until now. The goal is still $835, in case my mess up caused confusion.
