Niomi weeped as she made her way into Anti’s space. She looked around, holding her sleeves between her fingers as she cried. “Anti? Are you here?” She sobbed, walking around slowly. “Anti, I’m so sorry I left. I just wanted to say hi, I just needed to say hi. I can’t stay for long. But I’m so sorry.”
Anti was convinced he'd just been abandoned. That she had found someone new and moved on, leaving him behind. He didn't blame her but he just wished she would've said something to him. A part of him was bitter after having spent so much time in the dark, waiting for a day that seemingly never came.
Until today.
Her voice and presence in the space was like a spark of adrenaline through his body. He didn't show himself until a few long seconds later, stepping out into the light.
"I've always been here..." he said quietly. "Waiting... for you."
Niomi’s eyes widened as she saw his figure in the distance. Her sobs quieted as she bit her lip.
“Anti!” She cried, running towards him and clobbering him, embracing him as tightly as she could.
“Anti I’m so so sorry! I missed you, I’m so sorry my love, I just, I can’t believe you’re still here,” She yelled as happy tears began streaming down her face, “Thank you, for waiting for me.”
Anti was admittedly caught off guard as she came running towards him. He stumbled back a little upon impact, his arms slowly wrapping around her. A part of him wondered if this was a dream or some sick trick.
"I... what happened? Why did you leave?" He murmured, holding her against him in a way that showed that he was worried of letting go, out of fear that she would just disappear if he did.
Niomi looked back up at him with glassy eyes, slowly taking in the sight pf his brown locks and the way his beard tickled her skin as she rubbed up against it. Her eyes found her way to his beautiful baby blue orbs and she gave a grimace, before settling her head back down on his chest.
“I had to,” She sniffled, rubbing her nose on his shirt softly, “Anti, I have no excuse. I was just, in a bad point, I was stupid, and I felt like you didn’t need me around anymore. At that point in time a few people had made it clear to me that I was a burden to them, my own mother being one of them, and she disowned me from being her child. I decided that if I was such a burden to others, I must have been one to you, and you were just too nice to tell me.”
Her grip on his back loosened a little as she felt her heart sink slowly.
“If you moved on, it’s okay. I understand. But I just want you to know that I love you, I never stopped loving you, and I never will.” Niomi admitted.
“I love you, Anti. I still love you.”
