258,253 💪 Not only have I managed to break 1 mil words total this year, I've also beaten my 2021 wc record! (barely, since i only realized i was terribly close on the 31st of december, but it counts!)

I could not tell you. i write anywhere - in docs, in discord, in notes, on paper, plus there's always the zine jailed pieces - i could not even begin to calculate how many words i haven't posted xD

Fandoms:

BNHA has reignited properly for the Fic Fight, and I've entered a whole new fandom of SVSSS which seems to be going strong for now! I've also briefly dipped my toes into TBHX and a couple other fandoms, but those are more casual

New Things I Tried:

ah... hm. Well, I wrote an actual honest-to-god drabble and (those are connected) finished a whole bingo! other than that, i stumbled into liking to write even-wced fics (a total of 74 of them between fic fight and the bingo, where each event fic wc was an even multiple of 100) and, oh, i wrote a proper crossover fic! more than one, even, all with Shen Jiu (SVS3) stumbling around Mount Hua (ROTMHS) xD

Fic I Spent The Most Time On:

the way i tend to work is sit down, write, done. So it's hard to tell which fic took the longest :pondering: I think it has to be the Cold Plum, on the account of longest wc and the connected fics, the working on which i would consider under the umbrella of working on Cold Plum itself!

Fic I Spent The Least Time On:

hah ummm probably the drabble 😭 despite being 100 words only, the idea was proving to be very resistant to being written and it took whole 10 minutes (i checked the doc history to be sure lol)

Favourite Thing I Wrote:

okay so!!! in chronological order

1. And I have known the eyes already, known them all— The eyes that fix you in a formulated phrase - a TBHX fic shipping Lin Ling with Enlighter. the series only had like, 2 eps out at that time, so it was kinda like writing OCs, but i'm realy proud of it!!!

2. till his last breath, letters from the other side, socialization, another man's treasure and perspective rewritten - all BNHA fics written for the Fic Fight, covering respectively: "villain" Izuku taking down AFO, quirkless activist Izuku receiving letters from All Might, de-birdification of Hawks, AFO accidentally giving Izuku Decay and timetravel AU in which Izuku landed in the Dawn of Quirks!

3. heart of porcelain - a random original fic i wrote in the middle of the night. it gave me Feels and i still really like it!

4. And I have to know, so I'm going in ー I'm going in ー Let's try this again- - a SVSSS fic! one of my first ones (i think it was the 6th total?) in which Shen Jiu gets caught by the slavers and somehow it fixes QiJiu!! I'm really happy about how the braiding narrative turned out <3

5. 寒梅著花未？| has the cold plum blossom opened yet? - the crossover fic in which i ship Shen Jiu with Cheong Myeong! That universe lives rent-free in my head and I dearly hope i get to finish it properly!!!

I like all my fics, really - since the guy who wrote them writes exactly what i want to be reading xD - but there are definitely my favourite children amongst them lol

ooooh hard question. i try to keep track of my reading history (i'm lagging behind since october), but there's literally 700+ stories in there 😂 I've looked through my bookmarks, and i'll list some of those:

Puppy Love Need Not Be Temporary by Myakachan Very sweet BingJiu omegaverse!

溜墙根 - Sidle along the wall - Mamajiu Week 2022 by Raiiskaim BingJiu, except that A-Jiu has selective qi-deviation-caused amnesia which makes him unaware that he's the mother of Binghe's child. bit dark, so defo heed the tags!

Shen-shixiong by Ourliazo Cang Qiong Peak Lords being ride-or-die!! A-Jiu is a bastard, but he's THEIR bastard!

While the rest of us settle for skeletons by Azzandra Again with the amnesia trope, Shen Jiu doesn't remember ANYTHING and gets himself adopted into a minor sect!

Cellmates by Aryashi Faulty transmigration where Shen Jiu is around in Shen Yuan's head and makes him trip into a trap! YQY goes above and beyond in this one. The ending felt a bit odd to me, but overall it's an amazing fic!

Bitter Eggplant by aphilologicalbatman This one is actually MDZS! I only really care about Xiao Xingchen/Xue Yang in that fandom tbh 😔 I've barely read past that arc in the novel and decided that's it for me LOL But back to the fic, it's really cute, I liked XX's proud lil joke. So sad that it immediately got ruined by the reveal but I really like how the author handled the fall-out!!

Writing Goals for 2026:

More in the Cold Plum verse! More for SVS3 in general - I'm looking forward to another bingo blackout, muses be willing! Other than that, I prefer not to set any tangible goals, it never ends well xD

something that really gets me about disciple su xiyan is how, from everything we hear of her, she bears astonishing resemblance to one other character: she's basically disciple shen jiu but a woman. both of them are incredibly intelligent prodigies who have achieved the rank of head disciple based purely on their own merit. su xiyan is the prized disciple to an evil old man who seeks to use her and make her do things she doesn't want to do; exactly the relationship shen jiu just got out of with wu yanzi when he killed him. both shen jiu and su xiyan are particularly well-known as scholars. both of them are also known to be icy, ruthless, calculating. they also both give their own lives in an act of true loyalty and protectiveness towards their loved one (shen jiu to yue qingyuan, su xiyan to tianlang jun and their child).

interestingly, their storyline is very similar except flipped: su xiyan's beloved is led to believe she betrayed him, but later learns the truth (and admits he was never truly capable of hating or resenting her even before the truth came to light). shen jiu believes his beloved betrayed him and never learns the truth (though chooses to forgive him anyway).

not to mention how similar su xiyan and shen jiu look in the russian translation's official art - yes this scene is shen yuan but you know. it's shen jiu's body. and he's drawn alarmingly similarly to su xiyan.

Turning to look at Qi-ge's back, he wondered why he had even dared to hope. 

"...my leg is broken," he said, the words echoing those he had said all those years ago. Qi-ge couldn't see him then, either. "Qi-ge will have to go ahead alone. But he'll remember to come back for his Xiao Jiu, right? Maybe- maybe in our next life, we'll finally make it."

Qi-ge crouched down, but it was pointless. No matter how long he would wait, Shen Jiu couldn't heal that break on his own. Not with how little spiritual power his core had. 

"It's okay. I didn't- I didn't really think this would work," he whispered. It was true. He hadn't expected Qi-ge to save him, just as he hadn't back at the Qiu manor. "It's enough that you tried. That's- that's all Xiao Jiu ever wanted. For Qi-ge to try." 

Qi-ge's back was shaking, now.

it is, contrary to how it sounds, a fully sfw fic set in a canon-compliant omegaverse where the six named peak lords-to-be are alphas (mu qingfang, liu qingge, qi qingqi, shang qinghua, wei qingwei, yue qingyuan) and the rest are betas, except for the qing jing, where a head disciple is yet to be chosen

shen jiu is aware that his shizun would need to pick an omega - unless one of the other peak lords changes their mind on their successor - so what plot does he concoct? obviously, he's going to bitch himself to better his chances. and if he uses the head disciples to do so, he'd basically be a shoe-in for the peak lord role, right?

he doesn't do anything rash (mostly thanks to mu qingfang who realizes his scheme and goes "nope. you're coming to qian cao with me and we're drafting a proper transition timeline") and the whole fic would be just. other disciplds learning that the mental image they had of shen jiu is almost completely wrong, and shen jiu slowly learning how to let himself be loved

ft. yue qingyuan who finally gets to clear the air in regards to the "promised to come back, never did" fiasco, wei qingwei who gets a nosebleed anytime shen jiu acts "too cute", airplane!shang qinghue who uses his insider knowledge to play shen jiu like a kazoo (mostly plying him with sweets and interesting artifacts), qi qingqi who joins forces with the warm red pavilion jiejies, liu qingge who doesn't immediately assume shen jiu wants him dead, and mu qingfang who's not getting paid enough, but the cuddles are pretty nice

and of course shen jiu, who doesn't know how to handle this much attention and, in time, affection, but he has half a dozen people willing to stick with him through thick or thin, so he's gonna be okay 💚
