I was going to make to develop more on this au but honestly I got lazy and this is like almost a month old it should see the light*

“I have someone i want to kill”
Kayden glanced at the young girl setting just a few feet away from him. She was one of the kids Jiwoo often hanged out with a new addition at that -he couldn’t remember her name for the life of him but he’s pretty sure it was Cho something-
It was the first thing any of them said for the last thirty or so minutes of waiting for Jiwoo to come home. He almost thought she went mute from how quiet she was being
Currently they were in the basement getting ready for training or at least Kayden and Jiwoo were supposed to, he’s not exactly sure what she’s doing not the he cares much either way
“I’m not interested in hearing about your sad backstory”
He really wasn’t in fact he would rather if she went back to being silent as a mouse
“I don’t really care what if you do or don’t”
Her response caught him by surprise he assumed she was alike the other Kids Jiwoo hang out with, always watching what they say in case of offending him on way or another
-he couldn’t exactly blame them for that honestly as one wrong word and he will smit down everyone on their respective groups- but that doesn’t seem to be the case
“Jiwoo said i should talk to someone about my problems and your not a snitch so”
Kayden let out a huff he sure as hell wasn’t a snitch but the way she sounded so confident with her claim is irritating him
“You have no idea what i am kid”
“Either way you’re around and if you say anything to anyone i would just deny it all, besides no one would believe you we never interact without Jiwoo so as long as he doesn’t know whatever you tell him then it’s not true”
Kayden doesn’t know who this kid is but he sure as hell is ready to burn her to ash- and he would’ve had it not been for Jiwoo personally asking him to make sure the girl not be harmed
Although he had to admit her logic is sound and to anyone else it would even work, unfortunately for her Kayden word is basically Law. Even so she managed to hold his attention for now so why not hear her out
If Kayden was anyone else the kid never looking at him would have annoyed them -and it did at first- but Kayden was not anyone else and he out of everyone is easily able to tell when someone is not fully there. If he had to guess she’s probably back with whoever she wants dead
“The question is not what he did do but what he didn’t do”
The kid was muttering now which annoyed Kayden he doesn’t have the time to decipher any words he might not hear correctly, just as he was about to ask -read demand- her to talk louder she beat him to the punch
“Tell me Mr Break, why do you want to fight the top ten”
The question came out of the blue but from the context clues Kayden could guess exactly why she’s asking such a random question
He watched for any signs of a reaction but he received none, which did nothing but confirm the kid was in fact having flashbacks to what is probably the worst time of her life
“Haah that’s such a lucky answer”
That caused him to raise an eyebrow, he’s received many odd response to his reason and that has got to be one of the top ten-no the top 5 oddest ones
Nonetheless he kept silent waiting to see if she would say anything else
Just when he thought that was the end of the conversation she started talking once again
“Wanting to fight those kinds of monsters just because is a privilege you know, some of us don’t have that privilege”
Kayden didn’t expect to play therapist to a teenage girl at 7 pm while waiting for his apprentice to come home but guess that’s what he will be doing today
“The person i want to kill is one of the top ten. I’m not telling you his name tho”
“Don’t bother I’m fighting all of them anyway. You having one sided beef doesn’t matter”
It really doesn’t, he doesn’t even remember the kid’s name for Christ sake -he wonders if Kartein does, which he probably does and decides he’ll ask later once he and Jiwoo are both back-
The kid didn’t say anything afterwards and neither did Kayden. Jiwoo and Kartein came in ten minutes later with Jiwoo going on and on about how the gala went and how many people he knew were there-the kid really doesn’t seem to realize how many high profile people he knows and it most definitely shows-
