I don’t quite understand why people hate Harry Potter. It’s not childish, the community is very nice and the series is amazing! Why do you guys hate it?

Literally this. Like, yay, magic school ... oh, there’s some bloodlines who are implied and outright actually markedly superior than others because they just are. Blood purity is an actual thing that matters. The goblins ... well, other people, especially Jewish people, have gone on about the Jewish caricatures already, but suffice to say they’re not flattering. And then we have the race of slaves who are happy to be slaves, the 0% thought into the naming of minority characters, the absolutely batshit takes on ‘oh, this thing that was never referenced in canon or actually refuted in canon is now canon? k (re: Dumbledore being gay, Hermione being black ... )’ And it all funds or otherwise supports JKR, who, point blank, is actively campaigning for the end of trans people in the UK. Honestly, probably she wants to get rid of trans people everywhere, but y’know, start with your home turf I guess.
