so i’m angry and tired because i know other people have talked about this but it’s still happening so i’m saying it again:

STOP. REPOSTING. OUR. GIFS. AND. EDITS. ON. INSTAGRAM.

so these were all found in the mcrollins tag on instagram but don’t be fooled, this happens with other ships too and in the h50 tag.

so as you can see these were originally made by @ninety-threepercentstardust @tailoredshirt @beautifulwhensarcastic @ibysaurus @acceptanceispending and myself. not a single one of them was credited.

then there’s the people who somehow think someone’s edit is their playground or something, and add things of their own

(the irony of them adding their instagram url on top is just mindblowing)

like i don’t care if you found it on google or whatever, but it’s obvious the bottom right one was already editing by someone else, come on

why, you ask? well for one you’re stealing someone else’s work that put time and energy in and pretending it’s yours, which is not cool. also making screencaps of gifs kind of destroy the whole point of them being gifs but whatever i guess. plus instagram destroys the quality of edits half the time so it’s really not a good place to post these on anyway. and honestly what bugs me personally the most is that the actual maker of these things has no idea that people might like their thing. let’s look at this example:

29 notes, that’s it. it’s depressing tbh, doesn’t make me want to make edits again.

but the instagram repost (with credit i have to add, but still, it’s a repost):

707 likes?????

that’s a gigantic difference

and this is just one example that i’m actually aware of but my edits could be getting this amount of likes and i have no. fucking. clue.

what does this mean then? well that i think people don’t like my edits when it’s not the truth at all.

so please please PLEASE stop reposting. tweet links to tumblr post, make a tumblr yourself so you can reblog/like things, tell creators you like their edits, etc.
