they watch the different emotions wash over her face. she's entitled to each and every one of them. there's a bit of guilt in wren's stomach, same place it's been for years. they'd wondered what it would be like when they saw each other again - if ever - but wren never anticipated it'd be like this in any of the millions of ways he'd run it through his head. "i..." he pauses, knowing he is in no position to ask for any favors. "need a place to stay. just for a night, promise." they should greet her properly, give some kind of explanation, but that'd never been how wren operated.
She contemplated telling them no. There was truly no reason for her to feel like she had to let them in and if she was honest- knowing how much of a fucking mess her house was at the moment she probably should have told them to find somewhere else. It wasn't her problem. She had enough of her own right now. But as soon as her gaze met Wrens her shoulders fell and Lila exhaled. "Come in..." She muttered, her nose scrunching up as she took a step back. "Excuse the... well just come in. " Her gaze flickers to the mess of blankets on the couch, notebooks scattered on the table beside it full of lyrics and rambles that only Lila could make sense of, and the empty bottle of vodka and empty cans of hard seltzers that she should have tossed yesterday. "What's going on, Wren." She asked, quickly starting to clean up, plucking items from the living room and tossing most things away and folding the blankets. "I- if you want to stay the night... I need answers."
