I saw some people on Twitter guessing that Caraboo is coming soon, so I talked about her. I even talked to my Dyar before wondering about her name, which led to this post.

All of this is just my speculation, because she hasn't even entered the game yet.

I think that she is based on Rlim Shaikoth, Clark Ashton Smith's white worm god, who traveled from another dimension to Earth in the age of Hyperborea. The distinguishing feature that leads me to believe she is the white worm is the red pigment adorning her, which resembles the strange red substance flowing from Rlim Shaikoth's eyes.

From what we've researched, the white worm is a god who died after being killed by the sorcerer Evagh while it was asleep.

Back to the name, Caraboo is very childlike, and it sounds strangely familiar, like the name of a child's play character or something similar. However, after doing some research, I discovered that Caraboo is the name of Mary Baker, who used it to deceive the British in the 19th century, claiming to be a princess from the island of Javasudra in the Indian Ocean who had been kidnapped by pirates. She managed to deceive them for months.

That reminds me of GTulu's line in the opening of Arc 2: "Countless glaciers, vast expanses of white snow, she is pureest shade of white. Would you truly believe such nonsense?"

Could her story be similar to that of Princess Caraboo, who lied to people?
