A is a good couple of days into what's shaping up to be a raging winter headcold, and they're completely stuffed up to high heavens full of it. Unrelentingly.
They're standing at the stove cooking dinner, and give the sauce/soup/broth a stir, taking a sip from the spoon by habit before quickly realising there's absolutely no way they're gonna be able to actually taste anything.
With a huff of annoyance, they call "[B]!".
B quickly appears, eyebrow quirked in questioning.
"Can you please taste this for mbe and let mbe know if it ndeeds adything else? I've tried, and..." A asks before trailing off, the edge of exasperation in their voice making their frustration clear, mangled by hoarseness and congestion as it was.
B nods, with a mumbled "Of course", crossing the room and swiftly slipping the spoon A had just inadvertently been gesturing with from their hand before tasting the sauce with it.
A watches in horror as B drags the spoon from their mouth upside down across their tongue, seemingly determined to savour every last drop.
"Mmm, that's good. Needs a little more salt, and add some extra chilli if you can't taste it" B says, casually handing the spoon back and giving A an affectionate little stroke on the cheek with the back of their fingers.
"I can't believe you just did that!" A chokes out, slightly agog.
B's eyebrows draw together, and A can't tell if they're teasing or genuinely didn't know. "Did what?".
A holds up the offending utensil. "Mby germy cold-ladden spoon that I just used to taste the sauce mbyself?".
B's lips twitch and immediately signal to A what was going on here.
"Oh no..." B teases, as A rolls their eyes. "Well now that I'm officially infected-" B continues, cupping A's cheeks in their hands and pulling them into the kiss they've been wanting to give them all day, but have been stubbornly rebuffed on "for their own sake".
