The brash northerner is hardly one to talk. At least Linhardt doesn’t seem to alienate everyone he sees—certainly, he has his own oddities, but Felix is simply prickly! And the young priest is hardly going to waste his energy on pointless activities like arguing with such a close-minded individual.
Still… he watches from the edge of his vision for the unstable green glow of healing magic as the swordsman finally succeeds—if marginally. A poor attempt, but something for Felix’s efforts at least.
‘ Apparently so, I guess you’re now ready to run off into the battlefield and save all those limbs you lop off with your blade. ’ Linhardt’s sarcasm is somewhat drier than usual, clearly nonplussed with the effort. He hardly lifts his head from his book as he continues, ‘ don’t let me stop you now when you’re clearly going to overtake my skills within hours. ’
To add salt, he raises a hand silently and a glow forms in a moment. The last traces of the student’s bruise disappears without Linhardt even going near him.
A vein jumped angrily in Felix’s temple. How he hated self-assured fools like Linhardt, who boasted no talent in anything save for their own shortsightedness.
His blade is suddenly drawn from his hip, and ignoring the nervous gaze of Professor Byleth, he suddenly pointed it at Linhardt’s nose. When he was certain he had the mage’s attention, he’d snap, “since you’re so well versed in magic, pick up a sword and face me in battle.”
Knowing Linhardt, however, he’d decline. So he’d need a way to finally put his new classmate in his place.
“You keep speaking about how adept you are at magic. Unlike you, however, I apply myself to other branches of combat, something that you lack. You speak big words for someone so well-trained in magic; it’s almost as if you’re afraid that I’ll surpass you in the one thing you’re good at.”
The sword’s point never left Linhardt’s face.
“You feel threatened. Why else would you insult someone who has clearly never bothered to study magic until now? Let’s see how well you fare in a different stream of combat. Now fight me.”
