These are some of the images from the "Up North" collection. I tried to capture my favourite journey to my favourite place on Earth from where the journey properly starts for me. I always love that feeling as you cross the Erskine Bridge out of the city to what I always say is the road to freedom.
First stop the Bonnie bonnie banks. I loved that one side of the Loch had sunshine and the other was darker with the low hanging clouds.
You just cannot drive up to Glencoe without stopping at the Drovers for breakfast.
Landscape - Graded Unit
I wasn't sure where to shoot and wether I should do a set of images from different areas. Until I did decide I took a few varied (as shown) but then settled on the idea that I would stick to one particular area that holds a million memories which was the journey to Glencoe which start for me on the shores of Loch Lomond, just before you come to Crainlarich. Before that these are a few that I had done prior to making that decision.
These shots were all taken from Knock Hill.
This is the view of Cumbrae, with Goatfell and Ailsa Craig in the distance. It was taken from the top of Knock Hill, I loved the way the clouds cast shadows when they covered the sun.
This is the view of Largs on that same day when the clouds cast the shadows. I loved the effect it had on the fields.
Again the same day, I just sat on the hill watching the sun coming in and out and how the landscape changed in an instant.
Another shot from half way down the hill, I loved how the gorse looked almost luminous in the sun.
This was taken from at the start of the hill. The Goatfell looking quite dramatic in the distance.
