w/c : 4.3kÂ
a/n : This fic is very loosely inspired by the song "Francis forever", it took me almost a week to write this LMAO, Iâve tried patching up whatever plot holes this fic may have and itâs okay now. This fic is almost like a prologue to s1 ep7 but it has a lot of changes to it. I also quoted one of Francisâ lines because I couldnât really think of something so sappy at the time of writing this đ đ đÂ
You and Francis had been dating for the past 6 months, you two were neighbors, and he was a wonderful boyfriend to you despite his troublesome and rebellious nature. He was loving and caring, he is absolutely everything you wanted in a significant other. You could even compare him to those poets in the romantic era by how sappy and sometimes poetic he was with you, especially when he missed you so dearly.Â
You both did the usual things couples do, going out on dates, sneaking him in your home while your parents are away, and even going on late night drives when everyone is asleep. You were living in absolute bliss when youâre with him, even with his reckless acts and pranks. You found it charming, even a little funny, yet when it goes too far from time to time, a word from you about it would usually make him shut up and listen.Â
Your parents never liked Francis. Since you moved in next to the Wilkersonâs, they made it clear from what they saw, that they didnât like the trouble that he usually caused everyday. Theyâve heard from many of the other neighbors how borderline evil he is, he did reckless and unsafe pranks, he even got arrested once! They thought that he was a bad influence on you and told you to stay away.Â
But you couldnât, aside from his disorderly behavior, he was quite nice and he highly respects you. You have come to love him as he is, even with his faults. Once you started dating him, you both decided to keep it a secret from your parents, knowing that they will force you to break up with him and go no-contact.Â
It worked for the whole 6 months, yet they found out from Lois during some small talk in the morning, who told them that you were a good kid and that you balance Francis out in the relationship. Your father, who first heard the news, was incredibly mad, both at you and Francis. How could you disobey them despite the countless warnings and commands they have given you about avoiding Francis? It was absurd for them.Â
They confronted you once you came home from school. You were sat down in the dining room, where they thoroughly scolded, interrogated, and even yelled at you because of the romantic relationship you have with Francis.Â
âHavenât I told you countless times to stay away from that boy! He is no good to you, he will only drag you down!â Your father reprimanded in a harsh tone of voice, while your mother nodded in agreement, she didnât want you to be with someone as troublesome as Francis.Â
âExactly! Heâs been arrested by the cops once! You shouldnât be with a criminal like him!â Your mother argues.Â
âBut mom!â You tried to retort, only to be interrupted by your father.Â
âNo âbutsâ! Youâre breaking up with that boy tomorrow morning or else you will lose every privilege you have in this damn house!â Your father yelled, giving you an ultimatum.Â
This ultimatum will completely ruin the bliss you currently have with Francis. But you couldnât argue further since your parents will make it way worse for you, so you simply nodded, acting as if you felt defeated.
But you were stubborn, you didnât want to end things with Francis, so when you were excused to go back to your room, you made up a plan. It was simple, you talk to Francis and tell him that you two are going to fake a break-up, and to keep the relationship even more discreet this time. It wasnât a fool-proof plan, but it was something that could tide your parents over for a brief period of time.
Unbeknownst to you, during some time in the afternoon, Francis had managed to light a carâs engine on fire, the car wasnât even his! It was the last straw for both Lois and Hal because he has already been in too much trouble and caused too much damage.
They made a few calls to a military school in Alabama, Marlin Academy. They got him enrolled, and in the middle of the night he was taken without his knowledge and was sent to the military school. When he was fully conscious and now in an unfamiliar area, he felt a little panicked and uncertain, but most of all, he was worried for you, especially in regards to his relationship with you. He can't just disappear on you so suddenly! Even if it wasnât entirely his fault that he was sent away.Â
The early morning after Francis was sent off, you walked to the Wilkersonâs doorstep, you knocked on the door and clicked on the doorbell. After a few tries, someone finally answered, it was Malcolm, it was obvious that the boy just woke up and felt a little bothered by the knocks and rings.Â
âWhat?!â You gasped, almost yelling at this point. Sure youâve heard from Francis that his mom threatened to send him to military school, but you didnât think that she was that serious about it. You thought it was some ploy in order to scare him and make him rebel a little less!Â
âMalcolm, I need to talk to Francisâ
âHeâs not here, I think mom finally sent him to military school, she and dad talked about it more often lately.âÂ
âWell, what did he do?...â You asked, you wondered what pushed Lois to the edge because he has done countless things to cause trouble.Â
âI wouldâve called Francis right now if he was actually here, what were you even supposed to talk about with Francis anyway?â Malcolm asked, rubbing his eyes to further wake himself up.Â
âHe lit a car engine on fireâ
âYouâre serious?â
âI need to tell him that my parents found out, and that we need to break up, but not exactly break up. Just pretend and to be more discreetâ You rubbed your forehead and sighed, obviously stressed from Francis getting sent to military school and your parents making you break up with him.Â
Malcolm simply nodded, not even bothering to argue, itâs too early in the morning and he is not in the mood to use his brain just yet. Even if your plan probably has some holes in it.Â
âDo you want me to tell him if he calls?âÂ
âJust tell him not to call my home number and that my parents found out, but itâs okay since heâs far away and that he and I should keep things more discreet once he comes backâ You answered, you felt a little relieved amidst the worry you have for Francis, it means that you have a valid reason to not break up with him just yet since he was sent to military school and probably wouldnât be able to contact him for a long period of time.Â
Malcolm nodded again and you bid him goodbye, walking back to your home so that you could explain the situation to your parents. When you explained it, they felt extremely relieved, Francis was gone and he couldnât be a bad influence to you.Â
âJust cut contact with him, dearâ Your mother replied while sipping her morning coffee.Â
âGood riddanceâ Your father continued and nodded in agreement to your mother.Â
You felt disgusted that they had said that about Francis, theyâre acting like he was just some form of nuisance and future criminal, they never really took into account your relationship with him since they are too busy sheltering and overprotecting you from troublemakers like him.Â
Francis had tried contacting you multiple times after he was given an orientation by the superintendent of the school, Commandant Spangler. But all those times ended with his calls being answered by your parents yelling and scolding him about dating you.Â
He tried calling one last time on the telephone, for your father to answer.Â
âHello? Babe?âÂ
âYou should be ashamed of yourself, a nuisance like you shouldnât even be an inch near my child!âÂ
âWhat babe?! Havenât I told you countless times to stop calling them already?!â
Before Francis could even respond to that, your father continued.
âYouâre going to ruin their good record and make them into a criminal like you.âÂ
Your father then hung up, making Francis sigh, so he called his brothers instead, Reese picked up the phone.Â
âReese! Now you need to listen to me very carefully, I have to tell them somethingâÂ
âTell them that they canât imagine how much I miss them, that it is like a white-hot fire burning in my chest. The only thing that keeps me going is the thought of holding them and stroking their hair and being with them in the perfect golden moment.âÂ
Reese blinked as he heard the call, disgruntled from Francisâ sappy words for his significant other, and honestly he couldnât be dealing with this so early.Â
âDid you get that? Go tell them what I saidâ Francis commands, almost desperate to let you know that heâs still here for you.Â
âIâm not going to become your messenger Francis!â Reese argued, he canât even repeat what Francis even said.Â
âTell them or else Iâll come back home and tell mom what you did with one of Deweyâs toysâÂ
Reese froze at his threat, he was planning to hide the evidence of Deweyâs broken toy in some way so that he wouldnât get caught. But now he couldnât really refuse to tell you what Francis said, so he sighed.Â
âFine.â
âAnd call me back about what they replied with.â
Reese rolled his eyes and agreed before hanging up, planning to tell you on the walk home after classes. Â
During classes, you couldnât help but feel preoccupied with thoughts of Francis, his presence usually filled in your space during the day. You just werenât used to his absence, especially when itâs for a long period of time. It was silent for most of the school day, you were used to Francisâ talking and noise, but not this.Â
The silence became really noticeable during lunch, you sat with your friend, Kate, who was just eating quietly. You and Kate wouldâve usually joined Richieâs table, but now since Francis is gone, you and your friend have absolutely nothing in common with Francisâ friends.Â
You continued attending your classes before it was finally the end of the school day, you felt relieved that it was finally over. Once you got out of the school building, you walked back towards your home, alone. While walking on the sidewalk, Reese approached you.Â
âHi Reese.â You greeted softly.
âLook, Francis wanted me to tell you his stupid message.â Reese starts, still disgruntled from Francisâ threat from earlier in the morning.Â
âWell, what is it?â You asked, curious and hopeful. At least Francis was still trying to contact you, assuming that he probably called your home number and got cursed at by your parents.Â
âAww. Thatâs sweet, can you tell him that I miss him too and I love him? Also assuming that Malcolm hasn't told him yet, can you also tell him that when he comes back from military school that he and I should keep things more discreet?âÂ
Reese braced himself for whatever sappy thing his brother said before basically summarizing it to you begrudgingly.
âHe wanted to tell you that he misses you and itâs like a white-hot burning fire in his chest, his thoughts of holding you and stroking your hair keeps him going.âÂ
âFine..â Reese answered, disgruntled yet again because now he has to play as your and Francisâ messenger.Â
You thanked him and smiled before walking towards your house, feeling giddy and even hopeful once more. You could talk to Francis through his brothers, it was like using a pigeon to send a letter.Â
You continued to hear what Francis had to say from both Reese and Malcolm for the next three days. But they grew tired of sending messages, mostly because it was probably just some sappy and yearning prose he managed to come up with.Â
The phone rang again at the Wilkerson Household, all three brothers groaned, it was probably Francis yet again. It was Malcolmâs turn to answer, he picked up the phone.Â
âHello?â Malcolm starts, his tone clearly showing how tired he is of Francisâ prose.Â
âMalcolm! I need you to tell them that they areââ
âWe are all tired of being your messengers to them! We canât keep doing this forever! You know, they told you to keep it more discreet, itâs not discreet when we go up to them and tell them your sappy poems!â Malcolm finally snaps and hangs up. Making Reese and Dewey sigh in relief, they all felt bad that now you arenât going to get any words from Francis, but at the same time, they just canât keep doing that every single day.Â
You waited for more messages from Francis after the first three days had passed, you know that he canât always send a message to you everyday and his brothers are busy with other things! But as the week passed by without hearing a word from him, you felt worried. Sure, he may have probably gotten into trouble and got his phone privileges taken away, but the worry still gnawed on you. You canât even call him yourself since you donât know what number he is calling from, alongside the fact that your parents strictly forbade you from ever contacting him.Â
So the weeks after that, you waited some more, you asked his brothers for updates or messages he may have wanted to tell you. But they donât have any message to relay, mostly because theyâre tired of it, and that Francis doesnât have any leverage over them since he was not updated about anything happening back at home.Â
For you, it was radio silence from his end, which made you lose even more hope to make this relationship work. It felt like half your heart was hollowed out and your life is at its quietest state it has ever been even before you were in a relationship with Francis.Â
You felt numb, itâs not like you couldnât do anything without him, but at the same time itâs like you are dealing with all of this alone. Your parents hated Francis and his brothers barely even care about what message heâs going to make them relay to you. It was lonely, you find yourself writing letters to him late at night that were never sent because your parents will look through the mail and subsequently inspect your room at times.Â
Even when Francis knew that he was forbidden to contact you, he kept trying to find other ways in order to keep in touch with you. One of these ways was with writing letters, his fellow cadets found it sappy, even so, he continued to send those letters, but your parents always saw them before you could, and they threw those letters away.Â
Next, he tried to run away and drive 8 hours just to see you using Commandant Spanglerâs car, but he was caught and punished heavily. It was tiring, but he hoped that you would still be there, waiting for him. Even if it was selfish of him to think of it, that you would wait for weeks, almost months, until his parents will be able to fly or drive him home for the weekend or some occasion.Â
He thought of many ways to make it up to you once he got home, he would take you out on a date by the beach and stay by your side the whole day, it would be as if he was never sent to military school. But unfortunately, those thoughts will never come to fruition as long as his parents make him stay at Marlin Academy.
Three months had eventually passed at this point, you held onto little hope that your relationship with Francis could work, even if you havenât spoken to him in months. You tried coping, by crafting, finding new hobbies, basically anything that could take your mind off the loneliness you felt without Francis. It worked briefly, until the weight of everything simply crashed down on you one late night.Â
You felt trapped, your parents have been fussing over you more often since they found out about Francis, every moment with them felt like an interrogation. It was suffocating, you hated it. It was always about what they wanted and what they expected from you as their child, like you were some robot.
Thoughts of Francis getting sent to military school and being essentially âtrappedâ there also plagued your mind. You knew that he could handle going through such a thing, but at the same time you were scared, scared that once Francis came home he might be unrecognizable from the Francis you knew and loved before he was sent away.Â
You felt guilty that you are in no position to even try and change whatâs happening around you, it was like youâre a bystander witnessing a tragedy, you felt too confused and trapped with your own thoughts and worries that you canât do anything that would help solve the circumstances youâre experiencing.Â
Francis didnât stop after his plans of contacting you failed. He finally thought of sneaking out and hitchhiking in order to see you. He packed a duffel bag and snuck out of Marlin Academy at night. It took over a day, but he finally came back to town. Sure, a little more ruffled and dirtier than he expected, but he couldnât care less, heâs going to see you and he will ask you to run away from him.Â
He made Malcolm bring him food while he hid, he also told Malcolm to give you this letter, which was filled with sappy words and plans to run away. Malcolm did it begrudgingly, giving the letter to you while you were walking back to your house after classes.Â
âWhatâs this?âÂ
âItâs from Francis.âÂ
You couldnât believe it yourself, he finally sent you something after three months! Your expression brightened and in some way, you felt lighter than you have ever felt for the past few months without him.Â
You opened the paper, it smelled horrible, but it probably went through a lot to be sent to you. It was filled with countless words of yearning from Francis. How much he missed you and how hard he had tried in order to talk to you. You felt touched, so touched that he hasnât ever given up on you while he was away.Â
You continued reading until the last page, and his words shocked you.Â
âI want you to run away with me, so weâll be able to live the lives we have always wanted together. Weâll get an apartment and figure it out. If you want to talk about this, meet me at the park at 8.â
You simply thanked Malcolm and immediately went into your house, eventually sitting in your room and thinking about the implications of the decision you were about to make. Running away with Francis meant freedom, yet you are afraid of the instability you two might experience if the plan came to fruition.Â
You went to the park just a few minutes before 8, sitting by one of the benches. Once he saw you he immediately ran and held you tightly in his arms. He smelled horrible and you scrunched your nose because of it.Â
âI know I smell bad, but I just missed you so muchâ He admits and hugs you even tighter.Â
You hugged back and almost cried, even if he smells absolutely horrendous, it doesnât change that you missed him too. After a few moments, you pulled yourself away from his embrace.Â
âWe need to talk.â
âThen how are we supposed to be together?!â
âI donât want to run away, Francis.â
âWhat?! Why?! I mean, your parents are too strict, they wonât let us be together! If we run away, I promise to get a job to support us both, we can get an apartment somewhere.â He tries to convince you, you donât doubt his abilities but at the same time, running away means leaving a lot of things behind, such as your friends and your studies.
âI know, but itâs just that we canât just leave! I donât want to drop-out and even if we did run away, my parents would pay big time for a private investigator to find me!â You argued, knowing that your parents will be on your ass even more if you ran away.
âMaybe we can send each other letters.âÂ
âThey donât want to! They have been ignoring my calls.â
âYour parents found the ones that I've sent you.â
âThen send it to your home and make your brothers give them to me!âÂ
You felt absolutely clueless on what to do at this point, you donât want to break up with him, you can barely even process that idea. After pacing around for a few moments while he watched, an idea popped up in your head.Â
âI think I could buy myself a phoneâÂ
âAre you sure?â
âIâve got a few hundred dollars under my pillow, havenât spent a cent of my birthday money. Iâll buy myself a wireless plan.âÂ
âFuck! Why didnât we think of this earlier?â
âI was too stressed to think about it. You know my parents, ever since they found out, they have been on my ass!âÂ
Francis rubbed his forehead at what you said and sighed, feeling relieved that they found a solution to contact each other. He didnât doubt himself that he could support you if you guys ran away, but he knows that itâs a really heavy responsibility to be given, especially when everything seems uncertain.Â
âIâll buy the phone tomorrow.â You noted to yourself before gazing back at Francis.Â
âOkay, good, I donât think I can go back to Military school that quickly, it took me over a day to get hereâ He admits, running his fingers through his disheveled hair.Â
âYou can stay at my place, my parents are on a business trip together. I can sneak you in.â You offered, he immediately agreed, he wanted to spend the night with you, knowing that heâll probably be taken away and sent back to military school once they found out that he snuck out.Â
You walked back home with him, he told you how he hitchhiked in the back of a vehicle with pigs, thus his dirty and ruffled appearance. Once you both finally arrived, you both entered the house silently. You gave him an extra towel and guided him to the bathroom so he can finally take a shower, meanwhile you fixed up your bed so you can make up more space for him.
Once he finished showering and got dressed, he laid down next to you in bed, wrapping his arms around you.Â
âI missed you.â
âI missed you too.â
âWhen are your parents coming back?â
âIn a few days.â
âIf you could hide me for those few days then we can spend some more time together and catch up.â
You shrugged and nodded at his idea, wanting to spend more time with him as much as possible until your parents would come back. You both continued conversing until midnight, in which sleep finally took both you and Francis.
In the morning, you immediately bought yourself a phone plan so you will be able to contact Francis once heâs back at military school. Honestly, your relationship with him has grown stronger than ever, even if it has been several hours since you reunited with him. It was like nothing had ever changed over the past three months.Â
After buying the phone, you spent most of your time with Francis, which just consisted of staying at home, watching movies, ordering takeout, cuddling, and just talking! You couldnât go out with him since people might see and tell both of your families about it, but it was still fun nonetheless. The night before he had to leave, you baked a cake together and ate a few slices, before packing some for when heâs travelling back to military school. You both also made a lie about his whereabouts when asked about it, heâll say that he snuck out of military school to get some freedom, and youâll say that you havenât seen him in months! You both could completely cover up the events of the past 3 days.Â
You woke up at 2:00am so you could bid him farewell. He was dressed and now carrying his duffel bag by the back door.Â
âIâll miss you.â You admitted softly and reached out to cup his cheek, rubbing it gently with your thumb.Â
âIâll miss you too, Iâll call once I get there, okay?â He replied before smiling, absolutely smitten for you.Â
âOkay.â You agreed.Â
âI guess this is it then.â He looked around, it was still dark and several hours until sunrise.Â
âI love you.â You murmured and gave him a kiss. It was gentle and affectionate, proof that this isnât your final goodbye to him and that no one will be able to tear you two apart, even if they tried.Â
âI love you too.â He whispered back once you both pulled away.Â
âStay safe.â You tell him as he starts to walk away. He only gave you a nod and a soft smile, his eyes gleaming in the moonlight. He was breathtaking, he was yours and you were his, nothing could ever change that, and you will always be content with the fact that heâll still be the Francis you know and love even if heâs miles away from you.Â
a/n : Hi okay I actually didn't expect this fic to be so long. It was supposed to be bittersweet with no happy ending but I kinda got stuck on that part, so I just made it to have a happy ending LOL, I hope you guys enjoyed this fic, after this is posted I'll start with the requests in my inbox, requests are still open btw!!
Summary : After your parents moved to Alabama for a promotion, you were transferred to an all girls catholic boarding school. The first few months studying were fine and good. But after a few stressful weeks filled with schoolwork and tasks, you finally decided to go out and attend a party being hosted at the neighboring military school just a few blocks awayâŠ
Cw : mentions of drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes

A/n: This is the first fanfic iâve ever written in 3 years, I hope you guys like it ă €âĄă €âĄă €âĄ Let me know if you want this to have a part two!!
Your parents decided to move to Alabama because of a promotion they got at NASA, dragging you along with them, and since they arenât able to take care of you, they sent you to St. Hyacinthâs Academy, a private catholic all-girls boarding school.Â
You got accustomed to the boarding school quickly, even if it was vastly different from your old school, from its infrastructure to the schedule. The regular school day starts with a mass, breakfast, then some classes before lunch break, and finally a free period for studying, cleaning, and praying. You spent most of the time studying, which earned you high grades and praise from your teachers.Â
Yet your roommate, Kate, who is also your friend, kept offering to help you sneak out in order to join parties that were being hosted by one of the boys at the military school just a few blocks away. You always refused, your education was a high priority to you, so it doesnât hurt to miss some secret parties so you could achieve good grades. But even if you always refuse, the offer still stands with Kate, that sheâll help sneak you out so you can at least experience fun for once in your life.Â
The past few weeks were filled with countless assignments and exams,it was stressful for you and many other students. You spent many late nights in the study hall or in your dorm, studying and answering the assignments given. You felt so tired and overwhelmed by the amount of work you had to do and it got to the point where you were barely getting an hour of sleep most nights. You had bags under your eyes and your side of the dorm was an unorganized pile of papers, pens, and textbooks.Â
It made you want to take a little break for once. After all, youâve worked so hard for almost the whole school year, getting straight Aâs and some awards for winning in a few competitions. You felt like you deserved it, and now youâre currently thinking about what you should do during that break.
âThe boys at Marlin Academy are throwing a party later, they bought more beer this timeâ Kate announces, sitting by the slightly open window to smoke a cigarette that she snuck in. Kate was one of the more rebellious students in the campus, she always knew the drama and parties going on both in the school and in Marlin academy, mostly because she knew some of the boys in the military school and they threw parties when their superintendent, Commandant Spangler, was out of the school from time to time .Â
You shrugged at her words, but for a split second, you thought about it and realized that this party could be your chance to unwind, even for just a brief period of time.Â
âAre you coming with me?â Kate asks, expecting to hear your usual phrase of refusal at that point.
âYou know what? Yeah, I want to come with youâ You answered, that left Kate a little taken aback, she would usually hear ânoâ from you and a spiel about your studies. But this time, you actually agreed to come with her,Â
âReally?â
âReally.â
âAre you sure?â
âCome on Kate, I really need a break here, do I really need to repeat myself?â
âNo! I was just surprisedâÂ
You couldnât really blame her, you have never snuck out before, especially if it was just to attend some party.Â
âGo fix yourself up, weâre sneaking out at 6â Kate continues, clearly excited and giddy to finally introduce you to some fun.Â
You agreed and for the next hour or two, you finished some assignments, got dressed, fixed up your hair, and finally relaxed your mind for a little while.Â
You and Kate snuck out at exactly 6:00pm through the backdoor while dinner was being served at the dining hall. You both climbed up the back gate and walked a few blocks through the trees towards Marlin Academy. You and Kate eventually arrived at the military school and approached the back gate, where a couple of other girls, who are also your schoolmates, are standing at.Â
A blonde boy approaches the gate from the other side.
âWelcome ladies!â The boy greeted, his tone smooth, before opening the gate for the girls to come in.Â
You walked through the gate door with Kate. Your friend was one of the regulars who usually attended these parties, so when Francis saw her with some girl he had never seen before, he was curious.Â
âKate! New girl?â He asked, sizing you up out of curiosity. You were neater than the other girls attending the party, most of them had slightly wrinkled blouses and skirts, they also had darker and heavier makeup despite the schoolâs strict rules against any form of makeup. It was obvious that you donât exactly fit in.Â
âMy roommate, she doesnât go out that often. Sheâs a bit of a nerd, too much of a goody two shoes.â Kate says the last sentence in a whisper. Obviously, you heard it and you were offended.
âHey!âÂ
âCome on, itâs true anyway!â
âStill!â
Kate rolled her eyes but shrugged it off, the banter made Francis amused.Â
âIâm Francis.â He stepped forward and introduced himself.Â
You introduced yourself, in a more proper manner than how Kate said it.Â
He smiled and continued to look at you, almost examining both your appearance and demeanor. You seemed uptight, mostly stressed, and also a little uneasy at the possibility that youâll get caught and get the incident written up in your permanent record.Â
Francis pats your shoulder and wraps an arm around you, as if trying to calm you down.Â
âRelax, Iâll get you a beer and introduce you to the guysâ He tries to soothe your unease using a smooth tone. You simply nodded at that point as he pulled you into the building and up to his floor, where the party is taking place. He hands you a cold can of beer and walks you through the common room, introducing you to the other boys as music blares and others dance.
You opened your can of beer and took a sip, feeling the crisp cold liquid go down your throat. You let yourself loosen up as you continued drinking, dancing, and talking to others. Kate would check on you from time to time, but you kept shrugging her off and reassuring her that you were fine and enjoying yourself.Â
You continued socializing and dancing for a full hour until you eventually felt worn-out. Which led you walking out of the common room and towards the hallway, where you lean yourself against a wall.
Francis noticed you leaving the common room and followed, knowing that itâs your first time attending these parties and feeling the need to check on you.Â
He leaned against the wall beside you and looked at your tired yet relaxed expression.Â
âYou alright?â He asks while pulling out a cigarette from the pack in his pocket, lighting it up and taking a drag.Â
âIm fine.â You answered, âJust a little tired.âÂ
âDonât worry, youâll get used to itâ He reassured and continued smoking for a few moments, before offering the open pack of cigarettes to you.
âWant one?âÂ
âI donât smoke.â
âHuh, okay.âÂ
He shrugged it off but after thinking about it for a few seconds, he realized that you were probably shielded from both alcohol and cigarettes by your parents and the school, and that you probably only drank alcohol and refused the cigarette to cause less damage to your body.Â
You took a few more sips of your beer. You didnât want to admit it, but he was actually pretty nice and welcoming. You didnât expect that behavior from a student at Marlin Academy, you usually found them intimidating because of the military school routines you heard.Â
You tilt your head up against the wall and let out a tired laugh.Â
âYou seem kinda niceâ You admitted to him in a soft tone.
âYouâre not too bad yourselfâ He retorted, feeling some warmth inside because of your words. Honestly, to him, you were nice and smart, he didnât really see you as a nerd or a goody two shoes like how others see you. Sure you may be a little uptight at times, but itâs valid because you were doing it in order to have a better future for yourself and your family.Â
He liked you and he wanted to know more about you, more than just about being a studious and good student, but about your likes and dislikes, even your hobbies! He definitely thought that you and him could click together even if you were his complete opposite. He could bring you some fun and relaxation, while you can bring him some more focus and even stability regarding his academics and school life.Â
âWould you like to go out sometime?â He asked without hesitation, wanting to take his chance with you.Â
The question made you feel a little flustered, even so, you opened your mouth to answer, but without warning, Kate grabbed your arm and tried to pull you away.Â
âIâm not done yet!â
âHeadmistress Beaumont found out about the party! Sheâs climbing up to this floor right now! We have to get out!âÂ
Kateâs words made you panic, you didnât want this to go on your permanent record. You let yourself be dragged away by her. You looked back at Francis as you ran with Kate, he watched you both, he was dumbfounded at Kateâs revelation but still wanted an answer.Â
âWould that be a yes?!â He calls out to you.Â
âYes! I would like to go out with you!â You yelled back at him, before going out and running down the fire escape with Kate and many of your other schoolmates. Mentally preparing yourself to be found out and scolded by the headmistress because of the escapade you were involved in.
After you managed to sneak out and escape, Francis walked towards the window, now feeling strangely accomplished after asking you out. It was now a date, and he was really looking forward to it. Heâll discuss the plans with you once you get out of trouble, maybe he can book a reservation to a restaurant in town, or steal Commandant Spanglerâs car to take you out for a late night drive. Either way, heâll make it both enjoyable and memorable for you both ă €âĄ
