Going through some tough shit right now. Sorry for no uploads...at all.
Mia is a very underrated character.
No, seriously. Sure, she's a plot important name but people hardly talk about her! We need more people who appreciate Mia as more than just "That sick child at the end of the game". Make an AU where she wasn't sick, or where Waltz managed to cure her or something! That'd be something to see.
Granted, I may not look everywhere for Mia, but I've looked in enough places.
Me: Oh boy, I love making Soldier Swap! Nothing could ever distract me from-
DL2 Family AU Idea:
i made a lil dying light quiz
dying light is a very cool open world zombie game! includes characters from both 1 & 2.
there's no spoilers included in the game and please it's just for fun don't take it seriously hHHgh
Mad Jack
Alright...where to begin? I suppose where it did begin. That makes sense, right? When THV reached Villedor, Jack matt wasn't panicked. Colonel Williams always had a plan. He didn't realize it was bombing the city, though.
Upon first hearing Williams's "solution", Jack Matt was appalled. Bomb civilians? How could Williams do such a thing? He fought tooth and nail to prevent this, and eventually he succeeded. Williams stopped the bombings from ever happening. Jack Matt had never felt so proud of himself.
Another year passes, the military failing to stop the tide of infected. Jack Matt had begun to panic. Maybe the bombings would've been the best course of action! He tried convincing Williams to start the bombings, but Williams is adamant about protecting the civilians. All of them.
One night, after a lengthy argument with Williams, Jack Matt snuck into the operations building. He approached a locked door and breaks it open. Behind this door was the controls for the chemical bombs. Jack Matt took one look behind him before he pushed the buttons, launching the bombs.
In the days that followed, chaos ensued. Colonel Williams turned the people against him, even though he'd done the right thing. Why couldn't the people see that? Soon they began calling him "Mad Jack", and really? He kinda liked it. He liked this feeling of being feared. It was like some kind of adrenaline rush!
Eventually, though, the people stopped fearing him and began hating him. They were gearing for action, and there was nothing he could do about it. Well...almost nothing, actually.
When the bombs fell, half the military supported Jack Matt's decision, the other was horrified. This caused an unbalance in the military. When Mad Jack began hearing what the people were going to do, he took his supporters (who people mistakenly took as being psychos) and went to a cargo ship, which he made his base. Easily defendable, not too hard to reinforce, and plenty of space. The only problem was the power, or lack there of.
When they were forced to retreat by Williams's faction, the Peace Keepers, the generators became damaged. Because of this, the UV lights didn't turn on, and his troops were slaughtered by the infected. He managed to barricade himself in his room with a random soldier, with the infected pounding on the door. He quickly thought of a plan, and looked towards the soldier.
He told the soldier to cut off his leg below the knee. At first, the soldier refused, but the more Mad Jack insisted, the more he wanted to do it, just to shut him up. So he took a makeshift axe and chopped of Mad Jack's leg clean. Mad Jack screamed in pain, making the infected double their efforts. He started a fire and cauterized the wound, before looking at the soldier.
He stabbed the soldier in both legs, making it so he couldn't escape. A distraction, he had called the soldier. He then climbed out of the window, leaving the soldier to die by the infected and make it look like he'd been slaughtered. And he hung out of that window the entire night, clutching his detached leg.
When dawn broke and the infected left, he threw his leg through the window as false evidence. He then climbed down the rest of the way, using his weapon as a makeshift cane. And for the past few years he's been hiding in the old GRC facilities, rebuilding his forces, and awaiting the right moment to rise again.
Next Up...Character Design (Descriptions, because I can't draw)
Aiden
Aiden has had a...tough life, to say the least. Experimented on as a child, with no memory of his life before, and even those memories of the experiments muddled around in his brain. But at least he had his sister, Mia. Then when everything went to shit, he was seperated from her, and after that he spent the next 15 years searching for her. But you already know this. This hasn't changed.
Eventually, his travels brought him to Villedor, the last of the Walled Cities. On his way in, he was bitten by a volatile, but managed to get away. However, he quite clearly began to turn, and eventually he found his way into the Bazaar. Once they realized he was turning, they tried to hang him, but a man named Hakon cut him down, rescuing him from the lynch mob.
Upon realizing he doesn't have a Biomarker, Hakon took him to the old hospital, and while that happens he teaches him how to survive in Villedor. When they encounter a group of PKs helping survivors in the streets, he tells Aiden to show them some respect, as they were one of the only reasons this city was still standing.
After getting his Biomarker, Aiden gets seriously injured, so Hakon takes him to the Central Loop, where the Medical Hospital is located. He was taken to their version of the ER, since Aiden was losing a lot of blood. When they got him on the table, he passed out.
When he came to, the Doctor who treated him was sitting across the room from him. Aiden immediately recognized the man as Waltz, the person responsible for his childhood trauma. He tried to get out of bed and kill him, but he wasn't well enough to stand yet, so he just fell on the ground. Waltz put him back in the bed, and upon realizing it was Aiden, he sat right back down and made an agreement.
The agreement was as follows: Waltz had until Aiden was fully recovered to try and convince Aiden not to kill him. In that time, Aiden could ask any question he wanted. And Waltz would stay in that room until Aiden was ready.
Naturally, the first question Aiden asked was about Mia. Waltz looked like he was about to cry and told him that was for another time. So basically over the next few days they talked (in a more drawn-out and more civil version of the conversation they have in X-13 when Aiden realises he's been living a lie), and when it was revealed that Mia was...no longer with them, Aiden basically had an emotional breakdown. Not only had he been living a lie, but he had also living a lie for no reason.
Aiden, instead of leaving the city upon realizing there was nothing left for him here, decides to stay and help those he can. So he runs around doing missions for people, supply runs, etc.
Everywhere he goes, he hears about a man named Mad Jack. He recognised that name, but he couldn't think of why. And then it clicked. He'd seen it sprayed everywhere in the metro tunnels, and that weird old ship that sat at the edge of the Central Loop had "Property of Mad Jack" painted on the side of it, even if it was worn from age.
Next up...Mad Jack.
Dr. Waltz
Waltz...there's a lot to say about Waltz. After the chemical bombings, he was forced to leave his lab with his daughter, hiding in a nearby settlement as a medical professional, which is hard to come by nowadays, so he was greatly appreciated. He continued his Inhibitor experiments on himself.
When the War started, he tried his best to stay out of it. Then the Renegades attacked the settlement he was in. He hid in a locked room with his daughter, trying his best to stay quiet. He could kill them all easily, but he didn't want to. "Last resort," he'd always tell himself. Then a grenade from the Renegades rolled under the door and blew up. He survived, but his daughter...
He lost it. He walked through the hole in the wall and ripped the remaining Renegades to shreds. The PKs were rightfully terrified, and when he regained his senses he was surrounded by terrified PKs, all pointing their weapons at him. They brought him to Colonel Williams, and he was surprised to see a familiar face.
The Colonel and Waltz began catching up, having not seen each other for a couple years. When Waltz mentions his daughter and what happened to her, Williams couldn't feel more sorry for the man. He'd been through so much...
When the War was over, Williams had the PKs construct a hospital-like settlement for Waltz, which he stays in most of the time, treating illness and injury alike. When it was first constructed, they brought him the leg of Mad Jack to confirm its previous owner. He confirmed it did, in fact, belong to M.J. After that, he lived a peaceful few years in his "Hospital", away from the infected and the bandits. He even showed the Nightrunners the Inhibitors, greatly increasing their effectiveness.
When Aiden arrives in Villedor, he's surprised to see Waltz, as Waltz is surprised to see him. Aiden, naturally, tried to kill Waltz, but when he describes what happened, Aiden changed his mind. He and Aiden became close associates, perhaps even becoming a father-figure for the boy.
When people began going missing from the nearby settlements, he asked for a PK Special Force to be positioned at the hospital. Then the rumors of Mad Jack's return begin to rise, and people blaming him for the disappearances...Waltz knew it was a load of bullshit, but he always had that one thought lingering in the back of his mind...
Mad Jack's leg was cut too cleanly...too precisely to have been eaten off by some random infected.
Up Next...Aiden's Story.
Colonel Williams
Shortly after the chemical bombings, Williams confronted Jack Matt, who bombed the city without his permission. They had a disagreement, and went about their separate ways. Colonel Williams learned that J.M. was planning on framing him for the chemical bombings before he could do anything.
And like a true man, Williams broadcasted himself over every radio in the city, detailing exactly how Jack Matt was responsible and that Williams was truly sorry for everyone's losses. The crowd then began hunting Jack Matt, and he recruited some psychos into a small gang to protect him. They began attacking smaller settlements, forcing people to join them, and in turn Williams created the Peace Keepers, a volunteer force to help protect those who could not protect themselves from Mad Jack's assaults.
In the middle of one such battle, it was in a settlement where Waltz was hiding with his daughter, Mia, trying to keep her hidden from the conflict. One of Mad Jack's Renegades threw a D.I.Y. Grenade and it rolled into the room Waltz had been hiding in. Mia died in the blast, but Waltz - being the badass genetic abomination he is - then shredded through the entirety of the Renegades attacking, leaving those who survived permanently traumatized by what they saw.
Williams helped the poor dilf man through his issues, and helped him build his own hospital to help those he could manage to, as a way to repent for not being able to help his own daughter.
When the war was over, Williams and his PKs forced the Renegades back to their base, and they almost managed to kill them. But then night fell and the PKs had to retreat, and they didn't notice all of the UV lights on the boat hadn't kicked on. In the morning, when they returned, the entire boat was covered in blood, and every corpse left had been torn apart. When they got to Mad Jack's quarters, all they found was his leg, and a trail of blood leading into the rest of the blood-bath in the halls.
The PKs became a faction of their own, since those that had served under Williams' command had enjoyed their sense of purpose, and began protecting all those who could not protect themselves. William's became a highly respected War-Hero, but he doesn't enjoy it. There had been too much human blood spilt in this war, but surely it must have been worth it?
To this day, most people believe Mad Jack is still alive. Williams doubts it, but he still can't ignore the various people that have begun to go missing in the middle of the night from the various settlements...
Next Up...Waltz's Story
The Incorrect Quotes generator I use is slowly giving me the urge to create a shitpost using my AU.
Hakon: They stole from me first!
Mad Jack: Mhm.
Hakon: Stole my heart...
Colonel Williams: It is still illegal to commit murder.

Soldier Swap Info:
Basic Info
Jack Matt and Colonel Williams switch places faction-wise, but their pasts are still the same...basically (I'll explain in a second).
Since Williams is the one controlling the PKs, they have a more classic military-green color scheme, and their past and faction relationships are slightly different.
The Renegades are way more ruthless, since I believe J.M. has a bigger temper than the Colonel, and therefore so do his followers.
The PK are based in the Dam, since the Colonel would have seen its strategic standpoint early on and claimed it for the PKs.
The Renegades are on the Boat, in place of the normal PKs. No real reason, except J.M. wanted to be based on a boat. Tnought it would be intimidating, when really he doesn't have the manpower to protect it. Just a Zombie Moat surrounding it.
Story Differences
Back when Sophie's Mother asked for help, instead of ignoring her, the PKs actually helped her, so there's no war between the Bazaar and the PKs.
Waltz was actually the City Medic, setting up his own hospital and everything. Mia died in the war between PKs and Renegades (since I believe that up until Aiden invades the Dam, Mia had been there on life support for years until Waltz could find a cure, and for plot convenience), and so he has no reason to try and destroy the city.
Aiden came to Villedor seeking Mia still, but he found another way in, finding a GRE key on the way. He still got bitten, but there Hakon just so happened to be making a purchase at the Bazaar that day, so the main events from there play normally up to the point where they leave the Hospital.
When Aiden finds Waltz, he tries to kill him (as he would do) but Waltz easily stops him and calms him down (being the super-badass he is). When he hears of Mia's death, he's devastated, but still stays in the city, doing his best to help people.
Nightrunners still exist, with Frank leading them, since one major point in this AU is Hakon believed in Frank's plan. He tried to recruit Aiden once, but he declined. He wanted to make his own name for himself, not just be known because he was a Nightrunner. Is good friends with them, though, so he has access to some of their equipment and they help each other from time-to-time.
More to come...
