Interview with the Vampire ❤️
i just think it might be neat for bailey bass to come back to iwtv/qotd as jesse reeves, bonus points if she gets to be haunted by claudia also.
on the other hand, if they want to age jesse up (she is 35 in the novels, and bailey bass is still a very youthful 23) they could bring back maura grace athari (whose age and background is not publicly available) and jesse can be anywhere between a 1982 and 1992 baby.
also fun, keeping her the same age and bringing back kalyne coleman or roxane duran (in a dark brown wig) just to hurt louis and lestat's feelings when they meet her.
ALL THAT SAID, in terms of her appearance all that i find critical is that she maintains her resemblance to the twins who i'd love for them to be doing at least race-blind casting for. ideally i'd like for them to be casting north african/middle eastern actresses for characters that very specifically come from the prehistoric levant, but you know they might not do that (unfortunately).
the new clematis appear to be thriving by the back fence

it's wild rereading the queen of the damned and specifically the devil's minion chapter knowing that the show has so radically changed the armand/daniel relationship and the circumstances of his turning.
the plumeria is blooming
it's wild stumbling across Akasha's Backstory Disc Horse™️ when it's not been established in this adaptation yet. like. in the novels she was sent from uruk (located in modern iraq) to be a queen of pre-pharaonic egypt and wed to the local prince. we don't have firm information about what the show will do about the ancient past yet, but i like that sheila atim chose to go with an east african inspired accent because if they'd like to keep her outsider-within-her-own-realm status then she could be from ancient nubia (modern sudan) or ancient eritrea rather than be a local noblewoman.
im fucking crying
started the audiobook of eric foner's classic reconstruction (unabridged)
the fact of the matter is that charli and taylor are just the modern day william f buckley and gore vidal but neither of them would agree with which i personally, as the expert in all matters concerned, would personally identify them
and quite frankly if charli had just homoerotically challenged taylor to a fistfight in like 2022 this could all have been over with already
problematic plot relevance gap
so the monet and venice exhibit was amazing and here are some of my personal highlights
I still love latte art
genuinely appreciate their dedication to the craft
i should take more pictures of our trumpet vine at night
just got done checking in over the phone on my grandma whose body isn't responding well to the chemo they had her on for the liver/bile duct cancer and she was sending me pictures and she's lost a very concerning amount of weight for a woman that's been a little chubby since before i was born.
my favorite villainous queen is coming moodboard
didn't realize how precious i'd feel about adapting the vampire lestat once the s4 confirmation has it shift definitively into queen of the damned. i was hoping that we'd have a chance to go back to lestat's foundational fuckery in S4. alas.
having said this i'm seated for sheila atim to knock it out of the park as akasha!!!
