Well, I was hoping to create a Peacock Miraculous design for Tomoe before canon... but I guess I waited too long lol. Here's what I got anyway :P As always, a few design notes below! (Also, I actually remembered to make a speedpaint this time: Instagram; TikTok)

Design Notes:

Dressed in Kimono

Drew inspiration from art of Amaterasu, Kujaku Myōō, Toyotama-hime

Lotus, peacock, wave themes

Magatama/Tomoe symbols: protection, power, good fortune, health

Colors chosen to resemble Jade (national gemstone of Japan); symbolizes luck, serenity, purity, harmony, balance

Seigaiha pattern on kimono: used to symbolize good fortune, peace, power, auspiciousness, resilience

Obi drawn to resemble Iwata Obi (credit to @eenieweinerist for inspiration :3)

Armor based on photos of Onna-Musha and Onna-Bugeisha

Make-up loosely based on Heian period make-up - delicate features, red lip

Tear stains to allude to Tomoe's backstory and betrayal

Initially had long hair resembling peacock feathers - removed it as design became too busy

so I saw Eric and he is adorable!!! How do you think emilie would react to nathalie having a child that was a hint of them both?

Honestly, I think it would be Emilie who would passively aggressively persuade Nathalie to get pregnant. And she’d probably get away with it. They’d raise the kid together and all that stuff.

But it’s also funny to think in the idea that, one day Nathalie secretly used the peacock miraculous and somehow (perhaps by mistake) got herself pregnant. She didn’t tell anyone. No one even suspected it. After years, she just showed up with a grown up kid.

I love lilanette and marigami so much, daaamn. Marinette, Lila and Kagami are my favorite characters, and they create 2 of the most amazing ships in the world! What could be better?

But tbh I'm a little confused with this whole "Lila and Kagami are actually sisters" thing. But I do like it tho! Toxic doomed sisters who are opposite reflections of each other is a peak trope. And it also creates an interesting dynamic between Marinette, Lila and Kagami that I have never seen before: sisters fighting over one girl haha such a drama! Obviously Lila would lose in this fight, lol

Regarding Tomoe Tsurugi's Peacock design; Thoughts, analysis and criticism

A new episode of Ladybug has been released, showing us how Kagami was created. Have you ever wondered what Mayura's child would look like if she were in Tsurugi's shoes?

If Mayura were in Tsurugi's shoes? As in Mayura having a sentikid? As in Nathalie having a sentikid? Well... I guess I made that design some time ago, also some doodles

This is Eric!! Nathalie created him with the intention of making a tiny male version of herself, but during the creation process, she accidentally (accidental my *ss) let some intrusive thoughts slip in, and the boy ended up with some blond streaks and blue eyes with small hints of green. NOT on purpose, not at all, no one she knows could possibly have those features...

All jokes aside, he was always meant to be an Eminath baby, which would complete my version of the messy Sangreste children trilogy, the holy trinity, Adrien, Celine, and Eric. From oldest to youngest btw.

Still, I have no idea how he would fit into an AU, I haven't written anything in particular.

Maybe in an AU where nothing happened to Emilie when she created Adrien, but something did happen to Nathalie? Or maybe Emilie used the miraculous twice and died much earlier? Idk, honestly. Maybe you got some better ideas🤔

Thomas, Thomas, Thomas, you're this close to such a ridiculous darkwoke slam dunk, just trust me on this. All you need to do is confirm that Tomoe is a supremacist. It's all you have to do. It would exonerate you for using the rising sun flag as a 5D chess move, it would explain everything, you would be exploring topics no children's show has ever even grazed before. You just have to show that the sentimonsters are an allegory for eugenics and that Tomoe Tsurugi thinks the Japanese are the best race on earth. You're so close already. You got so close with The Dirtifiers. The interplay between the strained mother-daughter relationship and the sentiplot and whatever Lila has going on here and villains advocating for racial purity could be Emmy winning. You want your Emmy, right? Don't you? Don't you want that Emmy award? Just- Just make her a Japanese imperialist and a supremacist. It would be so fucking easy. I promise this would not backfire in your face and even get the show canceled. Be a maverick, Thomas.

A bath of blue and dark force for Chloé

After many unfortunate events in London, Chloé started realising many things about her life step by step, and thus, she went to the so-wished redemption path, and you see how is she in the illustrations.

The fate I have for this fallen angel:

Mediator, karateka (featured with her savate skills), good sis, rebellious daughter, the definitive successor of Argos (Magistra Cristata), unscrupulous heroine, still swearing, with few friends, working hard to (try and) clean her reputation, and as the Peacock Miraculous implies, she ended keeping the infamous Secret...

A girlfriend? The love will come later...

And better fat and strong than boney and weak. And to keep her well-being, she must drink diuretics like green tea, as the doctor recommended her.

Disclaimer: actually I don't care what's new with her in canon. For canon!Chloé, her era of glory came to an end.
