BIOGRAPHY:
Frank was brought to life into the loving Longbottom family – part of the Sacred Twenty-Eight and a pureblooded one. The boy was raised to be good and caring, following the rules, being correct and disciplined, while also being free to play around and be as happy as a child could be. His father – Tobias Longbottom – was sure to teach him to be great, to set him on the path of Aurors, trying to prepare him for the war since his first breath – a war he didn’t even know existed. He was bred to be part of this – a soldier in the fight against good and evil.
His Hogwarts letter was no surprise – he was pureblooded after all. His sorting into Gryffindor only made his parents happier, therefor, he was happy as well. Family always meant everything to him and his first major trauma was exactly this – the death of his father. While in his third year, he received a letter from Augusta of the news, one week post the event. He locked himself, he became wary of everything surrounding him, he grew to be way more direct and blunt towards people who threatened him. As his pain evaporated, so did his mind grew.
But his mother changed – she called it a mother’s instinct, but Frank considered it suffocation. Augusta became suffocating, her troubled mind turning on him making him doubt both himself and the people he called his friends. She though danger was in each corner, that each shadow was an enemy – she became paranoid of losing her only person close to a family. Ever the star in the sky, the boy understood and he bared with her, perhaps allowing to be controlled by her own emotions more than he should’ve. Letters with skepticism towards his friends or love interests were always awaiting on his seat at the Great Hall, ‘friendly’ arguments filling the house when he was back home. All of this was the result of grief that never ceased – and he understood.
What he did develop during the last years of his childhood was compassion, listening to people and helping them out in any way he could. Everyone knew Frank Longbottom – the golden boy, high marks, part of the Quidditch team and the sentinel of the student body. After graduating, he decided that continuing his father’s legacy was the right thing to do. Now an Auror, he is determined to stop the injustice with courage fueling his heart and his doubts left behind.
