“You’re a cheeky little shit.” She grinned nipping at his bottom lip. “Frank Longbottoms secret side. And it’s all mine.” Clicking her tongue the auror pulled away slightly. “So does that mean if I let you got now, you’ll be back sooner. I hope that’s what it means. I have the next two days off and I want to spend them with you, so I don’t crazy.” Once more Alice smoothed out Franks jacket, straighten his tie and put his hair back in place. “Go on then. Be back soon and if they don’t like what you have to say, send an owl and I’ll fight them for you. Give them a piece of my mind. Okay.”
“You made me this way, Alice.” Frank grinned against her lips, before he pulled away, his smile affectionate and his cheeks flushing red from embarrassment. Frank was never the one to be flirty, but ever since he started to date Alice he felt that it came more naturally, and teasing Alice became one of his favourite hobbies. “I should be home by six,” he said, tilting his head and smiling softly as he stood up. “And after that I’m all yours for however long you want me,” he said, patting down his suit, grabbing his bag and slinging it around his shoulder. “Okay, Alice. If anyone argues with me I’ll just tell them that my mental wife will cut them into tiny pieces, after they’ve agreed to publish m article, of course.” He chuckled, before he leaned over and kissed her cheek. “I love you, Mrs. Longbottom,” he grinned as he stepped back, admiring her for a moment before he turned and left. “The shorts are in the bottom drawer!” He said, as he closed the door behind him, apparating to the Prophet.

Alice smiled stupidly. She never thought she’d be one to settle down, no one would ever be able to deal with her. But Frank was something else. His calm, cool nature soothed the recklessness within her. He could make her smile with something as simple as a soft kiss. Despite the past two years the sound of Alice Longbottom could make her feel bright and happy. “My darling dearest Frank. It’s not that I necessarily like the shorts, it’s that I like your butt in the shorts. I will always encourage you to wear them.” Alice laughed before leaning forward and giving him a small quick kiss.
Frank bit his lip as he looked up at his wife, admiring her cheeky grin and the way her eyes twinkled in the low light of their bedroom. He didn’t know how she managed; how she could be so incredibly beautiful and radiant all the time. Surely one would stop being so magnificent at one point, but now Alice. To Frank, his wife never lost her charm and he could not feel happier about marrying her for she was, without a doubt in his mind, the love of his life. “Well,” Frank said, pecking her lips absently, running a hand through her hair. “I bet your bum would look amazing in my shorts.” He teased with a little giggle, his cheeks flushing red. “Just an idea for when I get home later.”

Doing better than good I’m pretty happy. And you? How’s Alice? I haven’t seen her lately.” Doe wasn’t an Order member but she knew most all of them. They were her friends, they respected her choice to abstain for now.
Frank looked over at her almost reassuringly. “I heard about that,” he said softly. “I’m glad you’re feeling better. If there’s ever anything I can do for you, just let me know.” He offered to her, an act of kindess that came naturally to a Longbottom. “And Alice and I are good. She talks about you sometimes, you should call around sometime, we would be more than happy to have you.”

“Everyone hates the shorts for some reason,” Frank said, pouting a little. “Personally, I like them. I think they’re a nice touch.” At her next words, Frank smiled softly. “You got that right. My wife is gorgeous, so clearly the shorts worked.”

Frank looked down, sighing massively. “I haven’t warn a suit since... well, since my wedding, actually.” He said with a chuckle, shrugging. “Well, what can I say? Alice finally convinced me to attend, and I thought I’d get a suit to honour the ocassion.”

Malfoys have Sanctimonia Vincet Semper , the Black Family has Toujours Pur and we the Longbottoms have “Good Legs for Days” everyone is goin’ to be jealous.” Alice pulled him by his tie, sitting him down on the edge of the bed, sighing. “You’d be a shit journalist. And you’re not so like I said they can shove that opinion up their asses.” For a moment she was silent before smiling slightly. “Do it. Show up in your shorts, defend your piece and if they have a problem then I’ll fight them. Sound like a plan.
Frank chuckled loudly, shaking his head. “Who needs fancy Latin motos when you’ve got killer legs?” He sat down on the edge of the bed, reaching out for her hands and taking them in his, his thumbs rubbing her skin. He took in her words with a smile, looking up at her and holding her gaze for a moment. “You know what?” He said, bringing her hand to his lips and kissing her skin softly. “I really don’t deserve you, Alice Longbottom. I think you might be the only person to actually like my shorts.”

I’m showin’ up in my jim jams, the ones with the breakfast stain, bunny slippers included.” Tiny arms wrapped around Frank as she laughed at the idea of such an image. “I honestly don’t understand why people don’t just let us do what we want. Obviously we’ve never let anyone down. They can shove whatever opinions they have on your piece right up their asses.”
“Oh please,” Frank rolled his eyes as he used his hand to toy with her hair, looking down at her through loving eyes. “You most definitely have the legs for the shorts. You’re a Longbottom now, and good legs are in our legacy,” he chuckled as he leaned down and placed a kiss on her forehead, holding his lips there for a long moment before breaking away and smiling, almost sadly. “Well,” he sighed. “The Prophet didn’t like what I had to say about Pureblood privilege, but... what kind of journalist would I be if I let the most important stories be censored?”

Lorcan’s gaze dropped to the hand that Frank held out and slipped his own back into his pocket, letting a brisk laugh out, “Sorry, thought you were somebody else.” At the introduction of the other man, another laugh was let out accompanied by a smirk, “Longbottom.. That’s an odd name, isn’t it? I’m Lorcan D’Eath however, I’m sure you’ve heard of me.”
Frank took back his hand with a polite smile, rather embarrassed. “Sorry to disappoint,” he replied with a small laugh, no humour in it. “Yes, very funny indeed.” He said, almost a little coldly, before he let a surprised expression cross his face. “Ah, yes. Your legacy proceeds you, Mr. D’Eath. Nice to finally put a face to the name.”

“Oh your mother would have loved that. Showing up in those, I would have been jealous really, you lookin’ so cool, upstaging me and all..” She closed her eyes laughing lightly. “Tell ya what. Next anniversary we wear whatever we want, get pictures frame it and place it right next to our wedding photos. Expand the image.” Alice brushed her hair behind her ear and smiled up at Frank. “Must be serious if they got ya wearing a suit.”
Frank considered her idea with a nod, chuckling lightly. “Or better yet, why don’t we wear matching shorts, put that piece of art beside our wedding photos, hm?” He suggsted wih a gentle laugh, leaning down and placing his forehead against hers, smiling to himself. “Yeah,” he replied, almost deflated. “Meetng at work. They didn’t like an article I wrote. I’m sure it’s nothing.”

Frank felt a blush creep onto his face, and he looked away from his wife with a small grin. He didn’t know how Alice, after so many years, could reduce him to a blushing school boy. “You know, I did once consider showing up to our wedding in the green shorts. But you looked so perfect in your dress that I didn’t want to taint our image, you know?”
