A chinese wlw drama featuring two female leads has been officially announced for the first time ever!!

Titled 双镜 "Double Mirror", it is set in the Republic period (1912-1949), before the Communist Revolution.

Xu Youyi (played by Zhang Nan) is a female author who is kept in the dark about her rich husband's philandering ways. Yan Wei (played by Sun Yihan) is a murderess disguised as the owner of a photography studio.

As the relationship between the women deepens, they work together to destroy the cheating husband and his side piece.

The COVID relief bill gonna pass the House later this week and they’ve set a prospective date for March 14 for it to pass Senate. It narrowly defeated the House Budget Committee yesterday because the Republicans are, again, being a problem and claiming it’s too much money, and it may have problems in the Senate because most legislation requires 60 votes. They can only pass it with a simple majority (50 plus Kamala Harris’s tiebreaker vote) if it is ruled as budget reconciliation, which they are making arguments for and against this week due to the clause that raises the minimum wage to 15 dollars nationwide.

Money allocation is a legislative decision, not an executive decision, and Joe Biden doesn’t come into the equation until the bill actually arrives on his desk. If you want your money, contact/threaten Republican Congressmen, since they’re the ones who are actually delaying the bill.

normally we’re on the same page, @franzurapika , but ngl i’m pretty tired of ppl blaming Biden for things out of his control/expecting really unrealistic things from him. the $1400 stimulus checks are part of his $1.9 billion COVID relief bill, which also includes expanded unemployment and is set to increase the minimum wage to $15 by 2025. He can’t wave a wand and pass a bill himself, it has to go through the House and Senate. Vox reported on the bill 4 days ago (today is Feb 26, 2021) saying that it’s just starting to take shape (that $15 min wage is threatening to make it take a lot longer). What do you want Joe to do, go down there and yell at the people who are also confirming his cabinet picks, who were also working on the impeachment for a few weeks there, who also are looking into how to undo the ICE nightmare the previous administration created that everyone’s also mad Biden hasn’t fixed overnight, who also are still investigating the Jan 6 stuff, who also need to address all of Biden’s other platform goals and campaign promises, to get a nearly 2 billion dollar budget together that the republicans hate already more quickly? And FWIW, Biden IS publicly arguing for the bill to be passed as it is. He is doing the thing you’re saying he needs to be doing! He is!

Like I’m sorry, I just don’t see how this is a Biden problem when it’s been McConnell’s fault for the last year that we haven’t had any new relief legislation and it’s still conservatives in congress tying up the bill now. I agree and understand that it is incredibly frustrating to wait for relief that’s still ludicrously insufficient, and the fact that a now insufficient $15 min wage is what’s really tying this up is truly maddening, but this general demand that Biden fix all of our ills immediately is just not realistic and sets up a situation where we’ve made sure he’ll fail just by not living up to literally impossible expectations. “Push him left” doesn’t mean “make him fulfill all of his campaign promises in a month or less.” It also doesn’t mean “hold him accountable for the sins of congressional republicans.” It means understand what he is actually capable of and push him to fulfill it to the leftmost possible place. It doesn’t mean “as fast as possible,” either. If you want the $1400 faster, message your reps in the House and Senate and make them do the bill faster. We have other elected officials besides the president that should be doing work for us, that need to be doing work for us. Put your ire into them.

I already have and do. Joe decided to put precedent over using executive actions to reverse the worst elements of an unprecedented predecessor. He AND his flunkies are continuing to roll out shit policy while asking people to wait as they starve. The man overpromised, underperformed on timeline, and now is somehow managing to do WORSE damage than any of us sneered he MIGHT do way back in the primaries. “Better than Drumpfe” is not the bar to which I’m going to hold one of the most experience politicians alive.  His policy promises ARE within his powers, and right now; he simply chose to reprioritize. I don’t understand why. I don’t see any need to be polite to Joey. I don’t understand why it bothers you so much.

Just found out something awful that happened to one of my best friends from childhood and i can't stop sobbing. Shes the sweetest person and i wish i could help her somehow. She called me crying and told me her moms bf assaulted her last month and now shes worried because shes late and been feeling sick.
