WEEK 11 - SELF TITLED - ‘Life (before A Levels)’
So recently I got myself a Polaroid as I felt like experimenting with different forms of photography to try and represent lifestyle. I really liked Polaroids in particular because they possess a candid feeling similar to reality as well as an adversely nostalgic warmth and grain. I’m also really drawn to how simplistic yet effective the photos can turn out also - no digital manipulation, cant change any settings, it’s just instant and therefore the picture ‘is what it is’ . This photo-set is just based on what I do/see on a daily basis.

WEEK 9 - WHAT IS IT
Kinda struggled on this theme, I wanted to photograph something that kept in touch with ‘my style’, therefore close-ups of things were out of the question.. In the end I decided to save some photos from my holiday for this theme of long exposures outside the house we were staying in, good thing was that it was in the middle of the island (of Menorca) away from the bigger towns and cities on the coastline, giving me and the camera great visibility of the stars and the Milky Way too. I had my camera on a shutter speed of around 15-30 secs on f/2.8 and ISO 6400 - all helped to expose the light from the stars and more importantly, give detail to the Milky Way - Was beyond stoked when I got these !

WEEK 9 - IN MY OPINION.. (CONTINUED)
These are the rest of the photos I had taken in some woods in Switzerland while out camping with my friends. My goal was to represent the experience as something nostalgic, something with a great sense of warmth. This time in the orning I shot at a low ISO (50-200) of f/1.4 (@35mm) meaning that I had to compensate the exposure by turning up the shutter speed.
Ultimately I think this shoot was a success; I documented the scenario in a way that I thought represented the theme as well as our lifestyle - I did this through taking pictures of people and objects and then colour graded the photos on Photoshop so that the said theme was more prominent...

WEEK 9 - IN MY OPINION...
In my opinion we, as a human race, should get out and experience as much of the world as we can; we live in a world of ‘limitations’ and ‘prejudice’, however with enough experience travelling and opening your mind to different cultures, lifestyles, music, scenery and people we can open our minds and change that to a world of opportunity, love and compassion, as stupid as it sounds, travelling around Europe has totally changed the way I will function as a person. Basics: go out, take pictures, do what you like..
anyways, sorry for the motivational speech there, these are photos I had taken in some woods in Switzerland while out camping with my friends. My goal was to represent the experience as something nostalgic, something with a great sense of warmth. I shot at a farily high ISO (1250-3200) which added a slight grain to the photos (helping to represent said theme) and an aperture of f/1.4 (@35mm) which helped a lot to expose the image despite the fact the only light we had was the fire.

I had the time of my life making all of this. thank you all. especially those of you who never let me forget I had to finish. which is basically every one of ya’ll. haha. love you.

WEEK 8 - SAME SUBJECT, 4 ANGLES 'Deep Fried Friends' Last week i was in Switzerland, where my friends and I met up with and old friend who now lives over there. We hadn't seen him for 2 years so it was great to have a skate and swim in Lake Geneva together. Being with these guys made me realise how valuable friends actually are - i chose these photos as they represent our friendship as well as the beauty of the location u kno @photographystephen @esherphotography
WEEK 7 - MY FAVORITE… My favourite thing that i’ve done/doing this summer is Travelling via Interailing. I met with my two friends in Venice, Italy after a family holiday and so far we’ve interrailed from Venice - Milan - Chur and as im writing this im in a hostel in Zermatt (where the Matterhorn is) but yeah its really opened my eyes to a completely new way if living and so far ive had some of the best experiences of my life ! @photographystephen @esherphotography

WEEK 6 - MORNING LIGHT 5:30. The morning after the club, I went down to a coast named Favaritx which is known for it's lighthouse and jagged rock formations, luckily this scene faces directly to the east so I got some awesome images of the sun coming up over the clouds and some moody pictures of the blue sea (Edited on Instagram) @esherphotography @photographystephen
WEEK 5 - LOOKING UP, LOOKING DOWN
So for this shoot i went to a club inside a cave in Menorca to watch the sunset. The light was pretty much perfect for this shoot it illuminates the cliffside very nicely and creates a warm gradient from the sea into the sky. Would like to have seen if a ND filter could’ve improved the picture of the horizon… Also chucked in a few club/lifestyle shots at the end yo (Edited on Instagram)

WEEK 4 - SELF PORTRAIT
I had trouble coming up with a concept for this shoot as I wasnt sure whether to do any manipulation etc. but in the end I kept it simple and attempted to do like a ‘mini-documentary series’ on me and things in my bedroom; stuff that, essentially, describes me and my interests etc. - thought I wouldnt change anything about my room as it represents me better u kno
