Though Belle was still making a ton of comments in regards to Nicolette, Ben was impressed by how relaxed she was being. The girl Belle had idolized since the twins were little kids was standing across from her in sweats, with no makeup and hair that was still very clearly morning-after hair. Ben expected her to be freaking out so much more than she was, even though he hadn’t wanted her to. “Nah. Nah, you’re the tween, he’s the teen,” he decided teasingly. “You may have bought Buttercup, but he’s the one that named her Princess Buttercup.” He smiled playfully, but his gaze was directed over to Nicolette instead when Belle commented on how pretty she was. 

He smiled. “I have told her that. She’s probably sick of hearing it by now,” he reassured his sister, laughing, and continued to give his girlfriend a big, affectionate smile as she spoke to Belle before remembering he was supposed to be cooking. “Stop talking, both of you. You’re distracting me from cooking,” he pointed out accusingly, returning to what he’d been doing.

Belle was trying very hard to not reference to Nicolette, as Nicolette, but it was hard not too. to her, Nicolette had always been Nicolette Graham. Her being her brothers boyfriend was a whole other level of weirdness and it would take the girl a long time to get used to and probably a long time for her to call her just Nicolette, her brothers girlfriend. She wasn’t sure if she would ever be able to do that. “Okay, but come on, Princess Buttercup is the best possible name for a pig. Don’t you agree?” She hummed, setting her coffee cup down and looking at the popstar, “What do you think? What would you name your pet pig?”

“You can say it a million times, I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of hearing you say it.” She told Ben, then gently jumped up onto the counter, sitting beside the stove so she could see her boyfriend as he cooked. “I’m sorry, we’ll just talk amongst ourselves. We’ll stop bothering you, since you can’t seem to multi-task.” She teased, then looked over to Belle, “I don’t think I’d ever have a pet pig, so naming him or her wouldn’t be something that I had to do.”

It was kind of sickeningly perfect, their relationship. Well, for the most part - minus six little months. But the rest of it. Going from dreamy stared to shy flirting to being so in love it was a little dizzying. It was like a cheesy movie Belle would drag him to the theater to watch, and he’d act like he hated it but then buy it the second it came out. But Otis loved that about them. He loved every bit of their stupidly cheesy romance, and he’d love ever bit of the years to come of it.

Brew Well was only a few blocks from Otis and Belle’s apartment, but it sure felt like an eternity away since he wasn’t able to hug or kiss her like he was still dying to. But when he finally parked outside their building, the first thing he did when the car was off was cup her cheeks in his hands and pull her in for another kiss. “I love you,” he told her again, through his huge smile, then got out of the car and went around to open her door too. He offered his hand to help her out, then pulled her into a tight hug as soon as she was out. “I just - I’ve never smiled this much in my life,” he said, through a happy laugh, squeezing her tight.

They were the kind of couple that people got sick over. They were far too perfect. Sure the couple had bickered, but that was what made a couple real. But at the end of the day, they cared more about each others well being more than their own. They had been together for two years now, besides the six months, but for as long as she’d known Otis, she knew that was just the start. Now they were engaged and she knew their life was truly just beginning. It was each other that completed them.

The ride home was forever, though in reality it was less than five minutes. She wanted contact with her fiance. Yeah, they could hold hands, but that was the extent of what they could do while he was driving. But as soon as they were in park, Otis kissed her in the way she had been waiting to do to him. As soon as she stepped out of the car, she fell into the hug that Otis had been waiting to give her. She snuggled her face into his chest for a moment, the smile not falling from her face. “Neither have I, Otis.” She said, “I know we’ve talked about getting married, but this is real, Otis. We’re actually engaged to be married.”

Ben accusingly pointed his whisk at his sister. “Hey, I did a lot of growing up in those fifteen minutes. I basically learned how to fend for myself, yanno,” he informed her, tone deadly serious even though the things he said were completely the opposite. And he shook his head. “No, see, if you were engaged to someone else then you’d be more grown up, but Otis is just as much of a little kid as you are. It’s just a fact.” Ben loved his soon-to-be brother-in-law greatly, they’d become close friends since he and Belle got involved, but Otis was pretty much just a male version of his sister. “Yes, you can stay,” Ben told her. “Just because my girlfriend is here doesn’t mean my sister can’t be, too.”

A happy hum emitted from Ben when she hugged him from behind, and he looked over his shoulder for a minute to give her a warm, big smile. “We’re gonna wake up one day and we’ll both be on the floor because we sleep-fought over bed space too much,” he agreed through a laugh, clearing away the rest of the mess and getting out the ingredients to make more batter. “Yeah, Belle, stay. You two need to get to know each other more, anyway. Plus, I haven’t seen you since you got engaged, so I’ve missed you, too,” he pointed out to her.

Part of Belle felt as if she was intruding on the couples morning, but the other part of her felt honored to be there, in the same apartment, that Nicolette Graham was spending her morning. The girl was in a pair of sweatpants, that was something they didn’t see in the media, but Belle was getting to see right at this moment. “Oh yeah, those fifteen minutes taught you so much about the world.” She knew how well Otis and Ben got along and she was appreciative of that, but that also meant that Ben could pick on Otis in the same way he picked on her. She stuck her tongue out at her brother, “My boyfr--fiance is very adultish. I was the one who adopted a pig, not him. He is the adult in our relationship.” She ensured her brother. “Thank you for letting me stay. I’ve missed you, Ben.” She said, then looked to the superstar. “You’re kind of super duper pretty even just like this. I hope my brother let you know that.”

Nicolette laughed at Ben’s comment. “That will most likely happen, and you know, I probably won’t even mind that it happens because it was you that I was sleep fighting with.” She said, taking a sip from her coffee, then turning on her heel back to Belle. “Thank you. you’re just full of compliments.” The star said, but then looked between the twins. “Your brother has been nothing but great. He has told me that. He told me that the second I woke up this morning. You have a really wonderful brother.”

Brew Well had good coffee and good food - because Ben was in charge of all the recipes - but even before Otis knew the twins he’d been sure a lot of business they got was initially to oggle at the siblings behind the counter. Belle, especially. She hadn’t even been the one serving him the first day he’d come into the shop, but the brunette couldn’t stop staring over her brother’s head at her cleaning up the counters behind him. Even back then, she’d been the prettiest girl he’d ever laid his eyes on, and now she was going to be his wife about two ad a half years later.

Otis looked over at Belle when she spoke to him in the car, glad to see her unfading smile still matched his. He couldn’t think of a time in the near future that his smile wouldn’t be there because of this. “I know. Finally.” He reached over and took her hand into his firmly after he’d started driving. “I’ve been able to see forever with you from the first day we spoke and now we’re finally getting it started. I’m so happy. I’ve never been this happy.” He looked over at her again. “I love you so much.”

Belle took pride on Brew Well. To her, the coffee shop had always been the small little home that her and Ben had made for themselves here in America. But then Otis came into the shop, frequently and her little shop became more than just her home. It became where she could watch this cute guy from afar, without fearing that he felt awkward. He kept coming in, and sometimes she caught him glancing at her, so it had made her job more enjoyable than it had already been. But now, she had a home with her little crush from the shop, and she had a diamond ring on her finger, showing the world she was in love. 

They couldn’t stop smiling. She knew he would be smiling for as long as she would, and she didn’t think she’d stop smiling until years down the road. She was so happy, it almost ached. She squeezed his hand as he drove, “You have always been my story, Otis.” She brought his hands up to her lips, kissing them softly, for a long moment looking over at him. “I love you, I love you. I can’t wait for the rest of our life together.”

Belle and Otis had simply existed in one another’s lives long before they had actual roles in them. He’d been coming into Brew Well for a few months before they’d spoken, and it seemed as if they’d been taking turns staring at each other or acting like they hadn’t been staring. If it had been up to then twenty-year-old Otis, that would probably still be how it was with them today, thanks to his habit of never doing anything for himself. He was more and more thankful for looking as stressed as he had that day Belle decided to give him some free food, because that day turned out to be the actual start of his life.

Otis looped his arms around her small waist tightly to hug her back, still smiling as she kissed him. “Yeah, yeah let’s go. Yeah.” He let go of her, taking his hand in hers instead, and gave Ben a quick wave goodbye on their way out. He tugged his car door open for her once they were outside and gave her another fast kiss before letting her get in and going around to get into his seat.

She knew there was a time when Otis was just a pretty face that she liked to look at from across  Brew Well. He could walk into a room, and there would be girls looking, he was an attractive young man, there was no reason for people to not look his way. She had honestly believed that was all their relationship was going to be. But now, she was the lucky girl that got to stand beside him at social gathering, she was the one who got to go home to him at night, and he was the one who filled her heart with all this joy that she didn’t know was possible. Now, they were going to marry and be together for the rest of their lives.

She smiled, waving once more to her brother on the way out of the coffee shop. The smile on her face honestly felt like it was going to break her cheeks, if that was possible. She slipped into the car, buckling her seatbelt. She couldn’t help but admire the diamond on her finger. She looked over to Otis, “You’re going to make me Maybelle Flynn one day. We’re going to be the Flynn’s. Mrs. Otis Flynn, that’s going to be me.” She sighed happily.

“I absolutely do have to embarrass you,” Ben corrected her loftily, looking up from the mess he was clearing up to look over at his twin sister. “You’re my baby sister, it’s what I do.” Which was a massive exaggeration and a long-running inside joke. Ben was about fifteen minutes older than Belle. Baby sister was just the bullshit he’d been pulling on her since they’d found out about that from their parents.

The blond’s grin grew when she kissed his cheek, though he was still busying himself with clearing away the burnt batter residue on his cooktop while the two girls talked. Nicolette was just about the sweetest person he knew, hands down, but it was making him incredibly happy that she and his sister were getting along so well. And that Belle wasn’t freaking out as badly as he expected her to. “Or,” Ben chimed in, “think of her as a selfish bedhog that made a good effort to get your brother to sleep on the floor.” He looked accusingly over his shoulder at Nicolette. He’d teased her about that same thing when they’d woken up that morning only to find she’d taken up about ninety percent of his bed with her tiny body. But it had still easily been the best night of sleep he’d ever had.

Belle still didn’t understand it. She didn’t understand how one day, your life can be completely normal, and the next day her brother could be dating a huge superstar. She made a face at her brother when he called her his baby sister, “Fifteen whole minutes, that doesn’t make me a baby.” She reminded him, grabbing an apple from the bowl of fruit and biting into it. “Plus, I’m the one whos engaged. I’m so much more grown up then you are.” She teased, taking a bite into her apple but then turned to Nicolette. “I bet Ben is more than a bed hog than you. I’m surprised you didn’t end up on the floor.” She said, then looked to her brother, “Do you want me to go? I know you said I could stay, but I know you -- I mean, Nicolette Graham is here, oh my gosh, Nicolette Graham is here.”

Nicolette felt bad for allowing Ben to clean her mess up. People were always cleaning up after her, and she always did her best to pitch in and help out. But she was enjoying her talk with his sister “He is a bed hog.” She agreed, “But I have always been a bedhog too, we’ll probably break each others face by kicking each other, but it’ll be okay.” She said, with a huge smile, gently hugging Ben from behind once more. She stood on her tippy toes, kissing the back of his neck lightly then turned back to Belle. “Please, don’t go. Stay. Please. I want you to stay.”

Otis didn’t mind that their first date had gone wrong in basically every possible way. Well, in the moment he had minded quite a lot, but that was two years in their past. Now they were engaged to be married to one another, and Otis was thankful for that night when their plans had gone to shit. And the night mere weeks into their relationship when he’d thrown up on her lap, the night that had ended their relationship and the painful six months that followed, and every other miserable accident in between. They’d been little snippets of hell along the way, but Otis would be more than happy to relive them all again knowing where they’d lead to now.

Ben laughed. “Like I’m gonna make you just stay here after this happens. Yes, I’m sure, B, you two need to go celebrate and call family members and whatnot.” Well, Otis’ family members. Ben and Belle had spoken to their parents maybe a total of ten times since they’d moved to New York; they’d probably find out through Facebook. “Go on, shoo. Go have fun.” He hugged his sister one more time and kissed her cheek, then released her and gestured for both her and Otis to leave.

Their date probably should have ended after all the attempts at doing things, but it didn’t and she was thankful it hadn’t. If they had ended their date prematurely, she wouldn’t have found the best relationship of her life. If it had ended, she would probably still be watching him drinking his latte from behind the counter, blushing whenever his eyes met hers. As much as she loved watching him from afar, getting to know every little thing about him, and then getting to know every inch of his body, she loved it way more than watching him from afar. She loved him, and she was glad he would be her partner for the rest of her life.

She smiled widely at her brother, hugging him once more, then giving him a cheek right back, then ran to her boyfriend turned fiance. She hugged him tightly, kissing his lips once more, with a smile that she was sure would break her cheeks eventually.  “Lets go celebrate.” She said, excitedly. “We can get pizza, and go back to our apartment and celebrate with our animals and I just love you and I just want to be with you.” She rambled on.

Ben had always acted extremely normal around Nicolette, not like someone should around a massive popstar, but he did. And he knew it was always kind of weird for Belle to witness, when they were in the coffee shop. But now it’d be even weirder. They were in his apartment, and to make it worse it was the morning after their first time together. They were going to be very affectionate, no doubt, and he knew how amazed Belle would be by it. 

“It’s okay. Don’t feel bad - Belle, though, I reckon I’ve showed her how to make these about… I suppose ten, fifteen times, and she burns them every time.” He shot a playfully dirty look at his twin. “You’ll never be as hopeless as Belle Breakwell. Keep your head up,” he informed Nicolette teasingly, laughing and shooting a grin at Belle. But she still had that weird expression on her face. “I’ve got it, babe, don’t worry,” he assured her dismissively, stepping around her so he could clean it up.

Belle didn’t understand how her brother was so cool around Nicolette. The blood was rushing through her veins at a quick pace just by being in the same room as her. She desperately wanted to explode, but she was doing her best to keep her cool since it was Ben’s girlfriend. She saw a pot of coffee on the countertop, so she grabbed herself a mug and made herself a cup of coffee. “You don’t have to embarrass me, Ben.” She said, taking a seat a the countertop in the kitchen at the bar stools. She took a sip of her coffee, glancing at Nicolette. “I’m sorry, I feel like I’m staring, but I just can’t help it.”

Nicolette laughed softly at Ben. “Well, don’t you worry your pretty little head Belle. He’ll probably teach me just as many times, and I still won’t grasp it.” She informed the younger girl, then looked back at Ben with a sigh. “You’re pretty good at cleaning up my messes.” She told him, kissing his cheek then turned back to Belle. “Please, don’t even worry. I’m used to it.” She said, picking up her own coffee mug, sipping from it. “But, I can promise you I’m just a normal person just like you. And yeah, I go on tours, and make music. But don’t think of me as that girl, think of me as your brothers girlfriend.” She said, gently resting her cheek on Ben’s back lightly.

Their first date had been a horrible disaster starting out. It took him ages to finally get up the courage to ask her, and even then he’d been pushed majorly by Ben to do so. And then the restaurant they’d planned on going to was closed. And then it started raining. All in all, it had gone absolutely wrong, and anyone else would have said it was the universe telling them to call it a quits. But they hadn’t. They’d spent all night on his couch, eating pizza and talking about everything. Otis had thought it was the best night of his life, but every single night he spent with Belle from then on out just continued to prove him wrong.

Otis let her pull out of the kiss, his dazed smile still in tact on his face. He felt dizzy in the best way possible right then. Ben had stopped where he’d been, leaning against the kitchen doorway, and he gladly opened his arms to accept the hug his twin ran to him with. “You’re engaged! I know!” Ben said happily, smiling brightly as he hugged her. When she released him, he stepped forward to give Otis a brief hug as well. “Congratulations, mate,” he added as they pulled back from the hug, and then Ben turned back to his sister. “You should take the rest of the day off, go celebrate,” he invited.

Everyone looks at the first date as what the relationship will look like. But if that had been the case, the two of them would have a disaster of a relationship. Everything seemed to go wrong when they went out on their first date, up until they got to his apartment with a pizza. He had seemed to want to impress her so much by going to a fancy restaurant, but it turned out pizza was far more impressive to the girl. She loved pizza, and she loved the hours they stayed up talking endlessly on about each other. On their first date, she fell asleep on his couch, and stayed there the entire night. IT was what she considered the best date of her life, but then each date she went on with Otis, got better and better.

She was thrilled, she could only imagine how much money Otis had spent on the ring that she wore on her finger. It was gorgeous and she knew she was going to spend hours adoring it later on. “I’m going to be married!” She squealed to her brother, looking back to the ring then back to her brother happily. Her eyes raised up at him, “Are you sure? I know we have a few other people on working, but its very busy.” She said, looking around the crowded coffee shop.

Otis had dated a few people throughout his life, but those relationships never lasted much longer than a month. He’d been fine with that, he always just figured if he was supposed to be in a relationship he’d find himself in one. And then he did, he found himself in a relationship with the most amazing person he could ever imagine meeting. For the first time ever he actually could imagine a future Otis, and it was always with future Belle. He’d never thought to vocalize that, of course, but he’d been able to picture it from the first day they’d met. And he was finally making it happen.

He was nervous, very suddenly very nervous, and it was hard to find words for a minute. His throat had dried up completely. But he didn’t have to say anything, apparently, Belle was already holding her hand out. His eyes went wide in a combination of relief and joy, and he took her hand again to shakily slip the ring onto her ring finger. Then he straightened up and looped his arms around her waist, pulling her body close to his own as he kissed her through his huge smile. “I love you,” he breathed out, pulling back just enough to say that before he kissed her again.

Belle knew right away that her relationship with Otis was right from the moment they started dating. They said that you know the person you’re meant to be with when you meet them. That was exactly what it was like when she started dating Otis the first time around. It was as if there was some giant lighted sign flashing above his head saying ‘its me, im the one for you’. She knew she wanted to spend her entire life with him, and now she was going to get to do just that. She was going to be Mrs. Flynn and spend every single day being his other half.

“I love you more.” She stated, as he stood up to give her the softest sweetest kiss she had ever had. She smiled into the kiss, hearing the customers cheering on for the newly engaged couple. After a longer kiss, she pulled back smiling bigger than she ever did. “Did you hear that everyone? I’m getting married!” She announced to the coffee shop happily, then she turned to see her fiance, a huge smile on her face. Then she turned, seeing her brother. She ran over to her twin, wrapping her arms around his neck gently, then pulled back, “I’m engaged, Ben!”

Ben let Nicolette step away from him to hug his sister, relieved she’d yet to do anything dramatic or over the top. He loved that his twin was as emotional as she was, he thought it was a sweet quality in a person, but he didn’t want it to come out just right now. He didn’t want his girlfriend to get it because she was Nicolette Graham. But so far she hadn’t, and he was super thankful for that.

He smiled brightly when Nicolette hugged his sister, and when she’d stopped he slipped both his arms around his girlfriend’s waist to hug her against his chest while she was still facing Belle. She was so sweet and so friendly, it warmed him all over. “I reckon you’ll want to stay for breakfast? I’m making my banana crepes. Or - “ He looked back at the burnt mess on the stove. “I’m making regular crepes now since that was the last of the banana batter. Blame Nic for that.” He released her so he could go clean up the little mess she’d made, but smiled warmly at her to ensure her that he was kidding.

Belle wanted to watch. She wanted to stand back, and observe her brother with Nicolette. He wasn’t freaking out like she so badly wanted to do. She would never accomplish the kinds of things that this girl had accomplished. Her brother though, was so natural with her. The way he set his arms around her waist, and held her gently. “Oh, your banana crepes are the best.” She said, then shook her head, “But your regular crepes are just as great.” She said, then watched Nicolette move around the kitchen. “I’m sorry, I just can’t believe you’re here. In our apartment. I mean -- Ben’s apartment.”

Nicolette smiled when she was in Ben’s arms. They were happy. Her and Ben were, and now she was getting to meet his twin sister. She was just as adorable as Ben. She was sweet, and trying not to freak out and Nicolette thought it was sweet. “Yeah -- sorry about that. I tried.” She said, heading over to the counter to clean up her mess. “I can clean it up, Ben.” She promised, then turned on her heel to see Belle. “Well, you’re quite adorable Belle.”

The decision to buy a ring had been extremely last minute for Otis. He’d been thinking about proposing to his girlfriend for a few days now and he knew he’d buy a ring before too long, but he’d literally decided to do it so soon because he’d seen the jeweler’s in the strip he was passing on his way from work and decided to go in right then. It might have been pretty impulsive, but that didn’t mean he was any less excited to spend the rest of his life with her.

Otis scoffed. “Maybelle, please. That’s nowhere near dramatic enough for me,” he reminded her loftily, shaking his head in disappointment that she dare forget. “I do deserve my own table here. I’m, like, half your business. Well. I used to be half your business.” He looked back at everyone once again, then back at her. His eyes landed on hers when he did, admiring the way the corners of them crinkled up ever so slightly when she smiled, and the way her cheeks were just a tad pink from how much she’d had to put on her work smile for the influx of customers today. And even though he’d planned on waiting for a more romantic setting, he found he just couldn’t help himself. He stood up straight from his leaned position on the counter and went around it to join her behind it.
