You don’t think Niall is being a hypocrite when he pretends we don’t know that he has a girlfriend? He’s hiding on purpose and treating us like we’re stupid?
What about this is hypocrisy? Because he isn’t shouting from the rooftops that he’s taken? He is treating us like we’re his fans. Which we are. We’re not his friends. And because we are only his fans and not his friends, we don’t get to know things about his personal life. We don’t get to demand to know. We don’t get to be upset that he talks around it, despite knowing that we know.
Also, how do y’all think people would react if he WAS open? Not well! From the day that we found out, the WAY we found out, people have been digging into this girl’s life. Leaking her private photos, believing stories sold to the trashiest tabloid in the UK, making fake accounts for her, finding and commenting on her job’s instagram, posting anons spreading rumors about her, posting anons about how she’s not good enough for him, posting anons about how they’re bound to fail, etc.
He shares, you guys get pissy. He doesn’t, you still get pissy. He’s never ever going to be open about it. That’s not who he is. And if this is something you just realized and you’re upset by, that’s on you, not on him. I’m sorry but this whole “he’s changed” and whatever is so ridiculous. Nothing about how he’s being now is different than how he was with Hailee in terms of knowing that we know and not talking about it. The difference is that Mia is a normal girl, and somehow that’s an issue for people? If you think he would ever just pick out a fan and date her, that’s also completely ridiculous. This girl has been called a gold digger, attention seeker, gross, unworthy, amongst much more. So good on him to stand by the girl he’s seeing and cares about and keeping her and his relationship away from the prying eyes of unhinged fans.
