Heart to Heart (J'adore) || Jiyoon & Jimin
Jiyoon grinned slightly toward the other’s claim. It as funny, though. From her perspective, she did not hold the ability to place smiles upon sunflowers, but rather the exact opposite … Whatever that may have been. Jimin’s words were cheesy, and possibly even a bit adolescent; however, they provided warmth and reassurance – two things she could admit to desiring, but would never be so greedy as to ask. Although … she could not understand why the young man seemed to accept her answer so willingly. Sure, it was entirely true, but was it not obvious she asked for too much? Instead of wishing to be happy in one place, she wished to find contentment everywhere she traveled.
Stupid … Stupid, stupid, stupid, she thought to herself before Jimin began speaking again.
“You make it sound like one big adventure.”
She fixed her eyes on the ground as she stared in contemplation at nothing. “I think it should be,” she replied softly, inwardly scolding herself for being so selfish. “I mean … for everyone,” she added beneath her breath, correcting herself.
The young woman raised her gaze to search the other’s face as he thought of where he’d like to go. Where did he picture himself standing as he smiled and inhaled calm breaths of fresh air? Where could he see himself losing every ounce of weight he carried upon his shoulders? Or would he be like her, hoping to catch a soothing moment at each destination? If so, she couldn’t deem him to be thoughtless like she did herself. He’d just be adventurous – much like he appeared to think of her.
But he wasn’t like her. He wanted to go to Fiji.
The woman nodded to his answer, understanding that Fiji was allegedly a nice place to visit; however the man’s explanation as to why he chose Fiji made Jiyoon chuckle.
“You want to travel to this one location for its fruit?” She asked with another giggle. “Isn’t that more adventurous? I’m kind of jealous of your answer. It’s simple, but it’s filled with a sense of innocence.” She inhaled deeply before bending her neck back to look up and into nothing. “I think innocence is an important trait,” she added before meeting his eyes with another smile. How Park Jimin managed to offer her the comfort she often struggled to find, she couldn’t say, and if she could she wouldn’t. She would only accept and enjoy his ability as she simultaneously prayed she was somehow able to do the same for him.
“I think it should be” she started, her eyes glued to the ground beneath them as if the most interesting scene was unfolding there “I mean… for everyone”.
Jimin was caught be surprise when suddenly, the little waif before him dragged her gaze from the ground to his eyes locking on his gaze as if looking for something.
For a moment… Jimin was struck completely dumb. What had they been talking about? In the time it took for her to look at him…. REALLY look at him, with a subtle intensity he hadn’t seen in her before he had utterly and completely lost his train of thought. If someone had asked him his name he wouldn’t have remembered, much less where the conversation had taken them.
It was only for a split second…. A fraction of a moment but Jimin could swear that he felt something bristling in the air in that one gaze…. Soft yet intense, silent and reassuring at the same time. It was like Jiyoon wasn’t just looking at him in that moment…. But that she was SEEING him, deep down to the very core of his being. For Jimin being intangible was as close to being invisible as he would ever get…. Being able to phase through practically anything gave one a sense of confidence…. Knowing that technically NOTHING could ever hold you down… nothing could ever physically trap him as long as he had his power. But this…. This was different. It was like she had the ability to run through him…. as if she could see every moment of his life from before they met and it was a feeling like something he never knew before, enough to cause him to have the slightest intake of breaths, his lungs demanding penance in their anger for this most unexpected moment where time stood still.
He could feel the heat creeping up into his face as the blood in his veins flooded his cheeks, creating just the tiniest hint of a rosy glow in his otherwise milky complexion. Did she notice? God he hoped not… what would she think of him then? More importantly, why did he care so much what she thought of him? He tried in vain to grasp at any reasoning as to why he felt so strange and came up short…. Why his heart had begun to quicken and his mouth had suddenly gone dry in that one flickering gaze.
Jimin cleared his throat when he saw her glance heavenward, the melodic tune of her voice carrying her thoughts of his answer back to him before he caught up with the conversation again, his body once only reeling slightly from the temporary loss of control her gaze had on him. Innocence was what she had been speaking about…. Probably in response to his poorly thought up and juvenile “Fiji” answer.
But what about innocence? Why was it important?
“But what constitutes innocence noona?” Jimin blurted out before he could stop himself. He could feel himself scrambling again (WHY WAS HE DOING THAT SO MUCH LATELY???) and he bit his bottom lip as he mimicked her earlier move and started at the ground beneath them. Slowly he lifted his gaze, up, up, up... until it leveled with hers once more, his voice quiet as he continued, eager to know her answer.
“Do… Do you think I’m…. innocent?” he asked, the slightest hint of a smile bordered on the precipice of his lips.

Surprisingly Tangible | D.O & Jimin
D.O shook his head no and he couldn’t help but blush because he wasn’t even thinking of practicing anything performance related for the day, all he had in mind was to play around all day and kind of just relax – it made him feel like a slacker now that Jimin mentioned it. He can just try and come up with something new to do in the middle of his performance for some twists to show. He’d found it fun to experiment on his ability on-the-spot – it’s a bit risky though and it made him more careful not to make a mistake in the middle of performing, afraid he’d hurt any of the audience.
But his mini skipping rock game is kind of an exercise too; it allowed him to work on his control over manipulated earth better, so he thinks it is some kind of practice in a sense.
“I was just playing skipping rock by the pond actually,” he explained, looking at the direction where the pond was still very much visible. “But I guess you can call it practicing too? I’m working on my control over the rocks, but I prefer not to think of it as practice, I believe my control’s better when I’m just playing.”
With his ability requiring a strong mental stability to effectively control the rocks, being nervous creates too much distraction in his head that made the invisible bind on the manipulated rocks to weaken, and that’s something crucial on his every performance – because an audience normally mean a huge stage freight for him and he needs to calm himself again, and he finds himself more at ease when he feels like he’s just playing around and having fun. He can’t have his creations to crumble down in the middle of the show now can he?
This pretty much explains his skipping rock game.
“Why? Were you about to practice here?” D.O asked. “Maybe I can help… or something?”
"Ummm yeah i was" Jimin started, running his fingers through his choppy black hair as he breathed out a sigh, "I practice so often because I refuse to use my intangibility during my act. I mean.... Houdini didnt have the power of intangibility right? He was just a man which means... everything I do, I can do without the help of my gifts. Being an escape artist is a respectible art.... and so... I practice."
Jimin trailed off, unsure of what to say next. He couldnt help but be passionate about his feelings towards the art of illusion and he prided himself on always being on top of his game and pushing himself to the limits. Besides... D.O. asked right? He wouldnt have asked if he didnt genuinely want to know.
"As for helping me... I dont know how you could, at least not today since I'm just mastering new locks. But... um.... anytime I need more practice with my straightjacket I'll come find you ^^" he said with a laugh.
"No really" Jimin continued "Lacing that thing up all by myself is a bitch."
"So" Jimin said, the quiet overcoming him "Do you want to... i dont know... practice together? In the same area? ish?"
Demon Jimin
Heart to Heart (J'adore) || Jiyoon & Jimin
Jimin felt the light shake of his hand and smiled. He knew Jiyoon would take it easy on him… she was still nervous of her power and what detrimental things it could do to him. Its ok. He would give her all the time she needed. He wasnt going anywhere. Its a good thing she and so many others thought he was adorable… because he had a feeling that no one had come as close or pushed Jiyoon and her capabilities so far as he had.
"Noona" Jimin said, looking up at her through bright, slowly blinking eyes, giving her his best "innocent puppy" face, "I hear the circus is moving again soon… where would you want us all to go next? If YOU could pick where we went" he said with a smile, glancing around at nothing in particular. Thats when his eyes caught sight of her poorly hidden hand, the one she had held his cheek with once before…. the one she didnt try to slap his hand with. There were several nasty looking pieces of wood trapped in the softness of her palm and Jimin wondered what had caused this.
Jimin didnt think, he just reacted, grabbing her palm and spreading it gently to get a better view, the sharp slivers protruding from her flesh this way and that. He had no idea how she wasnt hurting right now, but he couldnt just sit idly by while her abused and probably aching palm was hurt. He felt the familiar fade of his molecules as he pressed his palm flat to hers, concentrating as the framework of her own diminished to nothing, her hand going as intangible as his, the splinters dropping from it as they passed through her and him to the floor below.
He looked up at her for a moment, concern in his eyes as he tried to read her face. It wasnt often he rendered someone intangible with him, and he bit his lips nervously as her cells and his returned to their proper place and order, their hands solid against one another once more.
He should remove his hand now that she was ok. He knew he should with the splinters out and with no other reason to touch her now…. but damn it if the little devil on his shoulder refused. He smiled up at her, the warm, carefree friendly one from before as his fingers laced through hers.
"Yeah noona" he said as if nothing had changed, his fingers curled between hers "Where would you like to go?"
If she could choose? Jiyoon had actually never taken the time out of her consistently blank schedule to contemplate the possible targets of the circus; nor did she think about the places she would enjoy visiting. Instantly the woman regretted having never asked herself before. She could have been prepared for this inquiry. She wouldn’t have been sitting, pondering and wasting another’s time just as she was now. She released an audible sign of concentrating and deep consideration. Within moments, though, and thankfully, Jiyoon had finally arrived to the most honest answer she could.
Parting her lips to speak, her first syllable was beaten by Jimin reaching for her hand. The guy had to be one of the most confident people in the world in regards of physical contact.
By now Jiyoon should have been accepting and calm toward his initiations, especially considering that she now half-expected to touch his palm at least once during each interaction with him. For some odd reason she was unable to deduce, howbeit, Jimin still managed to catch her off guard.
The woman flinched as her hand gently fell into the other’s. Her brows furrowed while she looked from his face to her own palm. Was he gazing at the miniscule wooden shards that protruding from her flesh? Fortunately, the splinters were so small she could have easily gone throughout the day without being bothered; in fact, Jiyoon would have likely ignored them until they became an obvious inconvenience.
With a light shake of her head, she nearly told the male not to worry, but was cut off once again – this time, by her own amazement. Within seconds her digits were molecularly similar to Jimin himself whenever he triggered his intangibility.
Her breath fell to the ground, along with the tiny shards, as she briefly swore she’d gone completely numb. When the density of her palm and fingers finally returned Jiyoon ascended her gaze back to the younger man, her lips so dry she skimmed her tongue over them thrice. She offered Jimin a perplexed stare before dismissing the entire ordeal at the sound of his repeating inquiry.
"Right, uhm … Well, if I’m being honest, I’m happy with anywhere and everywhere we go. I’d rather be surprised and in awe of each location rather than choose one specifically to constantly look forward to. I mean … if my attention is always taken to one place, I won’t really have the time to enjoy where I am … " Jiyoon allowed her words to trail off, suddenly feeling like her answer sounded more profound in her head than aloud. She momentarily wondered if she even made sense.
"But, where would you like to go, Jimin-ssi?" She asked, hopefully distracting him from her lackluster reply. Not only that, however; the blonde was honestly curious as to the whats, whos, and wheres that peeked the young raven’s interest.
Jimin smiled as he listened to Jiyoon speak of where she would like to go… or rather, how she was optimistic about going practically anywhere with the circus, taking and enjoying each place as they come to it rather than hoping to end up somewhere specific. What an adventurous way to look at things…. Both thought provoking and profound. Jimin remembered the apprehension he felt when he ran away to come here, the fear and nervousness with the unknown acting like shackles to his feet that night, the gravity of his own disappearance and hasty flight weighing on spirit and heart. He had almost missed the train that night. There was a moment there, standing in the clearing beside the tracks, where the guilt and fear at leaving everything he knew, everything that was familiar to him had bubbled to the surface, reaching up to choke out any and all hope that things could get better with his exit. He remembered his knees buckling as his breath came in shorter and shorter snatches, his body shaking with what he could only describe as despair. Was this the right thing to do? Was this his only choice? What if the world held more disgust and hate for him than he would have ever faced at home? What if? WHAT IF? He had heard the whistle of the train blowing as it drew closer and closer to the clearing, a sharp scream that cut through the night air signaling that his window of opportunity was quickly closing, and with it, any chance of things getting better. The irony of a boy who could literally phase through anything but his own feelings was not lost on Jimin. Yet here was this girl before him, someone whose abilities kept her physically closed off from people, but emotionally… she was as more open than anyone he had ever known before, her optimism at what the world had in store infectious as a laugh and as calming as a summer breeze. He could have used her hope that night to fight off those feelings of despair like a sword and shield. Maybe he could have it from now on… now that he was with her. Maybe facing his fear that night was a test… a test to ensure that someone like him was worthy of a friendship, a bond, with someone like her. If it was, he would take that test 100 times… 1000 times if the outcome would be the same. “Wahhhhh” Jimin started, his smile spreading wider as her words trailed off, no doubt an effort to censor herself. “Noona could make a sunflower smile” he said with a laugh. “You make it all sound like one big adventure… ” He bit his lips ever so slightly trying to find something more to say, something that would articulate just what her warm words invoked in him and after a few moments he just nodded. He wished she would finish her answer or at the very least, say something more for he found that he loved listening to the musical tone of her voice. Something about it was so warm, friendly and inviting. He didn’t feel like the circus was his home yet… but this girl… SHE felt more like home to him with each passing day. Was that odd? He was still relatively new to the circus after all and she had just returned. Would she think him weird if he told that or was it possible that she felt similarly? Jimin wasn’t sure… but maybe he wanted to find out. He was so lost in his own thoughts he almost missed her returning the question to him. “Ahh…. I… I think…. Ummm….” Jimin started “Fiji!” “Fiji? Really Jimin? That’s the best you could come up with?” he thought to himself. “Yeah Fiji…. cause….. of …the apples” he continued, as if that legitimized his statement. Jimin cringed to himself as he let the lie spill; hoping Jiyoon wouldn’t notice the mental ass kicking he was giving himself. “I call bullshit” his subconscious said, complete with a sing songy tease. Yes… it was. Utter and complete bullshit. All because he couldn’t say what he really wanted to… Because he couldn’t yet bring himself to admit it, much less say it out loud. The place he really wanted to go was wherever Jiyoonie was.

Heart to Heart (J'adore) || Jiyoon & Jimin
Anxiety rushed through her veins and chilled her spine as she watched his face for any expression. It always worried her to tell others what they meant to her for the fear of nothing being mutual, even if she merely wished to pursue a casual friendship. And when a laugh pushed between his smiling lips, Jiyoon only felt more nervous.
Why was he laughing? Was he laughing at her words? Was it so ridiculous for her to adore him? Did he find it humorous of her to feel so affectionately? Her foot began apprehensively tapping on the ground as a single hand gripped the corner of the large, wooden storage box she sat upon. Jiyoon forced out a small laugh to match his as another string of mental inquires pestered her.
Once Jimin finally replied, however, the petite blonde breathed out a relieved sigh as discreetly as she could.
"I’m glad," she said back to him, anticipation still built up within her chest. She tossed a grin on that would hopefully pass herself off as completely satisfied with his answer, and she should have been. Jiyoon had no reasonable room for doubt; the best excuse she could give was paranoia, and that would just make her out to be insane.
She eased out of the tight grip her hand maintained on the wood, ignoring the splinters that pricked her finger tips. Using her other hand she touched Jimin’s palm with her own, gaining a light grip on his hand and gently shaking it before letting go. That was what he wanted, right? Jiyoon was clueless in regards of any other reason to hold a hand out other than to shake it.
Jimin felt the light shake of his hand and smiled. He knew Jiyoon would take it easy on him... she was still nervous of her power and what detrimental things it could do to him. Its ok. He would give her all the time she needed. He wasnt going anywhere. Its a good thing she and so many others thought he was adorable... because he had a feeling that no one had come as close or pushed Jiyoon and her capabilities so far as he had.

"Invitation" || Jiyoon & Jimin
Jimin reassured her of the pain she’d lacked to exert on him despite her initial hesitation, and her pulse immediately steadied. Unlike her anxiety, though, the amusement remained. As the image of his hand literally slipping through her own returned, she could not help but compare herself to a small child attempting to catch a handful of cloud. Not only in consequence of the male’s intangibility, but also due to the sense of wonderment the experience caused to wave through her. The surrealism of his ability made her feel much like a chemist observing a new found element, only Jiyoon was privileged to this amazement on a regular basis, whereas chemists … well, weren’t.
The petite blonde, far too lost in her questions and his answers, had barely registered him pulling her hand to his cheek. She merely noticed another hand was gently placed by his against his face. Jiyoon nodded as he tried to explain his own sense of touch. His comparison to flour seemed to get the best reaction from her as she repeated “oh” beneath her breath, dragging out the sound.
“That’s really amazing, Jimin-ssi, and I’m slightly jealous,” she replied with a sincere grin and a light giggle.
Jiyoon’s smile held it’s place until Jimin’s hand fell from hers. Only then did she actually realize that it was her hand pressed to his cheek. She bit her lip and raised an eyebrow before inspecting the small amount of space that remained between them. Her eyes widened to the idea that their positioning could likely seem non-platonic, and almost like an instinct the woman quickly pulled her hand into her chest and took a step back.
“Jimin-ssi, uhm … You know where to find me if you need anything else, right? I just remembered that I have a thing.” The woman spoke as she slowly furthered herself from the younger male. “It was really lovely meeting you, okay, bye!” Her last words were said so quickly each syllable was forced into the next, and she finally turned her back to the other as she walked away.
That was just … weird. Nice, but weird.
In an instant she was gone, hustling as quick as she could away from him. Jimin looked to her quickly receding back, a slow smile spreading on his face as he thought of her consternation.... the smile and comfortable way she spoke his name seconds before retreating. He could understand... this was new to her... and new was always scary at first.... but sometimes new could be positively wonderful.
"You've won this round noona" he said outloud to no one in particular "but trust that I shall win the next one".
He said this with a nod, a small laugh escaping his lips as he entered his tent.
"Invitation" || Jiyoon & Jimin
When nothing appeared but taunting grin, a single brow of hers lifted in its perplexity. Jiyoon didn’t know whether she should be even more cautious, mirror his expression, or relax completely. Something about the way Jimin held himself clued her in that he was likely mischievous by nature, but in such a way that made others adore him rather than scold him and give him dirty looks. The teasing words than soon accompanied his countenance only seemed to contribute to her conclusion’s verisimilitude.
The young man’s playfulness eased her back into a state of calmness. And while the fact remained that Jiyoon constantly held herself two steps back out of fear of pushing herself and others, she was also determined – always striving to prove to herself and others that she was capable of being gentle, capable of causing no harm. That same determination urged her to give into the male’s words and squeeze “like she meant it.” Gullibility played a factor as well into her constant efforts, though, as she foolishly trusted too easily, even herself at times. And it could not be denied that something about Jimin made her trust him. Or want to, at the very least.
His next words acted much like a supportive and light rub or pat on her back.
“You can’t hurt me.”
Jiyoon swallowed the cold lump of doubt in her throat before silently nodding. She stepped toward Jimin just enough to close in on any awkward amount of space between the two before proceeding to slowly squeeze his hand. She was unaware of the extent of her own abilities. The most she knew was that a soft tap could be the equal to slap if she happened to lose control, which was an event that occurred more often that it should.
The blonde continued to apply pressure as she stared at their hands. At what point would it become too much for him? Would he feel it at all? And did was his body naturally defensive in such a way that it allowed him molecular invisibility at the very hint of danger? Also did that mean he had never broken a bone? A mass of inquiries continued to infiltrate her state of concentration before all thoughts were at last silenced by the image her fingers falling through his hand. The feeling of human flesh was essentially gone and she quickly retreated her hand – not out of disgust or fear, but out of shock that he had been right. Jiyoon did not think him to be incorrect regarding his own anatomy; she believed him … but, it was possible she’d taken his claims perhaps a bit too lightly.
After pulling her hand away the young woman looked back up to him with a face of both relief and shock.
“You- you’re … really not hurt? Or did you feel brief pain just before? Did you feel anything at all? I mean … do you have a sense of touch? And if so, is it insensitive or extra sensitive? Do you ever just feel noth-” Jiyoon put a stop to her own mouth by shutting it quickly. She knew that a trail of questions could annoy the most mild-mannered person, and she did not want to push the other into the opinion that she was the most irritating person to speak to.
“Shes going to do it” Jimin thought to himself as he watched Jiyoon swallow hard before stepping closer to him, closing the distance between them, moving into his space and making it theirs. There was something deep inside Jimin that warmed at the thought of this shared moment with her… this shared space.
He watched as her hand began to squeeze down on his, slowly at first, her face trapped in a visual wince as she looked to their locked hands, waiting as it were for his hand to shatter like glass into 1000 pieces. He could feel the pressure of her strength as it slowly radiated through their palms, he felt everything, he just trusted in his power to bend when his body hit its limit... This wasn’t his first time testing himself against something… it wouldn’t be the last.
At last her fingers slipped through his being like water making its way through a brook, her eyes widening as she snatched her hand back like she had been burned. She looked at him in sheer amazement, bringing her hand in front of her to examine, like she couldn’t believe what had just passed between them.
He knew he could do it. He knew she could do it.
“You- you’re … really not hurt? Or did you feel brief pain just before? Did you feel anything at all? …”
Jimin focused in on her lips as she threw questions at him in rapid succession, her words running together as one long never ending sentence. He could try to answer as many of them as he could… he imagined she had a lot…. having finally met someone with a power who couldn’t be hurt by her own.
“Ahhh noona of course it didn’t hurt. “ Jimin started with a smile “I felt pressure but not pain and yes…. I can feel“ he continued as he grabbed her other hand, taking advantage of her shocked state as he brought it to his cheek to show her she hadn’t imagined it.
“I feel just like you do” he said with a smile “I just feel…. differently I guess.” He thought for a moment of how he could explain it.
“Have you ever made cookies or baked anything from scratch? You know how flour feels? It can be firm if its packed but its still pliable…. Easy to sift through? Its kind of like that but…. with every fiber of my being” he said with a laugh.
He nodded proudly as he looked in her eyes, the eyes of his friend as his hand quietly slipped from the one held at his cheek, his cheeks warming suddenly as he realized just how close they were and just what this could look like.
Thing is... he didnt exactly want it to come to an end.
